He is your midfielder that does the dirty stuff which you need in this cesspit division.

To be fair, Dagenham is the biggest cesspit in the division, so I guess you'd know.

RM:
CM: Courtney Richards
CM: Ryan Lloyd
CM:

Still a lot of signings to be made,

Stronger squad to start the season. We'll be there or thereabouts for the title again.

Dunn, Hughes, Buxton/Vaughan and rumours we have had an offer for Amond accepted. We also have Luke Pilling coming through, Wales u21 keeper coming through who got 'keeper of the Toulon Tournament.

Available on day one:

-------------------- Davies -------------------
Buxton --- Sutton --- McNulty --- Ridehalgh
------------------- Hughes ------------------
Norwood --- Norburn --- C.Jennings --- Dunn
-------------------- Cook ----------------------

Subs: 5 of Wharton, Duggan, Gumbs, Clarke, Almond, Dawson, Mangan.

Bear in mind we'd need to fit Harris, Wallace, Tollitt and Kirby back into the squad as and when they are fit. We're not too far away - if Pilling and Vaughan sign, we'd just need another 'big' striker, a quick CB and defensive midfielder and we're away. About 3-5 more signings in total I think.

I'm pretty happy with what we have so far, although obviously there are still another 10 signings to be made. Askey has done his usual good business on a relatively low budget. I would think 5/6 of the 8 signed so far would be certain starters with Richards probably unlikely to make the starting XI, particularly if he's as limited as the Torquay fans described.

He must have played really badly in those 2 games for you to hate him this much!

The two single worst games I've ever seen from a professional keeper. And I've seen Chris MacKenzie.

Hahaha, what did he do?!
He made a few clangers with us the first time he was with us, but was probably our 2nd best out of the 6 or 7 keepers we've had at this level since 2012.

Similar thread was done on our board and was interested in how our new friends down here are shaping up. Admittedly, I don't really know the players to look out for in this league, the only names I'll probably know are those who've played in L1 and L2 over the last few years, but anyway might relieve the summer boredom to see how other sides look on paper.

Ours is probably something like this (at the moment)

Scott Loach

Carl Magnay
Scott Harrison
Brad Walker/ Matty Bates
Blair Adams

Ryan Donaldson
Luke George
Nicky Deverdics
Jack Munns

Jake Cassidy
Padraig Amond

Subs: No keeper yet, Kenton Richardson, Liam Donnelly, Woods, Rhys Oates, Nicky Featherstone, Devante Rodney.

Still short of a couple for me. I'd like an out and out left winger if we go 442 (or maybe young Blackford will finally get a shot?), another centre back and centre midfield to slot straight in.

Hard to say if that side is stronger than last season but it's no worse that's for sure. May even be slightly better.

Interested to see how Harrison sees the midfield shaping up. We essentially have 2 defensive midfielders and 3 attacking midfielders, with no wingers. It might be that Donaldson and Munns are to be used as wingers, but from what I have read that isn't either of their best positions. I do hope Deverdics gets a fair crack this year, though. If Oates and Walker both leave, I think Harrison needs to sign 3 players still at a minimum, with a loan or two on top.

It's gunna be a long old season, and I don't think we have the depth currently. Strong XI, but any injuries and we look rather weak IMO. Hopefully a CB (if Walker goes), winger, striker and reserve GK and reserve LB still to come.

The cross has come on from the left, that's Flint (unmarked tbf) heading into an empty net because Jalal is doing God knows what. He also let in a near post shot v Peterborough when he was stood on the near post and Baldock's opener for Bristol City was also a near post finish when he was positioned on the near post. Only 60% of the goals he conceded were his fault (although Flint's header is still probably a goal, but that isn't the point)...

Keeper defence and the heart of the midfield will be:

Worner

Amankwaah
Collins
Beckwith
Thomas

Bailey
Davis
Eastmond

We will have around eight players to choose to play in the forward areas. Dos likes to play with wide men so We have four strikers fighting for just one spot! It's going to be an interesting preseason.

LB - Tyrone Sterling

RM - Adam Mekki
CM - Josh Rees
CM - Jordan Higgs
LM - Luke Wanadio

Need another centre midfielder as a top priority as I'm not convinced by Jordan Higgs, and a centre back and another striker too.

I'm glad we don't have to face you next year. Bit of an unfair advantage me thinks!

Given that we've done almost all of our business (I would say one player left to sign), I reckon we could line up something like this first game...

Nathan Ashmore

Marvin McCoy*
Dave Winfield
Kenny Clark
Jack Connors

Anthony Cook*
Jack Payne
Andy Drury
Myles Weston

Darren McQueen*
Danny Mills

Subs: Jon Miles (GK), Yado Mambo, Jack Powell, Bagasan Graham, Aaron McLean

* - I'm not 100% these guys will start.

Still think we need another defender who can play anywhere across the back and that side is also missing Danny Kedwell, Dean Rance and Sean Shields (could end up going out on loan) who have been excellent for us. McMahon certainly has a job on his hands! I think we'll be very, very strong going forward.

Ebbsfleet are 33/1 at Betstars to win the league. Not that I think they will, but that's generous value right there.
I'm not sure they're quite that good right now, but a top 8 finish should be very achievable. If Dover can make the play-offs then so can the Fleet though...

I'm still saying an upper mid table finish for us.

Play offs maybe possible, but I'd take a mid table finish all day long in our first season back.

Quite an interesting piece: our manager reckons more teams might be splashing the cash, with more play-off places up for grabs. Names Ebbsfleet as one of them, though it seems more of an off-the-cuff remark about promoted sides in general.
