Watch out chaps we might chuck black puddings at you on Saturday (full of fat and pigs blood ya know)

Cheers, I love a bit of black pudding especially if it's free.

Who doesn't like free food?

We don't need the likes of tinpot Bury as rivals when we have Shortwood (spit) in just the next valley.

Though thinking about it one of our directors grew up in Bury and supported you as a lad, though obviously he's seen sense now. Does a great job organising the local schools ambassadors.

Maybe your director will see sense then on Saturday when he re-visits the proper club he used to support.

He probably wants us to win deep down too.

The performance last night must have brought back memories of the King Kev classic round the corner at Meadow Lane which saw us lead by a goal to nil at half time live on Sky.

Onto Saturday, and mambo gets his wish of seeing us play Forest Green Rovers (is Forest Green actually a place?). Who knows what to expect? Hopefully Stuey will put on a great spread of sausage rolls and pork pies for his visiting counterpart. I bet King Kev knows how to put on a proper spread.

Good luck to those heading down. Myself … I'll have another week to wait, but the delights of Crawley are starting to call.

Ahh yes, Zubar was injured and then that Dale loving idiot Eastham undid all my hard work. I can't believe I was blamed for that defeat, it wasn't my fault.

A King Kev spread will always contain the following ingredients - Chicken legs, sandwiches, specifically Egg Mayo and Tuna Mayo, Chicken thighs, skips, doritos, cocktail party sticks, mini sausages and then the crowning glory, Chad's dad's mash potato salad.

Despite there being mass opposition to drinking at football I'd insist on a bottle of bubbly, a selection of real ale, a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine.

Then mints for the drink drivers.

Just realised, the FGR chairman will not approve of the King Kev brand of buffet spreads.

Just realised, the FGR chairman will not approve of the King Kev brand of buffet spreads.
Last season the Carlisle chairman and Dale Vince had a public debate about meat.
Carlisle chairman who owns a large meat company said he would not permit vegans meals to be available during home match against FGR.
He was over-ruled by his caterers and surprisingly they sold plenty to their own fans.

Dale Vince can have a signed copy of my book - 'Will there be a footballing rainbow: Kevin Blackwell dreaming of a better brand of football.' If he accepts my brand of buffet without complaining.

How come the FGR directors have to have vegan food on away days? They were all asking for meat last season when they came up here.

There is a general misunderstanding by football fans than FGR supporters don't eat meat or that away supporters at TNL are not permitted to bring meat pies into ground.
The only condition Dale insists upon is that all food sold within the ground must be vegan.
I am a meat eater but will tell you that for two hours every fortnight I'm happy to be a vegan because the food available at ground is excellent.

Thinking back to some of the signings made … Zubar, Doherty, Thompson, Poleon … had we had them players for the season we would have been play off contenders. Sadly because we pissed about with the hapless Shirtliff for so long by the time King Kev (Premier League) arrived the transfer window was shut meaning these fantastic signings could only be brought in on short term loans.

Oh yes, the blithering idiot Shirtliff, he was so uninspiring he used to send me to sleep. But don't ever tell that to Milesy, he maintains that Shirtliff had us bossing games and claims that things didn't improve under me and we'd have done better keeping Shirtliff. Absolutely baffling.....

Sad news about Lenny Johnrose. :-(
Very sad news indeed. The likes of Johnrose, Daws, and to a lesser extent Butler, Lucketti and Keilly seem to be largley overlooked by the club thesedays for some reason. Some of those mid to late 90s years, although a distant and clouded memory, have to go down as some of the best in this grand old clubs history (FA Cup wins and King Kev's appointment aside of course). It would be nice for the club to celebrate our success over these years a bit more, youtube highlights, ex players made special guests, interviews etc. As much as I dislike the man, I look forward to James Bentleys new book about this period.

Anyway, back to the present, and its Heathrow on Saturday, or is it Gatwick ... I'm never quite sure. Only been once, not the best behaviour on show, one thrown out on the way in, one trying to fight the stewards, one trying to steal a mobility scooter and one getting a ban for threatening Nicky Adams on twitter. The standout from that game has to be King Kevs miraculous tactical nouse which saw us recover from a poor first half against traiter Barker to come back to a magical 2-2. Sadly a mishit cross from Adams flew into the top corner of our net in the last minute undoing the masters great work. Football can be so unfair.

Speaking of unfair, it seems we were unluckly to not get a result at Lincoln. This will not sway my confidence in this team. Depite **** central being in uproar over our mid table position (after 4 games and 2 unlucky away defeats) I still fully expect us to be firing on all cylinders this weekend, my first appearance of the season. So watch out Heathrow, the Bury roadshow will be shortly rolling into town.

Ahh yes, that was one of my tactical masterclasses that second half. If Shirtliff had remained in charge it would have been a cricket score for Crawley. I said to the players at half time 'go out and make me proud,' they ran out screaming and how it paid off, we won the second half 2-1, as you mention it was only a fluke that led to their second forty five minute consolation.

I should add if Tom Hopper could finish we would have won the second half 6-1 rather than the much less flattering 2-1 scoreline.

By the time Crawley came to Gigg Lane for the return fixture the board of Fenton and co had shafted me and undone all of my hard work which led to relegation.

Ahh yes the infamous Mambo ban, once more instigated by Shirtliff's number one fan. I did protest to the board but they ignored me. Alas as I recall, justice was done the following week. I was in the dugout at Yeovil when I heard some chanting and noticed said person crying in the away end......

Great to watch the champions elect get yet another home win at fortress Gigg yesterday. An absolutley faultless performance, I actually dont remember the last time we suffered defeat at Gigg. Watch out Grimsby.

It was an emotional day yesterday as the demons of my final ever game at Gigg Lane were finally put to rest.

Well I told Grimsby to watch out! It really is only a matter of time until we hit the top spot in the division ... I can't possibly see us not winning the league now.

What a signing from King Kev ... 6 years on and his magical signings are still winning us games and likely championships. No wonder he has ended up in the PREMIER LEAGUE.

Nicky Adams was awful last time he was here, still a poor player. He has Improved on his set plays. Can’t tackle or head a ball. Can’t defend, pace has gone. If he gets kicked he goes hiding. Should never have been brought back. Another Day/Lowe disaster. Most have thee summer signings are far worse than we had already. Miller, Stokes, Dagnall, Gold, Archer, McFazdean to name a few wouldn’t get in a National League side. Must be very cheap players.

Howard do you believe that the Bury side on Saturday, along with all the quality summer signings (some of whom received references from yours truly) played with all the spirit of a King Kev Bury side in its pomp?

For those stupid enough to not know, a King Kev Bury side in its pomp went pretty much unbeaten from 16th October through to December 2012. One defeat in eleven in all competitions. Promotion winning form.

It was very similar to the fabulous result earned at Scunny on a Tuesday night. That really was a golden era.

And what about the 2-0 victory over Stevenage on that fateful Tuesday night that kept our survival hopes alive?
I believe there was a late one had in the Stanley that night celebrating said win.
