Lingard scored a sweet outside of the right goal. Even Scott Carson couldn't save it!

2-0 now. Lukaku. What a beast of a player that guy is.

Great result. We didn't play that well, our link up play was piss poor on occasion. Good to see Everton make the effort, more than the league game.

Great to see Van Dijk score the winner.

Karius again shit. Funny to see Van Dijk constantly having to tell him to come out and kick the ball.

Lackluster performance from us but great to see Van Dijk with the winner. Our best chance of a trophy this so I hope we take it seriously.

Never a pen imo lucky Liverpool there. They look average without Coutinho and Salah.

So would your team with missing players and those who come in have never really played all together or in a different system. A bit of a rest now for 9 days, then City next and they'll be back firing once more. Oh and they got another result without playing well, that's not an average side, that's a good one fella.

Oh, and Holgate should have seen an immediate red for the deliberate push in to the advertisement boards. It could have caused serious injury.

Really glad you're here to provide this sort of insight

It's clearly insight the referee needed.

Oh, and fuck you.

No Jamie Vardy for Leicester against Fleetwood so not quite the story the BBC might have wanted.

Not the strongest Foxes side so maybe there will be another one created ?

Talk online of Firmino allegedly racially abusing Holgate after being pushed into the advertisement boarding. If he did do that (and it's currently a big if), it would have taken stupidity of monumental proportions given he was actually closer to the referee than Holgate at the time. I really can't see it, even in the heat of anger. Apparently, he firstly called the Everton player a son of a bitch in Portuguese, but it's claimed something was said afterwards which set Holgate off.

Whatever it was is bound to come out.

I’m a bit of a sentimental guy these days, I’d have liked him to have been involved.

Edit: I fully get the fact Leicester have the Premiership to worry about and have just come out of a busy Christmas period. And I often hear the argument that there’s no room for sentiment in football, it’s all about winning. I understand all that, it’s just “nice” when there are “nice” stories in football, and Vardy’s rise from non league to Premier League champion is a good one.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Was he not even in the squad? A bit harsh really. Not to mention he might have saved them a replay!

Not the best first half from City, but clinical in the second 45. Sergio’s second was a great goal.

Andy Madley should just give up refereeing. Hope the FA suspends him but they're pretty gutless.

Few decent wins and draws around so well done to the likes of Notts Country/Coventry/POSH/Wigan/Mansfield and Carlisle.

That had all the hallmarks of our embarrassing exit at this stage last season. First half was a shambles. Fortunately Wigan were less clinical and ruthless, and we were able to claw our way back into the game. Hit the woodwork 3 bloody times! Either side could have won it at the end, and now there's another game I'd guess neither really wants.

Thought Norwich did well against Chelsea but I can’t see a draw was worth playing for - would like to have seen them go 2 up with 15 mins to go. Even if they’d lost it won’t be any different to losing at Stamford Bridge. But they might have nicked it.

Pagnell, don't give people abuse without tagging them into the post. You're so much better than that.

The referee doesn't need your hot take on anything. This was a silly thing for you to say.
