I said they'd walk the league before a ball had been kicked (well thought York might give them a challenge) - nothing at any point changed my mind, and certainly this week hasn't! On 'their day' 90% of teams in this league can beat or at least run very close any other team. But the smaller part-time clubs haven't a chance over the course of a 42 match season against teams with big squads, full time players, and that can pay 5 or 6 figure sums for players. Even the other full time clubs are in the shadows of the wealth being pumped into Salford. I say good luck to Salford - football's never meant to be a level playing field. But I wish that Gary Neville wouldn't tweet about Salford's budget not being so big, and that the next version of the BBC doc 'Class of 92' that will no doubt be coming, would reflect the massively disproportionate financial advantage they have over other teams, rather than trying to angle everything from the paradigm that they're a 'plucky little non-league club'.

By Tuesday 1/4 of the league season has been played - so at least the Sat-Tues non-stop schedule is soon to end which makes it easier for the part-timers.

Two games with Jimmy Anderson out injured for brackley = 0 goals scored. He's not been at his best yet this season, but looks like we need him back asap.

Well now he's finished with the test series he should be free. But I'll settle for Jimmy Armson being fit - not sure if he will be though. Big test on Tuesday - another mid-week game away at an improving if still erratic Alfreton? Sounds like when you're good you're really good - so perhaps the result will depend on which version of Alfreton turns up? We're a tight well oiled team, and won't concede many, but we lack a bit of a goal threat and quite a lot of ruthlessness in front of goal despite our great start.

I'd like to see what our manager is gonna do with our present situation. We could have lost this match towards the end, or should I say we should have lost? I was happy to take the point in the end.
The performance today was simply just piss poor. I hope Vaulks plays on Wednesday he looks very comfortable on the ball and has great potential when he came on.

phew........that was a vital win for us yesterday.

Did it the hard way by playing a very dangerous game second half having grabbed our lead we decided to just sit on it most of the second half and by end of game had 7 defenders on the pitch, including 5 centre backs (although one of them was just a lack of options for injured midfielder) so fcum had the majority of the play second half.

But they look a very very basic side, they work hard, they don't look a terrible side, but just look lacking in some real quality and therefore i dont remember them drastically creating anything all game that was dangerous so we held out easily and defended well.

We played better, we have ditched the long ball stuff that really didn't suit us and pass the ball around, but we have a defensive approach so it can be hard to create at times with only 2-4 players in their half. We also struggle once Naill Cummins gets knackered in the last 25 minutes, could do with finding a bench player to cover him second half.

Made it an excellent week for us, we i think had never beaten fcum in last 13 games so a tough week vs 2 promotion favourites and our boagy side grabbed 5 points. Now need to try and capitalise against Leamington monday and have a decent points total.

No, a rumour started on Facebook. Nothing in it I don't think. I doubt we'd have signed a new player on Friday if there was any truth in it.

We have been a little bit in consistent particularly away from home but have really started to gel after the Bank Holiday weekend.
At home we have won 4 and lost 1 scoring 11 and conceding just 2. In fact only yourselves have a better home record. Really looking forward to a proper test at home as while we have started well but the fixtures certainly have been kind so I am not getting too carried away..yet.

I see there's a lengthy thread about us on the Stockport forum, although we're only mentioned directly once or twice on it. Just to clear up a couple of misconceptions:
1) We are wholly part-time and have been since we reformed in 2008
2) Aside from start-up costs in 2008, our B.O.D do not "invest" in the club. The club is run on gate revenues (which do not cover the playing budget), commercial income, and "The Jamie Vardy Money".

Hey guys, remember when you tried to take him off our hands for £50k? You said, "remind him he plays for Halifax, that should speed things along". Funny how things turn out. :fl:

Here's another tip: forget about part time vs full time, successful clubs are built from the top down- it ALL starts in the boardroom. Until you've got the right people in there, you're not going anywhere. God speed you back to where you belong. :cool1:

Curzon 1-0 Leamington at half time.

Deserved lead. Leamington did well for first 10 minutes then totally ran out of ideas. We don't have Cummins in tonight and it makes it tough going forward, but we've had maybe 80% possession with an all passing keep ball game and been comfortable.

Grabbed a goal with two forwards linking well and controlled since......leamington need something to get them going

Finished 1-1 in the end, a fair result.

Was too comfortable in the end. Hit 60 odd mins with us tight, but never really going for that second goal and in the end they made subs, went for it and got the breakthrough. Last 15 mins was good and open as both went for it and either could have won.

Frustrating, in respect of us playing a defence game.....yet leaving a man unmarked for their goal, but we tire every game on 65 mins and really need a plan b to switch to about then.

Played well though, just cannot grab a killer second

They sometimes just don't get the recognition that they deserve in getting the pitch safe to play on.
Good groundsman are so valuable.

That was one of the biggest Burr gaffes letting George Thomson go.
