Things going dreadfully for Dundee in the league so far, but at least they got their revenge on Utd in the league cup last week, much good that it did them though seeing as they then drew Celtic! :ffs:

There is no hope against Celtic mate, they are the irresistible force of the league and there are no immovable objects to oppose them, certainly not Dundee even in a cup tie.

Isn't he a bit of a hot head wherever he goes..

Not a quiet one on the touchline.

I'm not a massive fan of Lennon as a person. Certainly he is a poor loser, loses his temper easily and has been involved in some unsavoury incidents in the past.

That said, his history with Rangers goes back what, 15 years? God knows how many incidents between Rangers and Celtic, bullets in the post etc. Today, Rangers go one nil up and give him a load of abuse. Hibs go on to win the game, and Neil Lennon cupping his ears is now inflammatory. Everyone that was happy giving it out at 1-0 up can't take someone cupping their ears when losing? 30 people call the police, the Rangers Assistant Manager speaks to the police and the 2nd largest shareholders group release a statement that looks like it should have been written in blue crayon. I just find the whole thing absolutely incredible.

Right as for the statement that you produce....To be honest, no I'm not embarrassed, although I don't give much thought to such utterances, and I'll explain why. I'll say from the start that perhaps I'm in a minority but whatever actions or gestures that players or managers fling back at the crowd doesn't bother me in the slightest....If the supporters are big enough to dish it out then they should be big enough to accept what they receive in return. However Neil Lennon courts controversy and his actions could be (and were) seen by some is incitement and inflammatory and he does have previous at Ibrox. I recall an incident up at Inverness when he went crazy on the touchline kicking water bottles all over the place and more recently the idiotic carry on with Jim Duffy where he again didn't cover himself in glory. One part of the above statement which I don't agree with and believe it is unnecessary is the hope that the Police speak to him. As the largest supporters group and having a large shareholding they (Club 1872) are to be expected to make their feelings known on certain aspects and incidents and obviously their leanings will be towards the club rather than attempt to appease anyone outwith and if other teams fans find it 'amusing' I wouldn't imagine they will bother one jot for one simple reason.....it would not matter whatever was said in a released statement very few outside Rangers supporters would agree with it.

I probably have read previous statements from Club 1872 and Rangers FC in the past but I honestly don't recall what they said and I would have to assess on a one by one basis to give you any reaction on them. As I previously said, I don't give a lot of thought to them...I prefer to concentrate on what happens on the pitch.

PS...I had £50 on over 2.5 goals so not disappointed in the goals tally.....:bg:

Thanks for your opinion.

I have just found the last few statements incredibly childish in their tone and content. Every single one seems to praise the 'great restraint' of the Rangers fans in the face of unacceptable 'provocation' and 'inflammatory' behaviour from whoever is was that dared to beat them/cup their ears. I won't go on a massive long post, but the crux is that what would be normal behaviour to anyone else, like not causing a load of trouble in response to ear cupping in this instance, needs a club statement. Everyone else goes to a football game, has songs sung at them, has teenagers acting hard from behind a police line etc and gets on with it, but Rangers need to get a six year old to draft a club statement calling for police action or government action in the case of the cup final.

Agreed. Can only hope he and family get through this as easy as possible. Same age as me too. Jeezo.

Lennon calling the Rangers statement 'laughable' and 'written by a 15 year old' :D

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40961125
It wasn't a 'Rangers' statement Salty....it was done by supporters group club 1872. AS much as I believe Lennon is a dick at times I agree when he says that if supporters wish to give it out then they should be able to accept what they get back in return.

No radio commentary & not live on tv so I really haven't a clue as to how our game with Hearts went apart from the fact that Hearts tactics were to play defensively and frustrate Rangers which they certainly did. A draw at home (0-0), not good enough imo, means we are 5 points of Celtic, Aberdeen and St Johnstone after only 3 games. Majority of Rangers fans, knowing winning the league this season was a no go, were optimistic about going for 2nd place but that may be beyond the team's grasp. Long long way to go but it has been a poor start all in all.

They have won more games against English clubs this season than Scottish ones or minnows from Luxemburg!

Apparently they played very well against us (in a behind closed door friendly) but then we did only win 1 game all Pre-season scoring about 2 goals.

Hard fought win for Rangers up at Ross County (1-3). Two nil up then lose one not long after the break & once again the defence was shocking with the County player getting all the room in the world between two defenders but we got a late 3rd to ease the nerves. Rangers 2nd was down to a howler of a gaffe from County goalie Fox who won the ball fromMorelos who chased a back pass but Fox dithered allowing Moreles to come from behind him & nick the ball then roll it into the net.

Dundee & Hibs drew 1-1, a fair result but on Saturday Celtic surprisingly dropped 2 points at home against St Johnstone (1-1), again, according to reports, a fair result.

Hope it was just a drunken prank and not a suicide attempt. Have seen people attempt that on cold nights and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

So Dundee pick up their first point against a good Hibs side. Hope that gets the season underway for them now.

Was a strange story. Not sure the truth will ever come out.

I’m going to watch Hearts vs Aberdeen at Murrayfield on Saturday – not too sure what to expect in terms of atmosphere, but it’s more interesting than a standard game at least. I was in the away end at Tynecastle in April and couldn’t see one of the goals, so can’t be any worse than that. Usual away allocation at Hearts is 1800, and I think Aberdeen will have approx. 6000 there this time, so making the most of getting extra tickets. About a 90 second walk from my front door, so even closer to me than Tynecastle is.

Last round of fixtures was pretty good – Celtic dropped points, so Aberdeen went top with a 4-3 win at Partick. You can’t knock the entertainment factor so far.

Hibs drew 1-1 at Dundee on the tele on Sunday. I thought they were the better side but Bain had an excellent game in goal. The Dundee penalty was a dive but the tackle was still stupid from Whittaker.

Edinburgh City have started this season the same way as last season with a run of straight losses. They have a better side on paper than last season but badly need a win now to stop the rot.

a 4-1 win at Ibrox for Rangers over Dundee. First half was apparently loads of possession for Rangers but not doing a lot with it (what's new) until a few minutes before the break when Morelos netted. The team came on to a better game 2nd half and managed to net another 3 times (Morelos with a 2nd) before losing one at the death. This Colombian lad seems to know where the net is and hopefully can maintain his scoring form but we really need another who can do similar as Kenny Miller aint getting any younger and again continues to wander all over the pitch.

Still I've got to be honest and am in no way confident of the Gers beating Celtic in just under a couple of weeks I believe it is.

Do you agree with your managers assessment that Rangers have a better squad than Celtic Leo?

Dundee looking doomed already this season.

Absolutely not mate.....I would imagine (only my opinion mind) that he simply said that to curry favour with the support. I'm a bluenose Salty, I want Rangers to be better than Celtic (& every other team up here) but I am a realist and know that not to be correct. The league table does not lie and I have always maintained that the best team overall is the league winners.

Yeah I thought it was a baffling thing to say and does himself nor the squad any favours whatsoever.

Well that was a bit of a strange weekend for the most part. Tbh I wasn't unduly surprised at Rangers only coming away from Firhill with a point. We were 0-1 in front starting the 2nd half but lost a goal to a freekick then Thistle went 2-1 ahead with a goal that our defence should be utterly ashamed to lose. Thistle lost Chris Erskine with a straight red for a shocker of a challenge on Morelos who was very lucky not to be seriously injured. Dorrans got us back into the game with a great equaliser from outside the 18 yard box.

Elsewhere Celtic got back to business with a 4-0 win against Ross County but the BIG surprise was Aberdeen dropping 2 points having only drawn 1-1 with Kilmarnock at Pittodrie. Hibs were held 2-2 at home by Motherwell which surprised me. Big win of the day was for Salty's first team (or is it second) Dundee who won a cracker at Dens Park beating St Johnstone 3-2.

Got to say though....the big match of the weekend was at East End Park where Dunfermline were taking on St Mirren. I felt this would have been a great match for tv and it turned out to be a cracker with Dunfermline winning 3-0. Great result for me as I had £70 on over 2.5 goals.

Old Firm game at Ibrox next Saturday and a similar bet looks on the cards. Can't say I have any confidence about a Gers victory whatsoever.

Only piled on the pressure and made to look silly when questioned further by the press.

not a lot to say from my point of view re the Old Firm game at the weekend....outclassed and gubbed 0-2. I watched the Motherwell v Aberdeen game yesterday and was hoping for a cracker considering the game between the same teams at the same venue on Thursday. Unfortunately this was the complete opposite....dire would hardly cover it.
