You weren't even alive when Blackburn won the Prem, just like nearly every fan in the Championship on here wasn't alive when their respective teams were any good.

Also Burnley and Preston have both won top division league titles, why does it differ to your title win? If anything yours seems cheaper because you were the first team to 'buy' the league.
Some of our teams have never been any good

It could have easily been either of you two in this situation. Shame you two have never done anything of note to attract attention outside of the country.

Just smacks of jealously because we achieved more in 1990-2010 than PNE or Dingles ever have and ever will.

In what situation? You're not the first club to be badly run, look at Bolton. I've also seen my own club in a far shittier situation than the one you're currently in, you're still more than capable of a mid-table Championship finish, we're 4 games in...

The Venky's had a go at getting back to the top flight, paying a huge transfer fee and offering massive money to Jordan Rhodes. Your wage bill has been huge since being relegated. They failed to get back up, parachute money has dried up and now cost-cutting measures have kicked in, it's not a unique situation.

I'm no more jealous of Blackburn buying their way to the top flight than I am Portsmouth, Fulham or Bournemouth. It doesn't really concern me.

Why has it become common practice for people to be complete soft-asses and expect sympathy from opposition fans for anything a bit shitty going on at their club?

Came back on the championship board because the prem board isn't talking about how good Boro are for some reason...

If I was a Blackburn fan I would be getting hugely annoyed at getting grief at Preston and especially Burnley fans. Burnley couldn't be anymore tinpot compared to Blackburn. Preston are a good club so not slagging them off. It is a good club being destroyed by imbeciles. Nobody should take joy in once great clubs being reduced to nothing by greedy foreign investors who don't understand football. I do think Blackburn will go down this season and it'll be a shame.

The fuck you rambling on about?

Growing up Blackburn were a small provincial club who suddenly by a takeover became a spending force in football, they paved the way for the greed in the PL that exists today, the club was never particularly big but thanks to Jack Walker they became Champions of England.

They are going through a bit of a lull and heading perhaps to their more natural level, that's life. Your club were on the brink of far worse than Blackburn, padlocked gates at Ayresome but for the wonderful contribution of Steve Gibson i dread to think where you could be have ended up. We dropped out of the PL before the big money parachute payments flooded in, we suffered a long stint of mediocre to shit players, lack of transfer fees being paid, two stays in the 3rd fucking tier so please forgive me if i don't offer any fucking sympathy to a club that spent £1.1m on Mike fucking Newell in the 2nd tier in 1992.

So our level is the 3rd and 4th tier? We've spent 5 years in the 3rd tier in our history, and none in the 4th tier. "The fuck you rambling on about?"

Have i said your natural level is below this one? No, but being a mediocre 2nd tier side is more in keeping with the last hundred years......

Considering Blackburn has a population of 105k, a 10k average crowd is a decent proportion of the population. That was more thanenough to sustain them as a 2nd division club back in the 80s. It's debatable whether it is now.

5 years ago the North West was the place to be when it came to English football, the likes of Blackburn, Bolton, Blackpool and ourselves all in the Premier League. Sad state of affairs to see how bad it's got. Blackpool and Blackburn ruined by owners. Bolton only have themselves to blame though, spent way beyond their means and paid the price.

How is Bolton different to Blackburn? Both overspent. Both the boards are at fault but Blackburn were ruined by owners and Bolton only have themselves to blame? Makes sense.

The difference being that Bolton have owners that actually care about the football club but still ran them into almost financial ruin. Blackburn on the other hand simply have owners that don't care about the club. Blackburn haven't overspent, if anything with the sales of Gestede, Rhodes etc they are in a stable financial position. The reason they are in the position they are is because they won't spend any money (hence Lambert leaving) and their appointment of Owen Coyle. Anyone with a brain knows he's a disaster waiting to happen yet the Venky's still employed him.

Boltons owner clearly didn't care that much or he wouldn't have spent money they couldn't afford therefore putting the clubs future at risk. At Blackburn the Venky's did spend money when they first arrived and then when they didn't reach the so called promised land they started cutting costs. They've had there good times and now they look like they're going to be shit for a while, that's football.

Of course they cared, they spent all this money back when they could afford it in the Premier League, they backed Owen Coyle at the time bringing in players like David N'Gog, David Wheater, Jay Spearing and Darren Pratley on huge wages. Unfortunately for them it backfired as they were relegated and stuck with all these rubbish players on huge contracts. They underestimated the financial effect of relegation and put all their faith in an absolute fraud of a manager who financially crippled them, that doesn't mean they didn't care about the club.

I'm sure Phil Gartside tried abolishing relegation from the Prem, therefore meaning that Bolton would always have money coming in, so they could spend heavily with no risk of it backfiring.

Did they not spend 8m on jordan rhodes which at that time was a lot of money to spend in this league.
Explain how August 2012 and December 2010 are the same month then. They are the reason we were relegated. They are the reason we haven't been promoted.

Ok then they might have cared, it still doesn't change the fact that they couldn't afford it or they wouldn't be in the mess they are now. I'm sure while they was in the prem they were losing money so they've only got themselves to blame with the ridiculous amount of money you get for being in that league. No sympathy at all for either club, they spent money they couldn't afford and now are paying the consequences of it.

The question wasn't why were Blackburn relegated/ not promoted again though, it was why isn't the 20m being spent, it is, it's being used to try and clear debts after years of overspending.

So we were a club in turmoil with a constant risk of liquidation hanging over us for over 100 years? Ok.

If that was the case (which it isn't), then how are our debts increasing at a rate of knots?

You won't be liquidated you over dramatic fool. During my formative years, you were a lower end 2nd tier club, bit of turmoil, bit of good luck, such is life, you've no pre ordained right to be well run and be in the top flight, and if you were you'd be far behind other clubs in this league in preference.

This is your level roversfan, you're just used to premier league football and clearly don't like not being there anymore. Stop whinging.
I'm not saying we deserve to be in the Prem, or even in this league. I'd happily take being in League One/Two if it meant Venky's sold up. As I expected, fans of other clubs don't quite understand the situation at BRFC.

(also, I started going in 2009, so I've seen more 2nd tier football than 1st tier, but yknow :dk:)

Cheap season tickets which still haven't sold well, no prem parachute payments, high wages, it's not hard to see why. As others have said you've no devine right to be in the top league and now you're not your fanbase are throwing their toys out of the pram.

Can we all just agree that Blackburn fans are a bunch of anoraks who bring a flask to games, collect programmes and keep their used ticket stubs in a filofax?
Filofaxes are still around?!

The parachute payments that only stopped last season? They explain 5 years of rapidly increasing debt do they? :ffs:
