Apparently Hawkridge has doubled his wage at Notts County. I don't think he'd have been among the high earners here last season, because we signed him the season before. No brainer if it's a double your wage, an extra year and go back home decision. I think it'll work out well for everyone.

And we couldn't get anywhere near the fee that Mansfield have paid for Angol. Not even half way there, so it's probably £200k+.

EDIT - Probably of interest to Notts fans about Hawkridge. http://www.gerritforward.com/lincoln-fans-view-terry-hawkridge/

Our fee has doubled already to get him to here instead of Lincoln, and obviously County would have to double the wage of somebody to get them to leave Lincoln too!

I didn't realise playing for Lincoln was such a ambition for lower league players.

I don't doubt we have offered Angol better wages, suggesting we have had to chuck a extra 100k on top just to make sure he signs is ridiculous to suggest though.

The lure of being coached by the Cowleys is worth an extra £100k fee paid by another club or an extra £1000pw in wages!

We're due to announce Scott Wiseman and Joe Anyon from Scunthorpe as new signings later on this morning, to add to Bradley Barry who joined from Swindon yesterday. Also due to announce David Brooks on loan from Sheff Utd in the next few days as part of the Ched Evans deal..

4 very solid signings IMO, and it's our defence pretty much sorted for next season bar a left wing back which i presume is one of Caldwells top priorities as we only have Donohue who can play there at the club. Anyon will provide good competition for Tommy Lee who is due to be back fit ready for pre season, a massive positive after he missed the whole of last season, and I'm expecting Scott wiseman to slot in as the right sided centre back of the three (With Evatt and Hird).

Our first foray into the transfer market this summer and I expect us to be doing a lot more business from this point onwards. 1x Left back, 2x central midfielders, 1x Winger and atleast one striker have to be the main priorities now!

You Blues!! ⚪

FGR sign Lee Collins from Mansfield. Thoughts?

Collins is a weird one that i have absolutely no idea what his best position is. He's just okay everywhere, but you always have in the back of your mind that you could get better. Should be decent enough for FGR in their first season back.

I would have kept him here as back up mind, just for his versatility.

It'll have been Barry Fry playing silly beggars and telling you we had an agreement for 'x', which was above what it actually was. This is a guy who's been telling everyone we paid a £100k loan fee for Angol for two months (although he changed that to £150k a couple of weeks back), when it was about £10k-£15k.

As part of the loan, we had an option in place to sign him on the basis we got promoted in a deal worth £100k with the initial fee close to our record (£75k).

Truth is, we'd probably not have been able to get to Angol's wage anyway or not prepared to. It would have relied on Posh doing something for us on the final year of his deal.

Coventry signed Marc McNulty. Very good signing for L2 I reckon.

Maybe not Luke, All I know is there's loads of add-on, clauses etc in it but I doubt we have paid 200k+ for him.

I cannot imagine the Radfords are push overs in negotiations.

It's a two year deal with a option for a third too, we rarely get to find out the lengths of contracts.

Hearing that Shaun Pearson is in talks with Mansfield, still can't get my head round why we didn't offer him a contract. I hope Slade's got a good replacement lined up.

Centre back ain't he? Be at least 4th choice so I don't get that.

We played him at Left Back when we had him 2009-11 and he was one that we expected to go on to big things but didn't materialise for him after he got into trouble with Gary Roberts.

The bloke who broke the Pope Rumours suggests Tyler Walker may be coming back after injuring himself last season soon after joining on loan.

Would be happy with a Pope and Walker partnership.

Rigino Cicilia is the latest of Bruno's foreign signings to be released a year early. Cult hero because he was so unorthodox and will be remembered as he bamboozled centre halves that hadn't a clue what he was going to do next... neither did Big Reg! Feel sorry for him as wanted him to succeed but assume he will go back to the Eredivisie.

Sam Kelly has also left (rumoured for Shrewsbury oddly!) pretty much won goal of the season awards a couple of seasons back on his own with three stunning goals but other than that he was never able to push on. Fans happy to see him gone.

Get Walker and Warnock and we will be shaping up nicely assuming Bikey and Eagles sign new deals.

We were very close to signing Luke Waterfall from Lincoln City, but he opted to sign a new contract to stay.

Yeah CB, although I've just heard he's signed for Wrexham so looks like that was bullshit that I heard earlier about talking to Mansfield or surely he would've chosen League 2 over Conference.

We've signed Rod McDonald from Northampton. Honestly never heard of him but good to see us getting business done early.

Good as it's heavily rumoured that he will sign for us after his wife gives birth.
Yeah seems pretty imminent, his wife gave birth yesterday morning.
After the season he just had its no surprise that he looks to be moving higher up so good luck to him.

Dannie Bulman has re-signed for Crawley. Despite nearing pension age :bg: he could still do a job in L2. Pleased for him.
