I think Floyd could have ended it whenever he wanted after round 3. Don't think it lasting longer than that was an indictment of his condition, I think he was toying with McGregor until he gassed and then was looking for the highlight reel KO. The referee was merciful letting it end with a TKO. Wish Floyd had ended it a round sooner and won me some £££.

Hopefully this is the end of the McGregor boxing experiment and he can go back to propping up a real combat sport.

Good result for everybody in the end, Connor won a few round and Floyd made it look a piece of cake.

Fair play for going into a boxing ring against one of the all-time greatest, but it proves that not just anyone can take up boxing on a serious level, it ain't that easy. Boxing won tonight, as can you imagine if Connor won? No going back for boxing on a serious level.

McGregor did much better than I expected, but I thought this fight would end up having muscle memory and natural reflexes coming into play. McGregor every clinch couldn't help trying to jostle for head position and had to force himself not to hammer fist Mayweather, it was pretty funny to watch. Everything Mayweather did was reactionary because he's been boxing within these rules for 25 years+. McGregor had to physically stop himself from doing what he's been training to do for years. At the end of the day McGregor just gassed because I think he drained pretty heavy to make weight then was noticably bigger on the day, that with the fact he's never fought for that long, it was inevitable. I think like Renegade aludes to though, the gap was a lot bigger than it appeared and Mayweather took a couple of rounds to adjust then wanted to put a show on, but was never once in any kind of trouble. Conor did alright, but it was a mismatch.

It was always a lion vs a shark and just a silly spectacle for them cash dollars. Let's get back to the real business in Septmber, 'mon Golovkin!

Yeah he did a lot better than expected but you never felt Mayweather was in trouble.

Nathan Cleverly needs to retire now though, blasted out by Badou Jack last night.

Just announced that the World Boxing Super Series will be shown live on ITV which is great news. Both the super-middle and cruiserweight tournaments, mainly on ITV4 to begin with I think.

Though I'd put my mortgage on the likely meeting of Groves v Eubank in the semi-final ending up on ITV Box Office.

The cruiserweight series looks insanely good but will do naff all numbers wise because no one's ever heard of them.

It is, it's better than the super-middle tournament in terms of top names, funny how Bellew didn't want any part of it isn't it. The Groves v Eubank one could be built up into a big fight if promoted right as they are both known names to the casual fan. Also Callum Smith v the winner could be a very big fight domestically if it happens. It won't beat the Super 6 in terms of quality though as all of them were world class fighters.

Parker v Hughie Fury is on........Youtube PPV

This is a British fighter trying to win the heavyweight championship FFS. Amateur hour again from the most inept promoter in the business, this'll bomb and ruin Hennessy.

YouTube is a bigger platform than anything else on offer. They have to build Hughies name. Hughie will win and fight Haye to announce himself as a household name, then he'll beat AJ. Hennessy will be bathing in champagne.

Haye was making a "massive announcement" today. Turns out it was Joe Joyce's boxing debut :bg:

Chocolatito got brutally KO'd last night, the Thai lad clearly had his number in the first fight too.

Was sad to see Chocolatito get stopped like that, I think it was just one weight too many for him. Now he either retires or goes back down in weight where there's no one left for him to fight.

He does put on more than most but certainly not than 20lb I reckon, Khan would have been no more than 160lb on fight night and Canelo usually enters the ring at 170-175lb.

In terms of the big fight I'm edging towards Golovkin. Canelo has a solid chin, but I don't think it's indestructible and he's never been in with anyone close to possessing this sort of KO power. Imagine it going into the 11th or 12th and GGG being behind on the cards, he'll be marching forward throwing everything he's got at Canelo to try and get him out of there. Fucking can't wait for it.

Good learning fight for Callum Smith there, wins through to the SF. I think Groves takes him apart though if they meet in the final, he was eating far too many jabs there.

GGG has Homer Simpson's chin, what a fighter. Lived up to the hype, GGG a clear winner for me, but I reckon these two should do it again. Golovkin was a man possessed.

Someone gave it 118-110 to Canelo? Boxing still corrupt as fuck I see. It had a chance to let go of the relative farce that was last month, yet they've somehow outdone that with blatantly mental judges.

Absolute bullshit, a robbery was always likely. GGG won it handedly for me.

I don't know about won it handily, I'd say he won but it was close. Maybe 7-5 Golovkin, something like that. Golovkin was the busier, as he was always going to be, but the better more eye catching shots came from Canelo. The 118-110 to Alvarez was obviously bullshit. I'd definitely like to see it again.

I have no complaints about the draw. I had Canelo winning 3 of the first 4 rounds and the last 3 rounds, with GGG bossing the middle stages.

However, Byrd needs sectioning after that 118-110 card. Or at sacked at a minimum. That's a joke.

Thought it was a great fight - thought Canelo's defence was very good in the face of GGG's relentless pressure, but I think a lot of GGG's work was also nullified and not connecting flush, which is why I don't always compare to the likes of Compubox. Canelo was landing the more eye-catching shots all night. His chin also impressed me as GGG still caught him a few times.

GGGs face was more of a mess at the end, but I think its his granite chin that helps him more than his power as he just walks through shots. It's incredible.

Very happy to see a rematch, which I feel Canelo will win as it'll be another year down the line and he'll be aware of how he slipped in the mid-stages of the fight.

Also convinced that if that card of Byrd's was 115-113 rather than the ridiculous 118-110 it was, there'd be less outrage at it being a draw.

Won't happen.

In other news, Wilder v Ortiz has been made for November 4. It'll be interesting to see how Wilder gets on in that.

I reckon Ortiz is about 50 in reality and he's been inactive. Normally I would say Wilder is getting his chin smashed to bits because he's so awful technically but now I just don't know as Ortiz looked slow as molasses against Dave Allen.

Wilder is a KO waiting to happen though in all honesty. Ortiz lands one of his bombs and chicken legs will be out for the count.

I'd be shocked if Ortiz doesn't KO Wilder.

Good luck to Rio, would imagine he'll fight on Haye's new shows.

Got Fury winning this.

Parker is leading with his head and looking for single shots, Fury is doing nothing special but doing just enough to win rounds. A lot of them are pick ems.
