15/21, just one point off where I expected us to be, which is acceptable.

Only real disappointment this month came against Dagenham, Sutton you have to accept as Bradley Wood was an idiot, but we should've taken at least a point off the former with that performance.

Barrow (A) - LOSE
Maidstone (H) - WIN
Wrexham (H) - LOSE
Bromley (A) - DRAW
Braintree (A) - WIN
North Ferriby (H) - WIN
Dover (A) - LOSE

10/21

Got Braintree and Dover the wrong way round and significantly underestimated how we would do against Wrexham.

Overall, 13 points and 5th in the table doesnt leave too much to complain about. Good start

I think you're right, that's got to be at least 5-6 years ago now. I'm going for a draw in that game.

Torquay (H) - Win
York (A) - Draw
Braintree (A) - Draw
Southport (H) - Win
Sutton (A) - Lose
Lincoln (H) - Draw
Solihull (A) - Win

12/21 points
We finished with 12 points, which is what I predicted. Not good enough against the better sides but it's a decent start. Some easy games next month will hopefully see us push on up the table.

A good month for us would certainly have taken it however apart from eastleigh and maybe barrow we have not played any of the so called challengers yet. Although in saying that i dont think barnet won a game against any of the top 5 the year they went up

BULLISH!

I predicted 16 and we've got 11. I actually got the last four games right.

11 points is ok but we've been poor in every game so far. Some slight improvements of late (Daggers excepted) will hopefully continue into September.

9/21, only losing to 2 of the title favourites, I'll take that
One point more than I predicted, only got the Aldershot late defeat and the Braintree win wrong. All in all a good start with a tough fixture list, buzzing!

Dag & Red (A) L 0-1
Southport (H) W 4-0

We don't beat Woking and we haven't won at Macc since Sutton's first away game in charge(?), so that's 6 points down.

Got to fancy us to get 3 wins from the home games, so I'll go similar to GodsGift and go for 10-12 points.
Good month for us.

Finally won at Woking, finally won at Macc, finally beat Gateshead. Large part of the Sutton game with 10 men and probably slightly unfortunate not to take a point at Dagenham. Plenty of goals, too!

What a funny old month for us, literally scraped in V York and Gateshead, then cruised in the last 2 with a loss at the start. Maybe we are finding the anti dandruff shampoo at last, or does this mean FGR fans getting in a lather again before the pitches get sticky and the passes slow down.

8 points out of 21 is clearly nowhere near good enough for our chairman's stated aim of top 5. There are some encouraging signs, but plenty of discouraging ones too and we're going to need to pick it up soon to have any chance of getting where we want to be. We now have Solihull (H), Torquay (A) and Tranmere (H) to take us to ten games and probably need 7 points from those to take the pressure off a bit. I can see us getting 4 points.

Weird month for us too. I've gone from being optimistic to pessimistic to optimistic now back to pessimistic (or realistic). Thought we'd get at least 4 points from the weekend just gone which would have left us comfortably in the play offs. We were unlucky not to take at least 2 points from the weekend's games and with the right team selection we have enough about us to challenge at the top end of the table again this year.

Only 3 points from the play offs, if we can fix whatever's wrong ASAP then we're in with a chance, and we have a good chance to stop the rot at Southport next week. If Kinnear fails to open his eyes then our season will be over by Christmas and we'll be mid table mediocrity.

16 out of 21, slightly disappointing given fact we are quite clearly HEAD AND SHOULDERS above most of the rest of this league yet again this season, but I'll take second at this stage. Tranmere can keep top spot warm for us for a bit longer if they like, got to keep it interesting for a while at least. ;)

10 points from 21. Slow and steady start.
5 points more than my ultra conservative prediction. Sutton was a bit of a one-off, so I'll let that slide, but I was disappointed we didn't pick up a point at Dag & Red.

Well my predictions were terrible. Could've expected us to avoid draws again, which has resulted in a month of highs and (very low) lows.

Curzon Ashton (A) Win - Want to start off well - Win Couldn't have started better than with a 6-1 win
Brackley (H) Win - Basing this off their position last season - Loss Disapointing result
Chorley (H) Win - They have Josh O'Keefe - Draw Couldn't break them down
Nuneaton (A) Lose - Tough team to face away - Win Nuneaton were very poor and need to improve quicky if they want to survive
Stalybridge (H) Win - Seem to be people's favourites to go down - Win Made it tough for ourselves but managed to win
Boston (A) Lose - Tough away game - Draw Better than I predicted but still should have won
Alty (H) Draw - Can't separate us - Win Basically same as Nuneaton

13/21 I'd be happy with that start.
14/21 Great start and at the end of August we're in the playoffs.

14/21. Solid

A point less than I optimistically predicted, but I'm more than happy with our start. Chester was a blip, although in saying that it won't be the last time that happens this season to us

Newcastle Town (A) - Draw Lost
Chasetown (H) - Lose Lost
Northampton Sileby Rangers (FAC) (H) - Win Won
Carlton Town (A) - Win Won
Bedworth United (H) - Lose Won

Difficult to predict as I really don't know too much about the division beyond looking at last year's tables. Bedworth are a real unknown having come down from the SLP. Carlton were one of the worse sides last season, while Chasetown just missed out on the playoffs. Newcastle Town were mid-table. I expect us to start poorly to the season for some reason, but even so we should get a result in the FA Cup against UCL opposition so long as we turn up and take it seriously.

Despite the fact that we secured more points than I predicted I somehow feel as if we have under-performed expectations. We've been a bit leaky at the back and goal shy going forwards. We have improved on both as the month went on however, in line with my expectation of a slow start.

I'm starting to think that the better teams in this league are no better than the better teams in the SLD1C last season, but the worse teams aren't as bad making the average slightly higher.

Didn't make any predictions, but I'd imagine I'd have got this pretty much spot on:

(copied from our forum)
AUGUST
W Sat 6th: Barrow 1 - 0 Aldershot Town (Hughes) - Att 1664
L Tues 9th: Tranmere Rovers 2 - 0 Barrow - Att 4977
D Sat 13th: Torquay United 1 - 1 Barrow (Turnbull) - Att 2207
W Tues 16th: Barrow 3 - 2 Chester (Hannah, Williams 2) - Att 1351
L Sat 20th: Dover Athletic 3 - 1 Barrow (Hannah pen) - Att 837
W Sat 27th: Barrow 2 - 1 Braintree Town (Bennett, Harrison) - Att 966
W Mon 29th: North Ferriby United 0 - 1 Barrow (Bennett) - Att 581

I'd fancy us to beat almost anyone at home, and lose a lot away - maybe would have expected defeat at Torquay, but 13 points is good going, as we've not been great so far.

15 points, 19 goals and 3rd is a very good start for team that firing on all cylinders yet.
You can tell some of the players are being nursed back from injuries or not had a full pre-season as we've rotated quite a bit would expect that to be less as the season goes.
Biggest bonus our crowds, averaging over 3200 so far this season 500 more than last season.
