WE are worse than England in penalty shoot-outs, They did win ONE against Spain about 30 years ago.

After embarrasing ourselves in the Lancashire Junior Trophy, we'v only gone and done it again in the Liverpool Senior Cup.

Widnes 5-1 Southport.

K's away to Horley Town in the Surrey Senior Cup tonight. This time of year is too jolly for my liking so I've decided to make the trip over there to level things out with depression from being steamrolled by a county league team in the middle of nowhere while contracting pneumonia.

We are at home to local rivals and current holders Matlock in the Derbyshire Senior Cup tonight. Be genuinely shocked if we won to be honest. Hoping defeat tonight will be the final straw.

Sutton heroically defeated the mighty Redhill 2-1 last week in the Surrey Senior Cup

Statement from Chairman Des Flanders regarding a Tie in The London FA Senior Cup to be played on Wednesday 6th December 2017 at Imber Court.

“Following lengthy discussions with Clapton Football Club Officials and information received through Football Intelligence sources it has been decided that away fans will not be permitted entry to this game. Sadly for Clapton, they suffer from a group of ‘supporters’ who refer to themselves as Ultras and have established a pattern of unacceptable behaviour when visiting grounds for away matches in which Clapton are involved.”

That should be in the tinpot thread.

Alfreton Town 1-0 Matlock Town (Andre Johnson 62)

Terrible game settled by a scrappy goal from a goal mouth scramble.

A first home win since September and a first clean sheet since August. Papers over the cracks massively again.

Through to the next round. Drawn away at North West Counties Division One Side New Mills next. Highely likely to be called off as they get a horrendous fixture pile up ever year. So a bit of a pain in the neck.

Wahay we actually took a county cup game seriously for once & played a fairly strong team ending up with a 2-nil victory at Horley Town. Nice little ground there, they have one of those upstairs bars that overlook the pitch which is where I ended up watching the majority of the game from.

We beat Bournemouth Poppies 3-1 last night, after coming back from 0-1 down.
We put out a full first team 11 aswell, no youth players at all.
Our only chance of silverware this season, as we are away at Ebbsfleet in the FA Trophy, so not a hope there.

Selby Town 4-2 Halifax last night.
Plucky 'Fax came up just short in a game switched from the Shay to Selby (presumably as the non league minnows from Calderdale weren't up for staging such a high profile game).
About 700 Halifax there, all well spread out (did I say 700, I meant 70).

Would normally say it’s harsh. But with those tinpot wannabe ultras calling themselves SCAFFOLD BRIGADA and telling everyone who doesn’t actually care ‘oooh look at us we’re so left wing’ it’s funny. They also spat at an opposition player a while ago.

I didn’t think anything would make me cringe more than the Palace ‘ultras’ but Clapton have managed it.

A decentish Coventry team was beat 3-1 away to a team called Rushall Olympic in the Birmingham Senior Cup. Oh the shame.

i Think i'm happy for any clubs fans who want to improve the atmosphere at games. we all know its been going downhill faster than a grandmother covered in butter across England over the last twenty years.

Who you got in the next round Jared? We've got Leatherhead away. Or at home. I can't remember. It's at Fetcham Grove though...

Away at New Mills tonight in the Derbyshire Cup. 11.30 am pitch inspection. Expect it to be called off several times and for a venue switch. Wouldnt be totally against it being played with a home win if it forced action before the Darlington game though.

That was our next round. Waiting for the draw now. Providing we don't get Godalming in the final I've got a good feeling about the SSC this season

Oh right, Yeah, must be nice to be on top of your fixture schedule at a ground you own that isn't under 6 feet of water the second it starts raining

It's yours to lose now really, with Woking out. If we get through v Leathehead (already lost to them twice in the league this season so not holding up much hope) I can see us meeting on the hallowed Imber Court* turf in the final.

* Is the final at Imber Court this season?

It'll be at Imber Court, Kingfield or Surrey's premier ground, Gander Green Lane. Although Sutton v K's in an SSC final at Imber Court brings back happy memories

Yeah I thought you'd say that. We've lost every county cup final we've been involved in at Imber Court since then too - although they were both London Cup finals.
