I think they'd take Silva after Simeone snubbed them as he didn't know who they were. :hypo:

Big Sam is better than this guy.

Got the impression Everton fans would rather go with Unsworth than have Big Sam or Dyche in charge!

Silva seems to have a 50/50 split but its ironic Everton want a manager of a manager who let slip a 2 goal lead against them!

You'd have thought Everton would stop picking flavour of the month after failing with Martinez & Koeman.

Well nothing has happened since so unless Silva spits his dummy out looks like we are keeping him for now (cue jokes about sacking him at the end of the season!)

They offered 10 million for him too!

Must be pretty desperate...I mean Silva has started fairly well for us but Everton are only 4 points behind us.

Doesn't look good for Silva to jump ship again though, he'll stay while the end of the season.

I think that is what he is saying really - I'd like to talk with Everton but not going to push it right now.

Saying "its up to the clubs"

TBH I've heard managers declare they are happy to stay etc before going so quite frankly its nice he is honest.

Reckon Silva at Everton would be a good fix. No offence, but reckon he's a bit too good to be at Watford.

Time Everton moved on - Silva doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Seriously need to stop pissing about and appoint a manager. Crucial games on Sunday and Wed and we're stuck with Unsworth in charge. It would help if he would stop making wholesale changes every game.

I reckon Everton should wait until the end of the season to appoint a new manager, to give themselves the best opportunity to get the right guy. :hypo:

Who ever Everton get now won't be the man they wanted so will feel unloved and under pressure to get results.

Now some just reckon Silva will quit/be sacked in the summer and will join Everton then.

I know Koeman was struggling, but I presumed they had someone lined up when they binned him. It made no sense as Unsworth was never going to be anything other than shit, or to put it another way, no better than Koeman. They may as well have been looking behind the scenes for the right appointment.

They'd have more points if they'd stayed with Koeman.

They'll be needing to appoint Pulis at this rate.

Anyone in a job would be mad to join them and even Big Sam/Pulis would need time to sort that defence out.

Not even sure they'd get much money to spend in January as most of it was wasted in the summer.

They spent a lot but, after the sale of Lukaku, the net was far less than what the new owner continually said they had to spend.

What the hell are they doing? Over a month would be too slow in the off season let alone during it. Quite ironic really considering how the fans hounded Kenwright for years.

For some strange reason I'm pining for Koeman. As they say 'be careful what you wish for.' :ffs:

Looks like Big Sam is about to be appointed. There is no way in hell any Everton fan in existance would have replaced Koeman for Allardyce at the start of the season.

It also represents a bit of a step back in terms of Everton's ambition for me. He's not a long term option.

Long term option doesn't exist anymore. Provided he gets the gig I can see Everton finishing above you next season - bookmark it.

Nah, give Allardyce a decent budget and he won't know what to do with it. A good defensive manager, but it's for good reason his best traits and therefore previous roles have invariably involved keeping mediocre teams in the top flight rather than having them chasing trophies or high league positions. He'll do better with Everton I expect, but not enough to trouble the teams challenging for the CL spots.

Edit - And when I talk about long term, I don't necessarily mean him as manager, I'm also talking about the club and its plans. They have now got a far bigger budget, and the new stadium looks to be finally happening. Unlike with Koeman, despite how it turned out, this appointment of Allardyce flies in the face of both in terms of the club's intended direction and where they want to be. In short, it shows a distinct lack of ambition and the whole process from the sacking of Koeman to the appointment of Allardyce stinks of bad planning and panic.
