Seriously

Grant Hanley sold for 5 Million
Jordan Rhodes sold for 9 million
Rudy Gestede sold for 6 million

The replacements
Gordan Greer free transfer
Danny Graham free transfer
Anthony Stokes free transfer

What has happened to that money?

The Venky's are living the life somewhere in India courtesy of Blackburn Rovers.

They have massive debts don't they? I would assume it's going towards that.

Ah fair enough just going off what I'd read previously and the ever reliable football manager. ;) Thought it was another Bolton.

To be fair, in replacing Odubajo, Gray and Tarkowski (c£20m in fees) we spent £1.5m (Vibe, Colin and Egan).

Most clubs in this division need to sell players to stay in profit, it's not that surprising they haven't spent anything, especially with that much debt and losing that much money.

As at 30 June 2015, they had:
- £88m of debt due to the owners.
- £4.5m of external debt (due to be repaid within one year)
- £13m overdraft

Appears that the transfer fees were used to repay the external loan and for the shareholders to either reduce or maintain their debt at the £88m level. I would be inclined to say the shareholder debt has either stayed at the same level or increased given the losses being incurred each year.

These figures at 30 June 2015 factor in the monies received for Cairney.

I think they're fucked. Just 10,000 there on Saturday... all well and good boycotting the owners but it is very difficult to get people back into the habit of going to games, hard to see them getting 20k+ again. It's like the size of the club is significantly dwindling every year, the Premier League is miles away. Sad really, to see what the Venky's mistake has done to them.

Blackburn are just reverting back to the levels they were at before being successful.

It's not a big town and they're steadily losing the band wagoners from the Prem days.

Exactly....spot on assessment. They need to live within their means.

As for Brentford selling Odubajo, Gray and Tarkowski for £20 million, I am not sure about that figure as both Gray and Tarkowski were "undisclosed" fees. £20 million seems rather on the high side considering Gray was reputed to be £6 million rising to a max of £9 million (England caps, Burnley staying in PL etc). Same with Tarkowski - substantial amount but includes a lot of add-ons.

Lol. Everyone showing sympathy to us then a Nobber and a Dingle say we're returning where we belong. Ironic coming from two teams that were in the 4th division at the time you're referring to...

How are Preston or Burnley's past league positions relevant to Blackburn's current situation?

It could have easily been either of you two in this situation. Shame you two have never done anything of note to attract attention outside of the country.

Just smacks of jealously because we achieved more in 1990-2010 than PNE or Dingles ever have and ever will.

You weren't even alive when Blackburn won the Prem, just like nearly every fan in the Championship on here wasn't alive when their respective teams were any good.

Also Burnley and Preston have both won top division league titles, why does it differ to your title win? If anything yours seems cheaper because you were the first team to 'buy' the league.

Preston NE have always been a bigger club than Blackburn

shame they won the title in 1995 because I reckon they'd have as many fans now as Rochdale

Hey Lancy,

England caps don't come into it, it was £6.5m up front, £3m more on promotion. For Tarkowski it was £4.5m up front, £1.5m more on promotion.

We can't get anything more from you guys for those players, you've paid all the clauses already. We have some sell on clauses but not a huge amount unfortunately.

Odubajo was £3.5m up front as it was a release clause.

This is pretty much Brentford's best period since the war, and I'm alive, so I'll take that :p

Came back on the championship board because the prem board isn't talking about how good Boro are for some reason...

If I was a Blackburn fan I would be getting hugely annoyed at getting grief at Preston and especially Burnley fans. Burnley couldn't be anymore tinpot compared to Blackburn. Preston are a good club so not slagging them off. It is a good club being destroyed by imbeciles. Nobody should take joy in once great clubs being reduced to nothing by greedy foreign investors who don't understand football. I do think Blackburn will go down this season and it'll be a shame.
