Alfreton 1 -1 Brackley

Really good game tonight between two decent sides.

Close game tonight with few clear cut chances with both sides but it wasnt for the want of trying.

Lee Ndlovu opened the scoring after 15 minutes running on to a long ball to slot past Elliott to put Brackley in front.

We responded quickly and were level after Westcarr scored his 6th of the season as he deflected Daniels1 freekick past the keeper.

We then had the better of the rest of the first half without really creating.

Brackley then had the better of the second half but we stood strong. Couple of decent saves by Chris Elliott.

A draw a fair result. Both sides will be up there come the end of the season. We are improving game on game and beginning to really impress particularly at home.

Bring on the FA Cup now!

Eustace needs to go.

Someone needs to be responsible for the shit heap which we've had to contend with this season. Could go on for days.

I'd like to see a new manager in charge to see whether his hands are tied.

Shambolic

Gannon cannot have much long left way Stockport are going.

5 defeats in first 11 games doesn't look great reading, especially when they had only 7 defeats all last season. In all honesty I can't see Jim Gannon quitting in September? I don't reckon he will be sacked either. They have 2 options either back him or sack him.

"How shit must you be? we're winning at home!" sang the home faithful.
Cracking game and a thoroughly deserved victory for us.
We're playing some nice stuff in patches, going forward we have a goal threat with pace to burn.
We have come up against the 5 top sides at home, hence the shite home form. Last night, against average National North opposition we got what we deserved.

Didn't go last night, sounds like we were robbed of the first goal, Jordan sent off for dissent, never seen a straight red for dissent, probably swore at him. Roll on fa cup, can't win em all

Kidderminster, thanks for Keith Lowe. What a player.

I was going to give Eustace the benefit of the doubt over this decision. But it's totally ridiculous. We are shockingly defensively a we let a defender who was in team of the season and was contracted go on a free for no reason. The club's becoming a joke.

Shocking result last night for York too. Goalscorer Josh Law must be on more money than the whole Gainsbrough side. Pressure must be growing on Mills.

I see Southport signed Nathan Lowe from FC United for a fee on a 2 year deal yesterday. Seems the FCUM project is falling apart on and off the field.

I knew NFU were struggling again this season to score goals, but 3 in 11?!

NFU for me are all but gone already even this early................cannot score at all and conceed lots, they would need a real overhaul to turn around and do not really have cash now to do it.

after that it is a wee bit worryingly tight for me, am quite happy with the Curzon position after a 1/4 of the season, could have been better had we held on Monday, but considering we had more damage done to our first 11 than most during the summer and have a tiny budget to replace it with 13 points is not too bad a total.

I am wondering if Southport now are starting to become the team we expected them to be in the summer (in easier words rubbish) after that very surprising start when they really did excellent....some really poor results for them recently.

I think as it stands NFU and FCUM will drop, its who else goes with them i am unsure about. We could really do with something more to our midfield.

Cant see Gainsbrough staying up this time. They were abysmal against us. Think Leamington`s hard work and effort will see them survive..just

FC United lose their 4th game running and crowds significantly falling. Will be interesting to see what happens with them.

I think FCUM will be fine. Their gates are about 400-500 down on last season but i'd say 2 factors on that side of things. A: as usual when crap people do not go and B: they have played none of their big gate home games yet.

FCUM's problem is they are stuck really at a point where they really do not want to go higher......FCUM is about fans who don't want the corporate stuff, want games at 3pm on saturday, drinks on terraces etc, etc.........you cannot go any higher than this level otherwise you lose it all and have to become exactly what they moan about.

That i think is their big dilemma........to attract their extra fans they have to do things their hardcore base don't want or care for. Salford certainly have not stolen their fans having seen both clubs visit Curzon the last 2 weeks the difference is frightening. Salford's lot turn up.....no colours, no scarfs, no shirts, stand there all quiet watching the game, twine when not winning and never made one song in the entire game......FCUM meanwhile all turn up with some form of colours, sang pretty much from start to finish, did not care when losing and still sang and clapped team off at the end.

They have a poor team this season, think it is because they are saving cash for something, you go on their website and they have 150,000 saved up from some 300,000 target they are trying to get to.

FC united will never improve under their current manager. Their loyalty to him has held them back for years

FCUM was always a bit like a weird local theatre group or something. The whole 'proper football' stuff was so contrived and desperate that it ended up feeling weirdly sterile and, ironically enough, corporate. I'm not surprised its looking like some people are getting bored of it.

I wasn't sure whether the game would get the thumbs up after all the torrential downpours overnight.
But hey, I'm glad the game came through with flying colours.

I didn't know what to expect with this one after the last few performances of pure unforgettable shite.
We didn't play too badly in the 1st half, apart from our captain getting his marching orders approaching half-time, and a clearance off the line from our defender Marrs.

Out of all the matches I've seen this season I've gotta say FCUM is the worst team that Darlo have played, they we're pretty poor in all areas you can see why they are struggling at the foot of the table.

The 2nd half we just changed gears and absolutely obliterated the woeful reds with 3 well taken quality goals, and a missed penalty with one or two other chances that should have been put away.

Dare I say it are we back? Or did we just play the worst team in this division?
Wheatley for me was our man of the match he was very impressive in midfield, superbly ran the show in the 2nd half, and was a joy to watch.

Can't wait for Saturday now and could do with a decent cup run, to bring in much needed wads of cash.

Results like this are frustrating for sure, and some fans are definitely running out of patience, but can you really sack a manager when the team is in the playoff places and just 8pts off top?

Yep - in a division where most of the opponents are part-time players, you are full time, have the biggest fan base, a (I presume) strong budget, had pretty good form the end of last season despite the relegation etc. York are way too big for this division, but Stockport show how you can get 'stuck', and the standard of the division has risen enormously in my opinion in the 5 years Brackley have been in it. Five years ago we came 3rd and got to the playoff final (beaten by Halifax), and there is only 1 player from that team I'd swap for are starting 11 now. Still expect York to qualify well for the playoffs - perhaps in 3rd, but I don't think you've a chance of winning the league now I'm afraid.

Think Darlo on Tour was a bit harsh on FCUM. They matched us up until our sending off, and looked decent enough going forward. At least they came to win the game, unlike Leamington. Would much rather they got out of it.

I did emphasize out of all the matches I've seen this season. I thought they were the worst team we've played. I don't see how they matched us in regards to the game, other than a clearance of the line from Marrs our keeper had very little to do.

As for Leamington they were just as bad, but they should have beaten us towards the end of the game.
If they'd have had their shooting boots on, they missed some golden opportunities to steal the game.

We've signed James Pearson, who definitely doesn't have a controversial past :shut:

Classy.... What a lovely man he seems. One for the youngsters to aspire to?

Brackley's last manager signed a striker who'd been imprisoned for animal cruelty. Delighted to say the player soon left. How are these signings consistent with the 'heart of the community' ethos clubs are so keen to bang on they promote?

Hoping he's grown up from this incident a few years ago and matured cos we desperately need a CB so I'm really hoping that's true.
