Sure next year!

Seeing the Liverpool's roster, I can find just 4 or 5 players who are able to play as Klopp wants. But you can see his good gegenpressing right now and you can see how the players give the 100% of them for the team, which is another element of Klopp's football.

The next transfer session will be the turning point for his Liverpool.

As the first post says he cannot accomplish his type of football in the English league. There are just too many games and his players will continue to become fatigued and injury prone as the season progresses.

Its just so obvious to the football boffins like me.

It's spelled buffoon.
If you had my knowledge of football son you would be a very clever man. My initial post is spot on and i'm sure the wider footballing community will raise this problem in the next 12 months or so.

Didn't Dortmund play 52 games (roughly) the season they made Champs League final? Problem is that age old issue of there being too many fixtures but that's a whole other debate.

And I understand it, but he could adapt his methodology to the Premier League's type of football.
But the foundations on which to build his team I think that they'll be gegenpressing, defense and great intensity. For example, Ranieri went to Germany to improve his quality and Leicester plays a bit of gegenpressing. He's 'right', not intense as BVB or Bayer Leverkusen, but we see its efficacy. The key is in knowing how to adapt without distorting the best knowledge.

As predicted he has flopped because he refuses to change his pressing game.

It don't work in England.

I wouldn't say a side sitting 4th in the league with two points difference to the second-placed has failed. Chelsea had it's early season woes, but that didn't mean they failed. And your argument that Klopps style doesn't fit to the premier league is some way off, as Liverpools 1. team were able to perform well throughout most of December with the same amount of fixtures as in january(for that matter the two Plymouth matches and the one against wolves don't count). The recent dip in form has therefore absolutely nothing to do with the clubs philosophy but with the lack of any squad depth, which, admittedly, is Klopps fault.

There's a lot of Wummery in here but I think Klopp has done an excellent job. Liverpool's squad is not as good as the rest of the top 6. He has them overachieving really. They've lost form but so be it, it was going to happen. They'll bounce back though and be in the fight for the top 4 which all Liverpool fans would have taken at the start of the season.

U cant press all game every game in England. Simply too many matches. The only way he could do it is with 24 top class players and rotate.

Problem is it is impossible to have that many good players in 1 squad.

He will fail 100%.

No team can maintain that level over a season, every club has a lean spell regardless of how talented a group they have.
I noticed against us and against Wolves at the weekend. Both teams set up against Liverpool in a similar way. Sit with two banks of four, well organised defensively and let Liverpool come on to you. Hit them on the break and as their defence leaves a lot to be desired, they are always liable to concede.
Limit them to sideways passes, play in front of you and push them out onto the flanks. Liverpool have no target men so if they can't penetrate with their intricate passing around the box, any crosses they do whip in can be dealt with. They don't seem to have a plan B.
Not sure a plan B would work with Klopp's style either, but they seem to be lacking a player who can get on the end of crosses. Their trophy winning sides had them. Aldridge, Rush etc.

Andy Carroll is perhaps one of the most underrated English players of all time. I might start a thread on him so he can get some deserved plaudits. My last player specific thread was for Gareth Bale at a time when people rated Theo Walcott higher, did him wonders.

That was Saltire and he still reckons Walcott is better than Bale.

Spurs press very well, Johnny.

Perhaps Klopp could study their tapes?

Jürgen Klopp has an identical record to Brendan Rodgers in his opening 54 Premier League games as Liverpool boss (W26 D16 L12).

But but but it's not HIS team. Didn't you know Rodgers is still responsible for all the defeats?
