It would be wonderful to see a guard of honour from both teams as the King is paraded into the centre circle.

"You have to remember this fabulous night was down to one fabulous man". Very wise words from our friends at Leeds United.

So out of the cup, a blessing in disguise, well done Lowe. By the time the 3rd round ties are completed I'm sure that the champions elect will have risen to the top of League 2. Not interested in the game tomorrow, and with it coming so soon after Sunday's game I wonder if this will be an opportunity for some of the youth team to get a run out. Would be good to see the likes of Cooney, Shotton etc get a run out. Expect Lavery to start as well as part of his return to fitness.

Well an excellent result last night considering a number of players were rested.

It brought back memories of the 3-3 masterclass with PNE that I masterminded in December 2012, this led to my spat with Graham Westley. It also added to the Boxing Day drinkathon at Deepdale being ruined by the police.

Christ, another owner? You guys fire through owners almost as often as Notts County get through managers. I wonder how long before this one is bankrupt? Or will Bury finally start fielding a squad more in line with the crowds they get?

Tbf, first owner change since May 2013, not that big a chairman turnover is it.

So in conclusion and in his own words, Day has left us in a stronger place than he found us.
He is only leaving to spend more time with his son and it has nothing to do with cash flow issues or the massive losses.
Day loves and has thanked the Bury fans who he of course has never slagged off or lied to.
The five year plan was said as a joke
He is to thank for Danny Mayor
He is to thank for the football we are playing this season.

My conclusion, good fucking riddance to a slimy, deluded, lying twat. I really hope no other club has the misfortune of having him as their chairman/benefactor in the future.

Genuine question, but can Bury ever be a self-sufficient L1 side like he says he's going to "initially" try to do?

New chairman has been in charge for less than a day so things are a bit up in the air.
If we can clear up the mess left by Day then I don't see why we can't be. IF we are ran properly of course which is a big IF.
Dale, Stanley and Burton have managed it, there may be others. Clubs lose money at all levels, but the reason we have been losing so much is purely because of Day's stupid gamble for the championship, something he claimed last night he said in jest. The man literally defies belief.
The only thing that he has left Bury FC worth praising is the youth system, if we can get young lads into the first team in the coming years then that will help.

Isn't being ran properly not losing £50k a week? I mean, how're you going to shift that much out the way and remain competitive?!

Well unfortunately, as I have alluded to, the club and finances are in a mess thanks to Day's laughable gamble. The new chairman has evidently made that statement as a long term aim and not as something he expects to happen overnight.
We have at the minute five or six players who will be on big wages who aren't even playing, players signed by that idiot Lee Clark to help get us to the championship. (I know... ) But players who Lowe doesn't rate and evidently wants rid of.
Our Chief Executive has said the chairman will basically sub the club whilst it gets its house in order. Just to sum up the mess he has inherited, his first day at the club and we are in court over an unpaid bill.
We've had five years of wreckless overspending served on a mountain of lies and delusional dreams. It isn't going to happen overnight. We may have to sell a player or two come January as well, so be it. But I am hoping that off the pitch we will look a hell of a lot more stable come May.

For what it is worth, I remain relatively cynical regarding our new owner and his actual credentials. I just have to hope he isn't another lying charlatan like the last chairman was.
Time will tell.

I think any club like Bury, Oldham or Rochdale are going to see crowd growth stunted just purely down to Geography with the distribution of clubs in the area.

Bury do seem to have an "interesting" financial model though.

As ever, the fans are the pawns who suffer from flawed ideologies of dodgy chairman that the FA to sod all about.

If you want to get the jist as to what kind of utter idiot Day is, he once pointed to Chesterfield as a club he aspired us to be like.

Will be interesting to see what happens. As for savings, the departures of Edwards, Dawson, Bunn (permanent) and Beckford would remove a considerable chunk of that 50k a week, without affecting on field performance. Hopefully crowds will rise since we are in a promotion battle and playing good football for the remainder of the season.

I wonder what will happen with Carrington.

So from what they say they are going to be investing in Carrington further, and the end of the nonsense about moving ground. An excellent first impression, seems down to earth, interesting when questioned about putting his own money in to solve the problems he said he wont be doing that 'yet' until all the problems are sorted, so not ruling some further investment of his own money in the future. Very open interview about his life as well, including his battle with leukaemia.

Our first all round bad display since August, and we still managed to make a game of it before a poor ref decision ended the contest.
So why was I surprised to see the MBoard combust on Saturday evening.

Dawson is needed back
We have no plan B
We can't progress
We need three or four players in January

All a tad drastic, we lost to a good Oldham side. We move on.

How many of these claims where from Alan B and scales?

The latter making his first appearance since the 2-2 draw at Cambridge.

It is funny though, on one thread we need to cut our cloth and sever the wage bill, the next we need to keep Dawson and sign more players.

IMO, if we want to cut the wage bill, then the only transfer activity this January should be the permenant departure of the wasters and vast underachievers like Bunn, Aldred, Dawson and Edwards. I think we need to strike a deal with Beckford as well and get him off the wage bill as I doubt he will play again this season.

Its a shame as a fit Beckford would be like a new signing. But in reality, having missed over 12 months through injury is he any better than Telford, Maynard, Moore, Lavery or Dagnell. I doubt it. Easy to say that we should get rid of the aforementioned players, but in reality we have done well to ship two of them out on loan!

Good to see the champions elect move into the top 3 after a superb away win at Yeovil, this despite ming central declaring the end of our season after the draw at Notts County. Lets hope this is the start of a November esque run especially considering the fixtures we face. 7 points will leave well in the mix.

The best bit was when Rob Kelly left and being told by our 'realistic' fans that we'd be lucky to stay in the league.

I find it’s a disgrace what the club has done to Steve Dawson, he complained of an injury. Physio said there’s nothing wrong with you. Go and train and play. No scan or X-ray offered. Player does has he’s told finally gets an X-ray. Result a broken leg. The club is a joke.

No loss if what bur says is true … in truth I've never forgiven Dawson for his self centered performances in his last 6 months of his first spell. Saw us fall from 2nd to 9th.

The Champions Elect continue to march on, now up to second after a pulsating victory against Franchise. 2 massive games to come now. 4 points and they may as well hand us the trophy now.

Agreed re Dawson, his actions that season and his comments regarding the situation were an absolute disgrace.
According to the forum on Friday there are clubs interested in him, so hopefully he will be out the door in the coming weeks.
