A good stat but would still have you down as surprise promotion chasers considering what other teams have spent this summer.

Didn’t create much before either. Replicating our home form over the last couple of seasons. We struggle against teams stacking their defence.

I was going to say similar, but accusing us of stacking our defence? We only had the two centre backs as out and out defenders, the other two were in the wrong place when the manager allocated positions last night... (CM at RB and LW at LB)

Giving the officials the benefit of the doubt... :animatedf:
And if he said that that is what happened, who will prove him wrong?
The video proves him wrong.

Can’t believe you’re disputing your tactics of massed defence and lump it forward.

Not disputing the lump it forward, just the mass defence part. We even lost one of our CBs after 70 minutes, we moved the DM into the back two and replaced him with a five foot four striker... And still you were nowhere near.

I’m sorry. I don’t understand what you mean. The video clearly shows your player just outside the box knocking it on to Williams to score.

Just because he didn’t give it doesn’t mean he wasn’t wrong.

To think Carlisle fans were slagging off Ritchie Bennett and making out he's terrible...

In fairness some players are gash at one club and good at another.
He looks a good fit for us albeit it is early days.

Darlo fans laughed at us for signing Griff and Akpo Sodje... Sodje in particular considering we were a league up... 15 goals in a season and £325k profit 12 months later for us!

I like Bennett, looks a good signing and fits the way we play, a younger Tom Pope type with a bit of pace in comparison. Fact Mark Cullen can't get a look in shows how well hes done.

Agreed it's a fucking mess. I'm at work but that's no excuse. Lucky there's a delete function. Must try harder.

I'll leave the humour to you and F.I.R.T.H.Y.
I’ve also deleted mine, let’s not speak of this again
I've just read it, and I promise not to speak of it again either...

The stewards are making the Colchester fans all sit in the front 6 or 7 rows for some reason. :dk:

Much further up and you can't see!

Green despite his excellent strike last night is not suited to playing a front three, lack of movement and strength and is largely anonymous because of it. Obgu is the opposite, always running around excellent when he has the ball at his feet, strong and quick but your never quite sure what he is going to do and I don't think he is half the time either!
Yeah, Green isn't a front 3 man. Up top on his own with a number 10 or two up front and he's fine. he works the channels that hard that if you make him run the other way, he doesn't have the energy to do what he actually wants to.

This is what happens when mods go awol and Sabin runs the show. League 2 forums gone rogue.

He had a decent record in a poor Morecambe side last season as well. Maybe Carlisle have poor management who can’t get the best out of players. Their loss is our gain anyway.

Good game our was.

Forest green look an okay side but lacked that cutting edge. Good at keeping the ball but did little with it.

We played some good football and looked very dangerous when going forward. I still have some reservations about our lack of a top quality centre back and a strong, proper defensive midfielder (Joyce had a very good game Tuesday but I don’t see him as a proper CDM). We need a proper CDM to help protect the back 4 when we go forward in numbers.

Bennett looks a great signing big, strong, mobile and quick with an eye for goal. Amoo is exciting and really injects that bit of pace and creativity that we have been dying for. Crookes had a good game and looks like he could become a solid left back. Scott Brown pulled off 2 fantastic saves.

Our problem this season will be our lack of depth. With better quality on the bench in midfield and defence I’d say we could look at the top 7, without it I reckon we are a mid table side. However, if we stay clear of injuries and suspensions we might just surprise some people.

At the moment we have been creating many chances and probably 4 or 5 very good chances a game, problem has been we’ve been scoring 1 a game if we can start taking 2 or 3 a game we should do well if we can keep up the chances we’ve been creating.

Breath of fresh air though after Aspins negative football seeing us lump 60 yard balls to Pope but have no one within 20 yards of him to do anything with and thus creating 3 or 4 shots on target a game!
