We have a mean defence and won’t concede many. But unless we strengthen we won’t create or score many either. Pompey looked useful and we probably got them at the best possible time this season before they get well and truly ‘warmed up’.

Wonder strike settled it. This is the most impressive defence in many many seasons but unless we sign a creative midfielder and another forward we will struggle to score. Pompey will do well this season. Encouraging start but much work to be done.

Fair do’s. But I think Lincoln will finish at least 10 points behind Shrewsbury imo especially if they are hoping that thug Rhead will score them goals. That said; Payne is a quality signing. And please....Donny had one good season and have since lost their manager. If they are top 10 this year...

Based on what? Your checkatrade win over us? Your extensive knowledge of league 1 football? Your knowledge of Shrewsbury and how we intend to play or something else entirely before the close season has even been brought to a close? Truth is no one knows where anybody will end up and most teams...

Good solid display at Gillingham yesterday, we have just come good at the right time after a dreadful season. Have to say Gills were awful, not at all what I expected....looked like their players were mentally already on their summer holidays. One more point from Oxford or Walsall at home...
