A fred where we might sort our socialists from our soc dems, our Ian Wrexhams from our "V"s, and maybe better infer the political tradition of some of the more ambiguous outliers in this section.

To kick us off: a totally fool-proof and scientific "are you a Marxist?" questionnaire.

Private property is the essential right of every human being

A) Agree Strongly, B) Agree, C) Neutral, D) Disagree, E) Disagree Strongly

It is human nature to be selfish and greedy

A) Agree Strongly, B) Agree, C) Neutral, D) Disagree, E) disagree Strongly

It is only fair that someone with a more valued skillset may earn four times as much as you do within the same hours.

A) Agree Strongly, B) Agree, C) Neutral, D) Disagree, E) Disagree Strongly

We will always need a state or some other hierarchical structure to keep us safe from the worst impulses of others.

A) Agree Strongly, B) Agree, C) Neutral, D) Disagree, E) Disagree Strongly

The best idea usually wins out, regardless of concrete, material struggle towards that end

A) Agree Strongly, B) Agree, C) Neutral, D) Disagree, E) Disagree Strongly

Mostly E's: You are now ready to start changing material reality. Congratulations.
Mostly D's: You've made it to Wigan Pier. Who is your favourite Milliband? If the answer isn't Ralph, then you still have work to do.
Mostly C's: You read Plato's Republic at university and he stuck you in a different cave. You're not ready.
Mostly B's: Your political heroes are Trey Parker and Matt Stone. "Holding sincere beliefs makes you a fucking loser," but you're first on the scene if someone slanders your favourite video game.
Mostly A's: "The state simply cannot afford to pay for cancer treatments anymore."

If you've ever wondered where you'd sit on the Russian political spectrum in September 1917 this quiz is for you (and asks similar questions to the OP but in the context of the Russian Revolutions).

Somewhere to the right of Alexander Dubrovin, I imagine.

Do the quiz please Scumbag.

If you favour continuing the imperialist campaign in Eastern Anatolia plus the restoration of the Tsar, those options are there.

A dreaded Left Socialist Revolutionary. Probably explains why I'm always at loggerheads with Marxist-Leninists on Facebook. Some Stalinists might even think me worse than a liberal...

Oh well. Execution or a Siberian slave labour camp for me, then.

By Cadet do they mean Constitutional Democrats (normally called the K-D or Kadets) that were a leading party in the Provisional Government? If so, your prospects look pretty strong - the leading Kadets had a pretty strong survival rate. Several leading Kadets aligned themselves with the Bolsheviks and spent the rest of their days in the USSR - others joined the Whites and ended up in exile.

The anarchists, by contrast, mostly got murdered in the 1920s

They probably do; and, if so, I've erred here. I saw Cadet and immediately thought of the Cadet Corps. So far as I understand, most of them were promptly offed after the Russian Civil War.

Exile isn’t too bad. Reassuring to know that your lot would have been shot instead.

In my lovely part of Tower Hamlets we recently received a Marxist newspaper through the letterbox. Opening page was about the evil Tories and the imminent collapse of Western society. And then a random collection of articles including one inviting me to "remember and celebrate the Russian Revolution". I had to laugh out loud at the rather sanguine "though of course not everything worked out for the best..." line buried halfway through the piece.

I'm a frightfully boring centrist, by the way.
