Beat Solihull 3-1. First 30 minutes we cut them to ribbons with our passing. They came back into it after half time. 5 or 6 of their players wouldn’t look out of place in the octagon, absolute units. Thank god we only have to play them twice

Utter shit, how do we dominate a match, have that many clear cut chances and manage to only squeak a draw at fucking Braintree.

I know some people will say it's a rebuilding job, there's still people in the squad from last season's car crash but I can't wait around like this in this league forever hoping it'll come good. The club privately won't tolerate another mediocre season, the signings and budget suggest that. 100 years as a proud football league club and now I sat listening to a league game live on a fucking mobile phone, at the home of the most tinpot club we've ever played at and we can't hold out at the end. And we spunk a load of chances to make it, not even fucking 2-0, 8-0. I mean WTF has it come to? I thought I'd adapted to it down here but I don't think you ever can.

Why do we bother? What is the point. We are CURSED and there's no one can disagree with that.

Barrow is always a hard place to go.

Our first defeat down here was to barrow, if that helps any?

It's the toughest ground to go to in the WORLD, especially on a Tuesday night.

I remember Barrow bumming Fleetwood 4-0 the season they won the title. They ALWAYS turn it on against the top sides and their feral supporters try to create a rivalry with all Proper Clubs.

Everyone has to go through the Holker St initiation ceremony night where they kill you on set pieces, it all kicks off and you end up with red cards and people scrapping in the stands. It's all detailed in the induction pack Brotherhood members receive.

Welcome to the national league.

It was going to happen at some point and I’d have taken 9 points from 12 at this stage. Massive game away at Salford now on Saturday.

Only bonus from tonight’s game is JBW is now out of contention for 3 games and we can get some consistency at LB with Laurence Maguire.

Judging by the majority of their bafflingly cocksure posts, I don’t think any of them have bothered opening it yet. They’ll all be scrambling for it when Eastleigh dick them 4-0 and they fall 6 points behind Sutton in the race for 7th.

We won at Barrow last season. That never happened to us. Just role reversal for us, fans bickering in the home stands, red cards and set plays masterfully orchestrated by tinpot sides, full of 12 foot giants. We just conspired to lose half our home games last season and of those 11, only 1 proper club did us and that was you lot.

Shameful. We even lost at home to Guiseley.

Not sure Chesterfield would agree but that was a thriller! Our best footballing display in years.
Gave away a free header and can't remember the Chesterfield opener but it was a tap in - two lapses aside, we looked in control so to be 1-2 down was hard to take.
Talbot was useless at the back for them against the two top strikers in the league (I think, seven goals between them now), and Evans should have had a second yellow moments before ours.

The goals were great passing moves again, and if Hindle can keep this up, he'll be in the League by January. A real find from Colwyn Bay.

A big crowd for us, helped by 307 away fans, and hopefully that was the kind of performance that will help bring back those lost to Cox's dreary football.

Evatt got a great reception from the Chesterfield fans, and I imagine he enjoyed that second half.

The comments on here regarding the difficulty of Barrow away and the struggles their sides have faced their over the years has made me feel a little bit better about the loss...

Still annoying that JBW lost his head like that as we were on top at the time and we're more than likely going to put the game to bed... but guess that's football for you...

3 wins out of 4 still a decent start, bring on Salford this Saturday

You know I was prepared for a shitty rebuild season before they went out and got Noble, Davies and James, after that it was clear, regardless of what Bates and the board say about rebuilding, they were/are Going For It.

Fucking garbage, every season.

Allen has to take some of the blame for me. Just because you've had a red card doesn't mean you just put everyone behind the ball, invite constant pressure and not even try to attack or keep possession. Especially with like 40 minutes left or whatever. It's just poor, negative bollocks and I'm pissed off. That's 3 points fired down the shitter and I just hope it doesn't affect the teams confidence

It's gunna take a lot for me to criticise Allen at all during this season. The man has single handedly dragged our club up from its arse and restored some pride amongst a disillusioned fan base..

But I hear what your saying. As a Barnet fan posted above, im sure a similar scenario will happen during the season and he'll do the same thing, and we'll end up on the right side of the result.

Got to stay positive, the games come thick and fast.

yeah, what even the fuck is up with that? We've played 4 games in like less than 2 weeks.

When it all gets on top at Barrow it's impossible to stop what is about to happen.

There's definitely black magic or some shit about that place. Ever not left that place fuming.

I think it's probably to avoid games getting postponed during winter time when some of the poorer pitches in the division become unplayable

Just hope Allen picks them back up by Saturday and gets them fired up, because if there's one game I want to win this year it's against those wankers...

Hard to say what Allen should've done - as soon as that red card came out, our full-backs legged it upfield and became out and out wingers. Possession for the next 30 mins must have been 80/20 in our favour, so not sure how he could have combatted that.

Was hoping to get a glimpse of the fabled Muggleton, but no such luck.

What's the deal with this lad? I was on a scouting mission for Macauley Bonne, but thought Ekpiteta was superb at the back. Is that a regular occurrence?

Picked him up from East Thurrock last season. Guy is an absolute beast, but still adjusting to the full-time game. He’s been immense since coming in to the side to replace the sadly terminally broken George Elokobi. Good fight between him and the talented Dan Happe for the spot alongside Josh Coulson.

You’ll probably see the ball land up at your place when he next skies the ball out of the stadium. Won’t be long.

He's done well when he's played. Came in from East Thurrock United mid way through last season, first as a pro I believe. Playing because of Elokobi's hamstring injury, but he can probably feel a little hard done by that he didn't start the season as first choice. A little bit raw but has the attributes to play further up if he becomes a little more refined. Imo.

Leave players up so you've got an outlet? Keep the ball when you get it, stay composed, use your keeper? Don't just punt it up where you've got no players so the ball just comes straight back into your shit? There's a few things tbf

Fair play, I'll admit to not having heard of him previously. Certainly someone of interest to the higher leagues - perfect physically for a centre back (maybe could do with a bit more beef on him) and not dreadful technically either.

Very impressed personally.
