this was the view from our seats. pretty awesome seats. sweltering though. the sun was on us from 1pm (when the doors opened) to 6pm (when the rock and rousey promo happened) and it was a good 75 degrees. shoulders are still pretty sore now

big time. absolutely big time. when rollins won the belt, I was high fiving my mate and I looked round and saw guys hugging each other and high fiving each other, absolutely mental. to be fair, the few kids and women who were there who were obviously supporting Roman Reigns started leaving half way through the main event when Lesnar was beasting him (SUPLEX CITY!!!)

the axxess event, i met some cool guys like Xavier Woods, Big E (hate the gimmick but the actual guys are pretty cool) & Luke Harper (huge). I also managed to get an autograph for my little lads favourite guy Sin Cara, which he signed to him personally as well. He's another nice guy. Also met Renée Young too. Hubba Hubba.

hall of fame was a bit boring. the zbysko speech was a train wreck & the macho man stuff seemed really rushed which was a shame. Having Nash as the main guy rubbed me up the wrong way. The crowd were all dying to see the Macho Man inducted, but then not to have it as the main event was pretty wrong.

mania was awesome. the greatest sporting or entertainment event i have ever been to. crazy.

the raw after the show was really cool too, although this guy next to me called Randy seemed obsessed with me going with him to Dallas next year for Mania 32 and taking any opportunity possible to touch me on the shoulder or leg or anywhere. The first 2 hours of the show were brilliant, the main event was dire though. Being in that post-mania Raw crowd though - winner.

I'm probably going to do a monster write up on this at some point, but for now I just want to give a brief version of my experience...

After 14 years of watching wrestling (with like a 3 or 4 year gap in the middle some where, though I still watched the Rumble and WM's during that time) I was obviously anticipating going to WM31. I'd never even been to a WWE event before, so to finally get to do that, and do it at a WM none the less, was obviously a dream come true.

However, I can tell you that, despite the massive amount of anticipation and excitement I had leading into it, it was still a far more amazing experience than I'd ever thought it could be. It's got a hell of a shot of being the best day of my life. Even if it'd been a shit WM, that'd possibly still be the case, but the fact that it was also a superb show with an ending that had me DESTROYING my voice box just made it that much more special.

I went into it thinking it'd be a one off thing, ticking it off of my bucket list and what not... but the way I see it now, so long as I can afford it, there is absolutely no way I intend on not going to Wrestlemania 32. I don't ever see myself wanting to not go to a Wrestlemania live again, if I'm honest

Good stuff. To anybody who's ever considered going to WM, I'd say just do it if you can afford it. I can't imagine a scenario where you'd regret it... even if I had to go to one of the shit WM's like 11 or 9 I can imagine loving it.

I agree with you 100%. i'd imagine if i wasn't a family man, I would be saving up every single year and going to every single Wrestlemania. it's such an awesome experience. Axxess. Hall of Fame. Mania. Raw. It's amazing. I remember even bumping into and having a good chat with one of the fans who got caught doing one of the crazy looks on his face at ringside when Taker lost at Mania 30. And like Oaf said, even if it was a shit Mania, it's still an awesome experience.

PS my voice took 3 days to get back to normal after 1) having the shock of DX & the NWO come out, 2) Ronda Rousey in a WWE ring, & 3) Rollins winning. Honestly people were high fiving, hugging, jumping up and down & screaming in the crowd when Rollins won the belt, it was like watching your team score a 89th minute winner in a derby. Amazing!

What exactly is there to do in Dallas then? My lack of knowledge is more to do with the fact that I've never even looked at Dallas as a possible location to go to on holiday than through doubt that there is actually interesting stuff there. I mean... I guess it'll sort of turn out like San Jose really, where I didn't actually do anything at all there besides Wrestling stuff, but it'd be nice if there were a couple of other good places to see.

We're already in the early planning stages for WM32... thinking of possibly going to Reykjavik first, then New York and then ending it in Dallas. A big regret with this years was that when we left San Jose for Vegas, our little experience in Vegas was spent just sort of wishing we were back in San Jose watching more wrestling (rest assured, Vegas had totally won us over in the end, though!)

Mate, it's Texas, you do whatever the fuck you want...as long as you're white. Then Dallas is a 50 minute flight to Austin which is right next to San Antonio which is right on the Mexican border. My view *may* be warped because I watched Friday Night Lights and that but the general idea is that you have barbecues and shoot things. My Dad's company is based in Austin so he's been and as long as you say 'hook 'em y'all' a lot you're fine. Me and NQDP will be out on the town anyway, flexing our pecs to the lil' Daisy Dukes.

As a warning by the way... you get a 10k word limit per post on here. I had to put this write up into THREE POSTS. That's over 20k words... so yeah. Just know what you're getting into...

As soon as I got off of the train in San Jose, the first thing I saw was the Levi stadium. That was a special moment… it’s such a brilliant stadium and I was instantly hyped for the days to come. In the ride to my hotel, I saw a lot of banners up on lampposts and things… and as soon as I got into my hotel it felt like the entire atmosphere of the entire planet had changed. Prior to being in San Jose, being a wrestling fan seemed like a pretty exclusive, rare thing. Sure, you’d spot the odd person wearing a t-shirt or whatever (and there were a fair few in San Francisco doing so), but it suddenly felt as if I’d entered, to unintentionally steal a shitty phrase, a WWE Universe. Pretty much EVERYBODY around seemed to be a wrestling fan. They ALL had WWE shirts. They were ALL talking about WWE. It was an amazing atmosphere. The entire city and the people in it were all about Wrestlemania and the WWE for all of the three days I was there, and to me, that was as special as anything else I did over that weekend.

I didn’t have long before my first Axxess session, so quickly went about getting down to the convention center. Again, the atmosphere there was superb, and so brilliantly WWE flavoured. In the entire city, no matter where you were… you could hear a quiet “WOOO!” in the distance, which would gradually build up to everybody around you woooooing. It was amazing!

I checked out the shop first, and it’s probably the only place I’ve ever seen where you don’t like like a manchild if you want to buy some action figures, because everybody was doing it! Once we left, after a fair bit of queuing (unfortunately, a massive amount of time over the coming days was spent doing this…) I finally got in there and eagerly wondered who would be the first ever actual WWE wrestler I’d see live and in the flesh. And it was…

Adam. FUCKING. Rose.

Sat at his desk with a queue of mugs who wanted to see him for some reason. Bastard. I then saw Luke Harper though, which made it all better. And then a whole bunch of other cool people were around.

With the queues and stuff, they’d have the main queue, and then little queues to the sides where all of the disabled people and stuff line up… and every now and then, the wrestlers would get up and go to these people, which meant that if you were passing by you could get some real close ups with these wrestlers without actually queuing up for them. The first person I had this experience with was AJ, and I don’t think the TV ever really put across just how small she is. She’s tiny. Likewise, Kane and Big Show both had Q+A sessions in the main ring and after seeing them up close, they were so much bigger than I thought they’d be. And I saw Mark Henry sat at his desk too, and again, he’s an absolute monster of a human being. Scary big.

Anyway, the first wrestler I queued up for was Tyler Breeze. Both because his line was the shortest at the time, and because I think he’s great. He was a really nice dude… it’s always weird when you only see people like him on TV where he plays an absolute douchebag, but then in real life he’s a nice guy. We bought a WM31 shirt for people to sign, and he was pretty thrilled to see that he was going to be the first name on it.

We wondered around a bit more and got a few more photos of people like Ambrose and Rollins (So cool to say I’ve seen him up close the day before he won the main event at WM…), before eventually deciding to queue up for R-Truth because the guys fucking hilarious. However, halfway through the queue… it rolled over to 8pm, which was the 2 hour mark. After 2 hours, all of the wrestlers change around… so it was a complete lottery as to who we’d be getting… I really didn’t want it to be one of those shit divas you only see on Total Divas, or some legend I didn’t care about… but it turned out to be Kane! I was delighted with that… while I’m sick of him as a wrestler now, I still loved him as a kid and appreciate him for his past. As I mentioned, he’s a very large man. He shook my hand, signed the shirt and posed for a photo and stuff… but he seemed… I dunno… kind of bored I’d say. Like he really couldn’t be arsed for 2 hours of this. Probably just from years of doing this sort of shit, or maybe he was just trying to stay in character. I dunno.

They also had an elimination chamber set up… I really wanted a photo with it, but the first 2 hours were with the Matadores who are shit. The 2nd two hours were with Big E and Xavier Woods though and… well, I actually really like Big E. They both seemed like really nice guys again and Big E is an absolute freak in terms of size, and for our photo, we had a “bicep competition” type thing… afterwards I told Big E that it was a close fought thing, but he’d probably just about edged it, to which he replied “yeah, only just though”. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t being sarcastic there.

Those were actually the only wrestlers we met on day one, as we spent a lot of the day watching what was happening in the main ring area, watching NXT matches. Hideo Itami had two matches, and boy, he’s mind blowing to watch in the ring. So brilliantly stiff. Day one was over before we knew it, and we headed back to our hotel to get some sleep before another Axxess early in the morning followed by Wrestlemania!

Day 2 axxess began and we got straight into the line for Luke Harper. Again, it was odd seeing a guy who plays such a weirdo in the ring just being a normal dude and he was very friendly and humble about the whole thing.

We then got straight into the line for Rusev… but as time went on, we started to approach that 2 hour mark and doubted that we’d see him. Sure enough, with about 2 or 3 people in front of us, it changed over… and once again, we got lucky with the replacement in Bo Dallas! I fucking love the guy. Though I didn’t actually recognise him at first with his goatee I told him I was a BOLIEVER which he seemed pretty pleased about and, as I seem to keep saying here, he seemed like a top bloke.

Walking around, I saw some cool people like HBK and Bret Hart as well.

We watched a little ring action… and noticed a huge queue building near by, even though no names were up for it… so we took a chance, jumped in the line, and hoped it’d be somebody worth seeing. Luckily, it was Roddy Piper and Ted Dibiase! However… we didn’t account for the fact that, with two people, the line would move slower… while most lines were about 30-40 minutes, this one took nearly TWO HOURS to get through. It wasn’t so bad, as the ring was right near us and we just watched some matches and a BNB Q+A session, but it was pretty gruelling. Still, it was worth it in the end though, Piper and Dibiase were awesome… and I asked Dibiase to “do the laugh”, which he did right on cue, and it instantly made the whole wait worth it. By this time, Axxess was over and it was time to head to Levi Stadium… on the way out, I quickly picked up a “Beast Incarnate” Lesnar shirt as well, because Lesnar is awesome.

There were buses outside the convention center taking us straight to the stadium, but traffic was nuts. We got there eventually though, and it was hot as hell. After a lot more queuing (which had a lot of “WOOOO!”, “YES!”, and “Daniel Bryan!” chants we finally got in there, and it was awesome seeing everybody run up the steps to get to their seats.

Man, what a stadium though. I just couldn’t get enough of it. We eventually found our seats… and were surprised! They were actually a hell of a lot closer than we thought they’d be… plus they came with take home seats! (more on that later…) They were literally on the first tiered part of all of the seating, and near enough right in the middle. Unfortunately, the big tent with the TV camera/technical area and stuff kind of blocked the view of the tron/ramp, though. After I found my seat, I went upstairs and got a bite to eat and a drink (in a collectable WM31 cup for $10 ) and then went back down to watch the preshow.

I’m actually still yet to watch WM31 on TV as of right now… so I’ve not really got an idea of how good the crowd seemed to be, but they seemed pretty damned hot where I was.

The opener tag match was pretty great and set the tone for things to come (the tone being that this was going to be an AWESOME experience). Some very good moments and I was delighted to see Kidd and Cesaro retain. Cesaro was over as FUCK.

The battle royale was good fun as well, but man, it’s hard as hell to keep track of who’s eliminated. People just seemed to randomly be missing at times, I guess I missed them getting eliminated. The Mizdow stuff was cool, and again, the crowd were nuts. Though I felt like it all dragged just a little more than it had too… and when Big Show, in an act of madness, actually won the fucking thing, EVERYBODY around me absolutely kicked up shit. HORRIBLE decision that nobody wanted to see happen.

Then the main show began and was kicked off by that really cool ladder match. It probably wasn’t the classic I thought it could have been, but there were some sick bumps. To be honest, as I’ve not rewatched any of it… I don’t actually remember much about it besides those sick bumps and a couple moments. For me, it‘s sort of like a drunk night out where you remember a few bits and pieces but you can’t quite put it all together in one flowing motion. Still cool though.

Then came Orton vs Rollins, which was brilliant. The crowd loved Seth, but to be fair they actually seemed to quite like Orton as well. Come the end of the match though, I think everybody was in admiration of both of them… due to THAT RKO. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. It’s probably one of the few occasions where I genuinely didn’t actually believe what I’d seen… I couldn’t make sense of it at first. It just looked like Seth went fucking MILES into the sky and got KILLED with an RKO. It was only when seeing the replays in slow motion that I realised that yes, it was actually as awesome as it appeared. I’ve seen many call it the best RKO ever… to me, fuck yeah it is, but I may be biased.

Then came Triple H vs Sting. Now, I’ve looked on here and around the internet, and it seems as if some people thought that Triple H’s entrance was awful. Which amazed me when I saw it, because if I’m honest, at that point it was the absolute highlight of the night. Maybe it just looked shit on TV or something, but in person it was AWESOME. And everybody around me seemed to think so too. I genuinely expected to come online afterwards and see it hailed as perhaps being the best WM entrance of all time. How wrong I was

As with the match… you all seem to have split opinions on that. For me though? It was actually the best match of the show. It was a clusterfuck, but for me it was AWESOME! When the NWO’s music hit I went nuts, and then again when DX came out… and then, actually, I saw HBK go right by where I was sat! So I knew the Sweet Chin Music was coming. But when Triple H won it, I was absolutely gobsmacked… it was the result I wanted, but I actually saw no chance of that happening.

Going into that match, as I said before, I was never a big Sting fan, simply because I’d never seen much of his matches. And when I asked for recommendations, they all seemed to be for matches that he was a part of with lots of people, not one on ones… however, he won me over that night. At 56 or whatever he was hardly a brilliant athlete, but he told his part of the story well and put on, as I said, my personal favourite match of the night.

AJ and Paige vs The Bellas was largely forgettable, but it was alright. It was always going to struggle coming after the massive spot/cameo fest before it.

Cena vs Rusev was fine, with the result we all knew was coming. The best part though was Rusevs entrance… that fucking TANK! Though Cena’s entrance kind of undid all of that… wanting to cringe to that video with a bunch of Americans around being all like “YOO ESS AY!” and that shit. Awkward.

Then… THE FUCKING ROCK! I watched an interview with him like the day before where he was asked where he’d be on Sunday, where he said “Don’t you worry where The Rock will be” so had a feeling he’d show up… but it still didn’t stop me MARKING THE FUCK OUT. I bought tickets never actually expected to see him. What a fucking treat. I saw a post in the WM31 thread from Renegade saying he felt bad for me after that segment, but worry not, it was one of the best parts of the show for me! I consider The Rock to be my number 2 guy in wrestling, to see him was an absolute BLAST. This being said… Two things:

1) Yeah, it went on a fair bit. Not that I cared, as I was simply staring at The Rock overwhelmed with the fact that I actually got to see him, but I can imagine finding it shit to watch on TV.

2) I’m not big on UFC… and I had NO FUCKING IDEA who Ronda Rousey was. As a matter of fact, before the show, she walked past my segment of the crowd and everybody went nuts pointing her out… I didn’t know what they were all getting excited about at first so I got excited thinking it’d be somebody cool… then realised it was just her. Let down… but yeah, I hated how over she was when I had no idea who she was I hated the segment being all about her, when I wanted it to be all about “HOLY SHIT, THE ROCK!”. I gathered she was a fighter, but that was it. This being said, her “any ring I step into is my ring” was pretty badass. So she won me over a little.

Taker vs Wyatt was… forgettable, but still. After I bought the tickets, I didn’t know if I’d see Taker. So many rumours were going about of him skipping a year… To see him enter at WM live was one of the main things I wanted to see in all of Wrestling, and it was every bit as magical as I hoped it would be. Yes, they both could have done with darkness, but what are you gonna do? Taker looked healthy, and it wasn’t actually until after the show that I read about Wyatts injury, so as somebody who wasn’t looking out for it, it wasn’t noticeable.

Then that main event… wow. Lesnar was OVER. Reigns was HATED. Crowd were all over this match. Everything Reigns did (how little of it there was) was booed to shit. Every single suplex got a reaction akin to a goal being scored in a title deciding match.

There was a fair bit of “BULLSHIT” chant after Reigns kicked out of yet another F-5 as people already assumed Reigns was winning, but now they were just going too far making him invincible like that… but to be fair, from what I saw of this, as he so often does, Reigns was actually pretty great in the match. Sold the punishment really well and his laughing towards the end was well done. He came across as a total badass an- WHAT’S THIS, SETH ROLLINS?!

The place EXPLODED. Is this what I think it is… he’s cashing in! Holy shit!

And then commences the tensest part of the show. Are they actually going to make the best move they’ve made in years and have Seth cash in to take the title? Or will they make the worst move in years and not only have Reigns win, but fuck over Seth as well?

They went with option A and… well, as I said elsewhere on here, I probably did permanent damage to my vocal chords. High fives were flying around… I was hugging and high fiving people I’d never met. I was this crazed nutter wearing a Lesnar shirt going ballistic that Lesnar had lost his title to Seth. It was crazy for about 10 minutes from that point onwards. Such a perfect move. All three come out looking brilliant and the crowd are more than satisfied. Kudos, WWE.

So yeah, what more can I say? If I were still doing my WM marathon, it’d be a 10/10 for me, but as I said, I’m biased. Even if I hadn’t gone, I can’t imagine it being lower than an 8 or a 9 though. Am I biased here, or was it really that great?

I’ll quickly talk about Raw, as my hands are hurting from typing now It was fun as hell. The “John Cena sucks” chant was brilliant fun, and kind of confirmed my long standing theory that people don’t necessarily hate Cena as much as they enjoy hating him, if you get what I mean. For example, everybody know that I’m the NO.1 CENAR FAN on here, right? Well, I was signing “JOHN CENA SUUUUCKS!” just as loud as everybody else in that arena that night Not because I think he sucks, simply because it was fun.

But yeah, shame about the main event… but Neville and The Lucha Dragons were superb. And Lesnar. THAT FUCKING MAN. Probably the most outright fun man to watch over the two shows. I went crazy for the Michael Cole F5, of course.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about my WM chair by the way. I carried it all the way back to the hotel, but it was obviously too big for my suitcase. The next day we set about looking at options to send it back home… we found that we had a UPS in our hotel, so asked them about it and were quoted at $400 per chair As much as we wanted to keep them, that was madness. In the end, my brother actually went onto a wrestling forum and offered them to people to come and collect them… ended up meeting two guys from San Jose after Raw who picked them up for $330 for the pair. A very low price as they go for much more on ebay… but we needed to get rid that night as we were off to Vegas the next day, plus, as I said, we didn’t even know we’d be getting the fucking things! So basically, we made $115 each back from our tickets for something we didn’t even know we were getting, which is pretty cool.

So in a list then… going on this trip I:

Saw various wrestlers such as HBK, Bret Hart, Rollins, Ambrose, AJ, Mark Henry and a fuck ton more.

Had up close personal meetings with Tyler Breeze, Kane, Roddy Piper, Dibiase, Bo Dallas, Xavier Woods and Big E.

Got to see absolute LEGENDS of the ring such as The Rock, HBK, Hogan, Triple H, Sting, Undertaker in the ring ON ONE NIGHT… and Mick Foley out of the ring as well! Nearly forgot that. Before the show a random “Foley” chant seemed to break out… I looked around and saw everybody looking at a balcony, where, sure enough, Foley was stood waving to everybody!

I got to see all of the best and biggest names of the modern era.

I got to see a Lesnar match (a rarity!) and see him live TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!

I can actually say I’ve seen AJ Lee’s last two matches in WWE.

I saw Seth Rollins get what will probably be the biggest, most important moment of what is sure to be an epic career.

So was it worth the money? The 11 hour flight? Absolutely. As I said before, after this, I have no intention of letting WM32 pass me by. As great as you think going and doing this stuff will be, it will honestly exceed your expectations. I consider it to be the best weekend of my life.
