Huge game for both sides, this. I've seen Mansfield's run in and it looks really tough, so imagine they'll see this game as a must win.

Equally, for us, if we get the win it will put some daylight between us and we then go into a home game against Newport.

One thing's for sure, we must sort out defence out as we can't rely on our forwards to keep getting us out of trouble. We will have to reshuffle the back four as Craig Woodman is out with a broken arm so it's probable that Moore-Taylor will switch to left back and Luke Croll or Pierce Sweeney will play CB with Troy Brown.

Mansfield will be tough opposition so I'd be content with a draw but we're due another away win so will predict a 1-0 win. Watkins to score.

Watkins is almost certainly going to get 1 after our attempt at getting him in Jan... Must win game for us, Can't afford to lose ground on those ahead of us. A win might put us into the top 7 with Doncaster away next week.

Think Exeter will win 2-1 despite Mansfield having several million chances.

Big game.

4 points from the 2 home games against Exeter and Luton is a must.

Whereas I do think we'll ultimately fall just short (please be wrong!) a win here would be a big boost.

Ironically I was in Exeter last weekend for a mates 30th (watching the Chiefs) and spoke to some city fans after the game at some place called the Waterfront - or watersign (or something, it looked posh) who seemed cracking guys and were looking forward to the game.

Expecting a decent following?

That's funny, I was at the Chiefs with work on a hospitality do last weekend. They have an incredible setup there, reeling in the extra income that a lot of footy clubs could learn from. This is the second year in a row we've been and will continue to go. They played crap but still won! #rugbychat.

The Waterfront is the bar/restaurant place down on the quay. Fantastic pizzas in there!

Anyway enough of this Exeter praise malarkey. Big game for both sides this weekend. Possibly bigger for Mansfield and being the home team who are running out of games.

Yeah, the set-up was really impressive - they were playing Sale from Manchester where we live, so everyone had someone to support - and yes, the game was poor - i was in the standing area across from the main stand. I'm unique in that i've an equal love of both rugby and football - lots could be learnt from the rugby sides in terms of finances. We stayed in a place called Budleigh Salterton by the coast - very decent!

Anyway! - yes, the game is massive - though we always seem to struggle against Devon clubs

yeah the cricket pitch is basically at sea level, I think it might even be lower than most of the beach... i've seen a few county matches down there. and the odd otter or two just upstream!

Ha small world - it was near the Dog & Donkey - apparently I was informed a once popular pub near to the co-op had recently closed or something? how weird is all that.

Anyway, after this love in, sorry to all the football lot out there wishing to speak about the football.

Reuben Reid loves his last ditch goals. Fucking love that guy.

To be fair it sounded like we were second best in the first half and they caused us plenty of problems. Massive big up to Christy Pym for pulling off an amazing save in injury time....

But, we kept going and had our chances too. Harley is frustrating but scores some important goals and with Reid coming off the bench we've got a quality striker at this level.

Huge win and we have to cement our play off place against Newport next week.

Love football sometimes. Hard luck Mansfield....sounds like we mugged you a bit.

Think we got what we deserved in the end. Exeter were there for the taking but once again we didn't take our chances. It's obvious we are lacking a striker with that clinical edge. Stupid challenge in the last seconds for the pen, the weak ref was always going to give it whether it was genuine or not (can't say as too far away). He was going nowhere and Exeter had settled for the draw. For what it's worth, Exeter look to have some quality up front and should do well in the play-offs.

As usual I am spot on.

We were the better team overall, but in the last twenty minutes Exeter pushed on and we sat back and got what we deserved when they made it 1-1. Then the penalty which I didn't see.

Only can blame ourself for not being clinical and putting the game to bed when we were making great chances.

Shaq Coulthirst was wank btw, if he learnt to get his head up/stop being a greedy bastard he be a good player.

We completely beat ourselves, were our own worst enemy, in the first half we crucified Exeter, we should and could have been 2 or 3 up without any fuss.

Evans had a big part to play in this, Exeter aren't and haven't been on the run they've been on for no reason - they're a good side with a good manager. Had he kept playing the way we played in the first half we would have won, we were far better.

Inviting sides like that on didn't work for adam Murray and it doesn't work now, fucking stop it. Seriously it doesn't work.

I've respect for Exeter, they kept with us in the first half when we could have blown them away, they kept within touch and did what they needed to when they needed to do it. I can't help but feel annoyed that I should be typing this having won 2 or 3-0 but you live and learn.

The playoffs are gone, but we can plot and plan for what should be a very promising and exciting 2017/18 season.

His ball distribution during the attacks late on in the game were infuriating, evans should give him a clout round the head

I guess Mansfield's run in looks terrible but still wouldn't rule yourselves out as there will be plenty of twists and turns to come.

Either way I expect Evans will get it right some time soon as he's a proven track record of getting teams promoted.

Believe me, on the (very real) assumption were here next season we expect top 7 as the very minimum, there's little doubt in that from the chairman or the manager.

We showed glimpses today but were caught short, annoying though it was Exeter played today superbly. Had we had a finisher upfront we'd have ran into the distance with the points before the chance happened.

You've an alright side....

Yep, it sounded like you caused us many problems in the first half. A decent striker would have a field day against our defence.

Luckily for us we score lots of goals...Watkins, Wheeler and Reid have 38 league goals between them which is why we have a chance of making it into the playoffs, then who knows...

Exeter are a good side, I can see them winning the play offs, as they're as good a team as we've had up at Field Mill this season. They look very fit and organised and always look likely to score goals.

Us? We're still not quite the finished article, we're a goalscorer away from being amongst the best company in the division. It's not to be this year but I already fancy us for next season.

Agreed.

I think this season will be remembered for trying to hold on to a lead and failing miserably - i don't understand why we try it - it just simply doesn't work.

Exeter were indeed a good side, very decent - but for the 1st 55 minutes we dominated the game completely - and should have been further infront.

The fact we went defensive handed the initiative to Exeter - sides like that don't need a 2nd chance and they could sense the nervousness in the crowd - mainly as it just never, ever works.

The penalty was very, very soft - but if you give a poor ref like that a decision to make (not using him as an excuse) then there's a chance you might pay the penalty (literally).

I couldn't help but go away from the game thinking it wasn't Exeter that beat us, it was ourselves. I like Tisdale, classy and crafty as a manager.
