We've been utter shite for about 3 months and it's a sad reflection on the standard of the league that we are still 9 points above the drop zone. Michael Brown appears to have steadied the ship slightly but the FA cup shocker against Huddersfield reserves shows the massive gulf we need to bridge to even contemplate trying for promotion in this league. We've been left with about 35 players of which about 75% are not good enough to challenge in this league and we're just slowly starting to offload one by one.

It's basically a rebuilding job mid season, which is never ideal. We've signed Chris Eagles, recently released by Accrington which is never a good sign, however I will give him the benefit of the doubt as there is undoubted talent in there. We've also signed a youngster from Derby who is highly rated but we've been here before - again though I won't judge until I've seen him play.

In terms of this game, I'm really surprised at MK Dons. Preseason they were one to watch for me but they seem to have carried on from last season in terms of form. They've got a decent squad, so I just don't know what is going on with them. We've finally got a few striking options after having one available last Saturday - Anton Forrester looked a good player early in the season but appears to be susceptible to recurring injuries and JJ Hooper is back on loan - he was starting to look a bit more threatening towards the end of last season but was frozen out under Bruno. He could return with enthusiasm but he's no world beater. We've also potentially got Remie Streete and Jak Alnwick (Keeper) out and they've probably been our two best players!

I expect us to play a bit more direct and with a bit more pace, as this is the way that Brown wants to play. He has said that our fitness levels are 'alarming', so hopefully as the squad gets fitter we'll see a difference. It would be nice to string together some results but I just can't see it. I'll go for an optimistic draw 1-1.

Could be our first double of the season.... and possibly only one as its our only away win to date!

Not sure on Jak's fitness as yet so he may be passed fit.

Finally have some striker options with Hooper and Forrester now available which is the first time in months.

That free's Thomas to play out wide where he should be and Eagles on the other side has the talent but seems to have lost his way after a tragedy within his family. Hopefully Brown can get him back to how he was.

So all of a sudden after having zero attacking threat for months we look as though we have some options going forward which should help us.

Defensively losing Streete is a blow, assume a loanee or Knopps will fill in though.

Win should be the target but a draw would suffice. Hopefully all the new bodies available this week signals the continued league recovery under Brown.

Contemplate promotion LeedsValiant? crikey nothing like optimism. Rotherham have shed loads more money than us and have had 3 relegation fights which this time looks to no avail, we are light years from the Championship.
As for tomorrow, Franchise F.C are decent away, we are turd everywhere, given injuries and a debutant keeper i fear the worst but i'll try and be positive and go for 1-1.

Our away form hasn't been as great as it was. It's a while since our last away goal, in fact.

Should be an open game as we're moving it around a bit quicker under RN.

Possibly one or two new faces arriving today, but whether they're involved or not is another matter.

Probably a draw...

This has 0-0 written all over it.

Bit of an unknown quantity tomorrow from our side:

3 potential debutants in youth keeper Boot, Chris Eagles and Callum Guy

1 available after a loan spell since August - JJ Hooper

1 available after injury that's been ongoing since August (arguably our best striker) in Anton Forester

Brown now has some players to utilise to try and get the approach he wants (more attacking hopefully) at home.

Don't overly know what to expect from us as assume a few of these will come into the XI.

On a side not we are becoming a Premier League Veterans Side with Eagles, Thomas, Brown and Eagles! (plus Alnwick played there)

Wouldn't be to bothered of this is called off in all honesty. More time to get players back to fitness what we desperately need.

Maybe you guys really didn't want it on? Put minimal work into getting the pitch suitable? I don't know, or care really. We only have 12 fit senior players (that includes 2 goalkeepers) so glad it's off.

Apparently had people working on the pitch yesterday. Think a 12pm inspection may have had a different outcome though and surely most MK fans wouldn't set off until around then?

When train tickets fluctuate as wildly as they do, plenty (in relative terms ;)) were on trains by 9:30. The inspection couldnt have been any earlier, mind. I was set to get on the 11am out of Euston, so that's £30 or so I won't get back, unless I'd fancied Crewe v Luton or summat.

I'm always cynical when it suits both managers to have it called off, but I think it's genuine in this instance.

To be fair after seeing the interview with speedy it appears was more down to water logging as the snow was melting and heavy rain this morning.

Yeah a Crewe fan calling us a joke club is a bit ironic with their issues on and off the field in recent months!

Apparently as our pitch is one of the few in the FL that is sat on clay rather than sand or soil it is more suspect in frosty conditions, although seems the amount of water on the surface was more the issue today.
