Decent chance to bounce back here, shame it’s a Friday game but I need to tick the ground off so will be going.

Eliasson and Diedhiou must start after their impact from the bench last night.

Maenpaa
Hunt Webster Kalas Kelly
Eliasson Pack Walsh O’Dowda
Taylor Diedhiou

Take Weimann out for one and the same for Brownhill, eager to see what Walsh can do.

Wigan 1-2 City (Morsy 6’) (Diedhiou 18’, O’Dowda 58’)

Think this will be a draw. Wigan are a decent side, night game at their place especially. I’d probably take that!

I was gonna go to this as I've been in Manc land most of this week but came back to Bristol early yesterday so won't bother now. Sky sports for me then.
As GG says, a point wouldn't be a bad return from this although we would all like 3 and Wigan seem to be strong at home. Nick Powell worries me as he's a fine player, give him too much space and he could do us some damage.

2-2.

Only reason I’m going is because it’s a 10er. Reckon it’ll be an awful game. Either a 0-0 or just the odd goal in it.

If we play like we have done at home all season, I'd fancy a win, however we have an abysmal record against Bristol City, we could sign Messi and Ronaldo for this one game and still lose, add that several of the first 11 expected to be out, would be happy with a point against a bogey team.

Powellinho on the scoresheet, what more does the lad need to do to get an England call up?

You were spot on there mate. Absolute shocker of a game, zero quality on show but Wigan wanted it more than we did. Fuming with that performance. Utter utter garbage from the whole team.

Dire performance but had enough chances at the end to scrape a draw.

That was awful to watch, not that I give a monkeys. How Bristol didn’t equalise in stoppage time I don’t know, missed two sitters. Should be top of the league now if not for last minute goals!

We deserved fook all fella! Absolute garbage by us, the worst I've seen in many years.
Disgraceful performance City, totally embarrassing!

As shite as it was, and it really was shite, Wigan were equally gash so I wouldn’t even say we deserved “fook all”. Draw would’ve been a fair result.

Thought Wigan away last time was certainly worse than that, we just happened to nick it 1-0 at the death which left Johnson buzzing as opposed to embarrassed which he was last night. Score late on which we absolutely should have and everyone’s probably praising the character and saying it’s the “sign of a good team”. Fine margins.

There were a handful of equally bad performances last season. Bolton away being one, an absolute carbon copy of last night.

Definitely a dull game, had a feeling with it being between 2 of the top 3 sides for created chances and it being on Sky that it would be a borefest with few chances, always happens doesn't it.

Think 1-0 was the fair result, think Bristol City fans are being a bit harsh on their team, easily the best side to come to the DW this season. We've played a lot of the top 6 hopefuls in our opening 9 games and only Brentford look a better side than Bristol City IMO. The stats showed equal shots in the end but I think the majority of their chances came after 85 minutes and we had shut up shop from 70 mins onwards as we had no strikers on the pitch due to injuries.

Two good footballing sides who for the most part cancelled each other out in midfield. Thought City started brightly in the opening 10, Paterson was lively but James got tight and did a great job in nullifying him for the rest of the game. A superb Kipre challenge denied a certain goal early on. Then we generally took control of the game without getting the final ball in fo the most part, apart from a flurry of corners and pressure in the last 5 minutes of the first half, City struggled to create anything until the 85th minute, despite some good passages of midfield play. Thought we dug deep and defended well at the important times to stop City.

We had a lots of crosses dangerously whipped in the box or blocked and a number of attempted through balls that just didn't quite come off through out the game as we put pressure on. Both sides looked a bit lethargic and sloppy at times, I know we had 5 players starting who were touch and go after Tuesday.

Think 4-4-2 would suit Bristol City more at home, as it was hard to get the front 2 involved past our 5 man midfield, wouldn't surprise me if they have a very strong home form, but struggle away? Their full backs were definitely the weak link, Jack Hunt must have a superb agent to continually get Championship clubs, the left back didn't look ready for this level of football. There was a bit too much risky passing going on at the back, which on several occasions were fortunate to get away with, do you try and over play it at the back every match? Clearly some very good players in that team though, so a slight tweak in tactics away from home should fix that and get more wins than losses.

Two sides that are genuine play off contenders unless something dramatic happens for me.

Fair play NS but that was our worst performance this season by an absolute mile! Whether that was you stopping us or us just being really bad is open to debate but we were terrible.
I don't agree with my fellow reds that we deserved a point either. Yes, we should probably have nicked one at the end but IMHO you deserved the victory.
I saw no positives in our performance whatsoever TBH.
