I'm talking here about League and play-off games and cup ties etc, excluding finals at neutral grounds. Non segregated claims are accepted as many people will have experiences going way back into the mists of time, before segregation was even thought of.

We sold 6000 tickets for the FA Cup game at Bolton in 1980, after we beat Man City, although some claim to have bought tickets in the home end and found they were far from being the only Shaymen in there. In my lifetime, but before I became an active Shayman, we are said to have taken 10,000 to Stoke City in 1969, also in the FA Cup (25000+ attended the replay). We had over 2000+ at Morecambe and Kidderminster, in our Conference winning year 1997/98. In more modern times we asked for 2000 but were allocated 1000 tickets for the Conference North Semi and Final at both Guisely and Brackley in 2013, and sold out both allocations within hours and took 1100 to Cambridge for the televised play-off semi final 2nd leg in 2014.

Let's have your contributions...….

Summer of '69.

OK, late spring. And The Dale and the Shaymen both going for promotion.

30/4/69 - Rochdale 1-0 Halifax; 8/5/69 Halifax 1-0 Rochdale.

Even though they were both evening games, I bet a few thousand away fans went to each.

We took 8,000 to Villa Park in 1975 for our 2nd leg of the League Cup Semi Final. We lost narrowly 5-4 on aggregate.

Yes indeed, they're saying up to 6000 away fans at both games on our forum.

Pretty sure Alfreton took nigh on a 1,000 to our FA Cup First Round Replay at Macclesfield in 2004/05. The first team we had got to the first Round in 21 years.

Think we had 3,000 at Everton and Norwich both FA Cup. League I thinks it’s just over a thousand at Peterborough in League 1. If your taking about pre merger/new entity clubs I understand there were tens of thousands that went to Old Trafford in the 50’s for Walthamstow Avenue.

I think we had about 2500 at Portsmouth in the 14/15 FA Cup, and a similar number at West Ham when we beat them in the Carling Cup.

In my lifetime, 10,000 to Sunderland in the cup. Another big following was when we took about 6000 (?) to Darlo in 2007 I think it was.

Trip up Plough Lane midweek. Gate was just under eight thousand and we had more than half. Don't remember the year exact, late seventies though. Proper football days those were.

Play off finals at neutral grounds. So I can count the South play off final at Farnborough (against Farnborough)? Had 2,158 there, which was more than they had! Record attendance at that ground also.

Have regularly had 1,000+ at Dartford in recent years.

A few years before I started attending, but we took 6,000 to Villa in 96 for an FA Cup third round game.

Absolute shite again today. No striker worth his salt, shambles of a defence and let's not even start on the midfield.

I think a bot algorithm has worked out you can randomly plonk this in 99% of threads in the non-league forum and it'll fit in fine.

Oh dear B2TF, no chance of a thread about piss poor home attendances eh? But let me indulge your love of picking fun at a certain club.....420 odd for Harrogate's trip to York city last season.

Was incidentally my last game watching Town, majority were day trippers who left their voices in harrogate, overseen by our own twatishly officious stewards, over seeing a bunch of bandwagon jumping twonks who get this level of football in the sameway your average Man U fan from Surrey does.

Just think this is the calibre of club getting bigger gates than the mighty Shaymen. Disgraceful.

Stop bullying Halifax - you can’t expect a club that’s only been going for 10 years to have the sort of fan base that Harrogate can muster.

Don't worry B2TF gets off on it.

Its the futility he enjoys.

He realises that with only that short period of history to attract fans to the Shay they will always struggle to match the north Yorkshire hotbed of football.

Hayes away in the conference on the final day to win promotion gates was 3,300 ish and we had around 2,700
Other than that, about 1700 went down the road to Lincoln first time in the league
Going back before my lifetime about 10k went to Tottenham in the 50s and 6k went to Derby the 2nd time in early 70s

At the other end, we had nine at Brighton in the ldv vans trophy and I went to Witton Albion in the trophy 3 times in 2016. First game abandoned, 2nd one called off at 7pm then 3rd go we didn't run a bus and I think there were about 9 or ten of us, majority not Boston based
We went to kiddy last year in a trophy replay not segregated although they stated 10 away fans, I counted 13 of us in a block at the far end of a stand. Again many of them exiles

7,000 at Villa Park for a League Cup semi-final in 1994, and 6,000 at Goodison to see us humiliate the hosts in 2001.

We possibly took more fans to big FA Cup ties in the fifties and sixties, particularly Huddersfield and Everton in 1968, but figures are not available.

Oh dear, we had more than that at Morecambe last week, not even a Derby match, no win since August, not bandwaggoners, all committed die-hard Shaymen too. Vive la Difference.:ds:

When you've had 8000 through your gates twice in last 4 years, we can talk a bit more about that if you like. :ds:
