Because we won the league.

Through my dad, he took me to my first game when I was 4 and the rest is history. Didn't get a season ticket til 2009 so I missed all the years we were half decent though.

Who did your dad support before you won the league?

Born in Preston, had a season ticket for as long as I can remember. That's about it, no choices to be made.

Family full of Wednesday barring mi late mam who went against the grain and supported them lot (understandable why we had a tumultuous relationship really), went to S6 first when I was 5, never looked back.

You get many Liverpool and Man Utd fans in Sheffield? Or even Leeds with it being not that far away.

Living in north Essex, I’ve not exactly been spoilt for choice... Colchester was an option but I live as far from there as I do Ipswich!

Followed on from my dad though

My Dad was working in Leeds when the Roma game was on the other week and watched it in a bar and said there were a shit load of pretend scousers in there going nuts when Liverpool scored.

Most cities and towns are infected with the problem I think.

Sheffield does seem that way, in that's it's strictly Wednesday, or Blades.

See kids in all sorts of kits nowadays, was very rare to see anything but kids in Owls or Blades shirts when I was a growing up.
It's slowly creeping in amongst a few adults, I know a couple of Leeds fans and one Man Utd fan, who were born and bred In Sheffield.
Don't understand em at all, how can they have a genuine affinity with them clubs?
I hate Sheff Utd but understand why they support them and respect them for it, not so the plastics, fortunately it's only a tiny percentage of Sheffield fans, but still more than there used to be.

What a horrible thought it must have been, god forbid you could have supported a title winning team this season.

Winning the 2nd division is hardly one for the Aston villa honours list mate, for you or us it's a good achievement but for villa should they win it I don't think it will be one they talk about in 30 years like the 1981 title followed by the 1982 European cup.

I agree, it was only meant as a joke. The majority of Wolves fans wern't alive during the best era of our history so our recent 3 promotions to the PL are probably as good as it gets.

My dad just turned 60, He has seen us win 2 League Cups but even they were around 40 years ago.

Winning the fa cup is as good as it gets for the likes of us I'm afraid and that's a hell of a long shot, last season winning league one was my most enjoyable, you may challenge for 7th spot next year but that's hardly something you'll be bragging about in 25 years time either, although most likely it gets you in Europe, something I don't think I'll ever see.

Nothing's impossible, Burnley have just got into the Europa League. Even clubs like Swansea, Leicester, Birmingham, Hull, Southampton, Wigan have made it in recent years.. you were very close in the Cup the other year...

Sure, being bankrolled helps a lot, but if clubs like that can make it there's no reason why you cant. Have to admit watching Wolves in Europe is a dream of mine. I'm jealous of some of our older fans who were alive to see us play in Europe, winning away to the likes of Juventus.

My grandad goes on about that great wolves team from the 50s. Although he don't like wolves, he always rates wolves as a club very high.

I suppose I can only hope. Our pre season trip to Malaga last year was absolutely superb, if it was a proper match it would be immense.

From where I live, Chelsea, Brentford and Fulham are all closer to me than QPR. My Grandad use to live near to Millwall and was a fan of them for many years. But then he moved house and was nearer to QPR so started to take my uncle and my Mum to QPR. My Mum stopped going but my uncle still goes. My Grandad still went with him and my brothers (12 years older than me) and then started to take my brother, my cousin and I.

So if my Grandad didn't move house, I would be a Millwall fan. But he did, so my uncle, Mum, brothers, cousins and now nieces and nephews are all QPR through and through.

Plus, there is a certain appeal to supporting someone who are normally pretty shit, with the moments of being good.

A part of my grandads side of the family are Millwall. They lived in Forest Gate.

Born & bred and have lived entirely in Brum, both parents season ticket holders at Blues amongst many other family members, wasn’t ever spoken about, my family are Blues, it’s not possible for any other outcome.

A slight caveat that makes me smile, a cousin of mine moved down to London about 10 years ago with her [now] husband who has no interest in football (weirdo) , they live literally in the shadows of Stamford Bridge, they had a little lad about 5 years ago who’s Grandad buys a Blues kit every year, she puts pictures up on FB of his football training and parties etc, always stood in his Blues kit surround by Chelsea Arsenal Spurs shirts, bless him, his Mom says he loves all the other kids quizzing him over the strange shirt he’s wearing :D

I was on a project in London for a few months many years ago and had digs near Blackfriars bridge. Spent many a good night at the old Den at the time watching Millwall. Kept my accent and allegiance well under wraps though! :shut:
Always had a soft spot for them since TBH.

It's hard not to like Millwall, especially these days where football crowds are just so sanitized.
