Just had my Gampass subscription renewed and just logged in to see the new app for the first time and must admit to being pretty underwhelmed. Seems to be far less in the way of content than before. Hope that gets sorted soon, at least get the archived games uploaded would be a start.

Bad news for any other Cowboys fans out there, looks like Ezekiel Elliott is going to get suspended (rightly so if the allegations are true) by the NFL. 6 games is the rumour at the moment.

Another case of Goodell suspending a player on the basis of allegations. Deflategate eventually proved he has the power to do so, so...

Pretty brutal for the Cowboys in a tough division. Will also be an evaluation of how much of what Zeke did last season was down to his situation, as well as how much Dak was helped by having the threat of Zeke.

Wouldn't be surprised if this drags on in the way Deflategate did. Feel for Zeke based on the limited amount I know as doesn't appear to be much if any evidence of it and that was following a police investigation but obviously the NFL work to a totally different agenda.

In any case while it will cause a headache for fantasy owners in drafts I think Dallas should be ok. Still got that O-Line and I would expect McFadden and Morris can get enough on the ground to pick up the slack.

The Cowboys will survive without Zeke for 6 weeks, Morris is a very good running back and the O-Line is still the most important factor of their offence. Their first 6 games are manageable, I'd expect them to be sitting at 3-3 at the worst. A fresh Elliot for the last 10 weeks of the season could be akin to Le'Veon Bell last season, completely unstoppable. But yes, perhaps the police should be doing the job of punishing Elliot as opposed to the NFL. It's not quite the same as Deflategate, which was an unmitigated embarrassment for the NFL over a triviality, but I see the loose parallels.

Hard Knocks is back and already better than last year. I'm beginning to get excited.

I'm really not bothered by the punishment at all.

We all know how NFL doesn't do consistency, and nor do (or should) they need to cede to law enforcement judgements either. They feel there were enough incidents to warrant a 6 game ban, and after Rice don't want to be seen as lenient, so that's about it really. Everyone - fans, Elliott, Jones - knows the score.

Sure they've cocked up many an investigation, but for all the whinging about it's harsh, on what basis is that on? That Elliott wasn't charged? Because that means he's definitely innocent? NFL showed that Adrian Peterson didn't need to have guilty conviction for everyone to know he beat up his kid, and punished him in the pocket accordingly.

Precious little sympathy at this end. Goodell's remit is to make more money for the owners and Goodell is allowed as part of that to punish players who make NFL headlines for the wrong reasons, possibly to help the owners keep sponsors and up their bank balances, and Goodell's excelled in that role. If Jones was really annoyed, he'd assist in getting rid of Goodell, but he prefers success in his bank balance. For all the faux bluster in the wind, Jones' loyalties ultimately still stick with his dude Rog.

Deflategate? Only if the Cowboys want it to be.

My subscription was renewed by PayPal at the start of August, but when I''m logged into both NFL.com and nflgamepass.com with the charged account, it still asks me to sign up for a free trial. I contacted the support team, but no response almost a week later...

Only real issue I've had is with the fact they billed me in a foreign currency which I understand they've done with a lot of other people also and caused some variation in the amount charged. Only a few pounds difference but it's the principle more than anything.

Not sure on the ins and outs of it but I believe they've moved Gamepass in Europe to another distribution company and reading the NFLUK forum on it seems it's caused multiple issues for many people such as the one you've encountered.

Thanks for the pointer, that thread makes for depressing reading. Looks like I'm going to have to jump through a lot of hoops to either get this working or get my money back. The company they have switched to appears to be cutting many corners with how it processes payments (customers have been charged in Euros, Francs and Roubles, some have theorised they are trying to game the exchange rates through VPNs) and its customer service (sending the same automated reply to everyone with a concern and not getting back after that point). It also looks like I was overcharged, £164.99 came out of my account when the service is listed at £139.99 on the sign up page.

For anyone thinking about joining the league, please first evaluate whether or not you will commit to this for the entire season before you enter. There were too many dud games last season against teams that hadn't been changed for months and it ruined the experience. I'm in, the 2nd suits me, Friday the 1st does not, at a wedding that day. Any day but the 1st or the 4th is good for me.

Update on the NFL Game Pass issues: for some reason I have been given an International subscription as opposed to a European one despite paying for the service with a UK debit card whilst in the UK. They are making me jump through numerous hoops, I keep getting re-directed to different support teams. Absolutely dreadful customer service after their own cock-up in splitting Game Pass between two distribution companies. Worth reiterating for anyone thinking about signing up to Game Pass before the start of the season, don't do it until these issues have been sorted out.
