The Wednesday
One of English footballs oldest league fixtures with games dating back to 1892.

Two of the divisions most successful clubs with 28 trophies between them, though most of ours were won in the black and white era.

We travel to Villa Park hoping to consolidate our top six spot against a Villa side who've won three out of the last four.

Been to Villa Park plenty of times over the years, my last visit was a 1-0 win in the league cup back in 2001, Evan Ekoku netting the only goal in a shock win.

Other memorable trips include a 1-0 win in 1992 when Nigel Jemson scored a controversial winner on my 11th birthday

And a win after a penalty save by Pressman in 1997

A proper old school ground and fixture taking me back to my youth, hopefully we can grind out a result but expect a score draw which I'd take if the rumour about Forestieri being injured is true.

Going to the game tomorrow, looking forward to it. Obviously Wednesday are way above us in the league but I'm hopeful we can pull out a victory. Just looking for a much better and more attack minded performance than in the last game I saw (The 1-0 loss against Ipswich).

Predicting/Hoping for a 2-1 win.

This, imo, has draw written all over it. 1-1
That is what my head says but I'm always the optimist. A draw would be a good result considering all the players we have on the injury table. If they can keep Kodjia quiet then we will probably be in trouble.

Oh absolutely, keep Kodjia quiet and we're extremely unlikely to score.

2 more injuries for us so far. Lansbury injured in warm-up and Baker in the game.

Bruce with an odd tactical decision when Baker went off bringing on Hutton, leaving us lining up like:

Johnstone
Hutton Chester Jedi Taylor
Bree Hourihane Gardner Amavi
Adomah Kodjia

No complaints so far as we're 1-0 up, but we have 5 defenders on the pitch, 2 left backs and 2 right backs! Suppose we can go 6-2-2 when defending?

Well, Bruce's bizarre subs clearly did the job, Shweds going down to 10 obviously helped too...

Great result even though we didn't really play that well. Kodjia has hit a bit of form again lately thank god. Wednesday fans will be a bit worried with Fulham on their back and hopefully we can push on and finish top half. UTV

Strange one as I felt we were marginally the better team up to the first goal and Winnall should have done better, switched off from a set piece and were made to pay.

Sending off, I can see why he went but on second viewing looked harsh, glaring misses kept us in the match and should have had a penalty, their second looked offside to many but I was in line and he was on.

Fair play Villa.

Red was harsh, don't think Wednesday's goal was offside either. Ours definitely wasn't.

Meh, I'll take a slight rub of the green to be honest.

Villa's recent form certainly suggests that they're on a good foundation to challenge next season. A few additions rather than wholesale changes and everything looks set up!

Yup, couple of wingers, back up at CB and a back up striker and we should be all good to go.

Can't see any of the sides coming down having anywhere near the financial clout of Villa either (parachute payments notwithstanding), so that should help. I'm heading up for the Reading game in a few weeks, looking forward to it!

Luckily for us we don't have a Newcastle type coming down from the prem although that's not to say whoever comes down won't challenge. I'm still not overly confident about next season but we shall see. The great thing is Newcastle and Brighton will be out of the league.
