Overall am satisfied with the effort, hanging in there well though Mansfield for the last 15 minutes started take control.

Absolute stonewaller for their penalty but thankfully their lad didn’t hit it too well and Brown was equal to the task.

Encouraging though.

Started like a train, could of scored inside ten seconds, gifted them a penalty with their first attack in the box but a great save from Brown.

Given as good as we’ve got. Hate to say this but crying out for Pope to hit in the box this although their back three are really struggling with it on the deck.

Unlucky not to get a penalty ourselves but should of scored anyway!

Please keep this up Vale.

Bossed the first 15 without threatening a goal. Penalty save was good. Other than that it's fairly even, but wondering where a goal is coming from. Mansfield passing it about nicely and have bought decent support. Still hopeful of a point if we can stay solid at the back.

Leggey has had a bit of a mare! Although snapped their bloke in two midway through the half... mistimed that and he’d be in trouble!

Seem to be causing our own issues at the back though! They had about five corners in quick succession all started by Manny not leathering it clear from our box!

I think we need get a grip of Jorge Grant a bit more though. He looks quality in possession.

We have literally just given Ricky Miller, a player I think Mansfield and Port Vale fans can agree is not good enough for this division twoeasy goals.

Best defence in the league have just gone awol, and quite frankly unless we salvage something this is a complete bottle job against a team clearly poor and for the taking.

The best defence in the league has just let Ricky Miller through 1-1 AGAIN from a stupid mistake but luckily he didn't finish this time.

This is a crazy performance, it's like we are trying our best to give Port Vale the points.

Just tried to give Miller a hat-trick again by passing to him directly through on goal for the fourth time this game, dunno what I am watching.

Absolutely tore them to pieces second half. Where had that been hiding! Literally should of been 5!

Manny was ooooozing class, like the early season Manny we’d missed so badly and Miller Boy only has himself to blame for not getting the match ball.

Only gripe is we made it a lot harder than it had to be with missed chance after chance.

Huge huge result for the Vale. Must beat Yeovil now... do that and we should be ok. Play like that going into the last ten games and we will be!!!

Lincoln, Bury, and MK Dons all win while Mansfield basically pull out a desert eagle and shoot it directly in to the temple.

The first half was deviod of much quality, but it was clear Port Vale were lacking any sort of confidence or quality for that matter, and for Ajose to have such a poorly attempted penalty is seriously hard to take. The second half is when the imposion happened, we kept literally just giving it to Ricky Miller for a nice easy goal, like we forgot he no longer plays for us. I reckon four times we gave Miller a chance to score a easy goal, luckily he only managed to score twice although it was enough.

This is the business end of the season now, and for me this result is the hardest to swallow for the entire season by far, I am absloutely embarrassed to be a Mansfield fan right now - the doubt in my mind of a top three is huge, and anything less than that is a complete capitulation.

Might sound a bit harsh on Port Vale, because they were given the chances and took it - So well done to them but to think of the best defence in the league completely self-imploding like that is unforgiveable.

You got some confidence after those quick fire two goals that were gifted to you, and to be fair even when we got one back you kept the pressure on but you lack any sort of quality at all. I reckon County are down so it's between you, Yeovil and Macclesfield for the last spot I reckon you have slightly more than them two.

Really pleased with that, deserved win in the end. Once again we look so much better when pressing the opposition like we have today.

Great support from Mansfield and am sure they will bounce back from this ok.

Really enjoyed that although we should have had more. Can only assume Mansfield has an off day as their defence was poor. Coupled with other results it feels much more comfortable tonight.

clearly an off day for Mansfield's defence today as they were comical at times, but we deserved it today and I thought we were better team. Yes, we lack quality and yes we look short on confidence but it could have been 4 or 5 today. Most teams lack quality in this league, the better teams just have 2 or 3 better quality players, like grant for you guys. I don't think I've played a team where I thought 'wow', every team has shortcomings, it's why we're in this league. Today though I thought we deserved it.

I'm not denying you deserved it, look if a team keeps passing it to the opposition striker for a 1 on 1 with the goalie they deserve what Mansfield got today - fuck all.

I don’t think we lack complete quality and Manny was taking the piss with the flicks and nut meg second half... individuals have lacked confidence but a result has been coming, we battered Notts last week and Morecambe a couple of weeks back.

The new system and the improved fitness makes us twice as good as we had been, prior to that we’d been decent enough the first four months of the season.

I fancied a result today, don’t know why as I said pre game and wasn’t let down for once. Hopefully now the monkey is off the back we can take this into the next ten games and secure safety.

Today puts us in a great position to do that.

Also big shout out to the Stags who boycotted and also apparently did the red card protest. Class!

I fear you may be deluded then, especially if you can’t see that was gifted to you almost entirely (Miller still had to finish it)

Best of luck anyway, like I said I think you will stay up.

Massive win. If we can repeat that on Tuesday we will be almost there. You can see why Mansfield are promotion contenders, the passing and movement was quality, but their defence folded time after time. Quality pass from Oyeleke for the goal. Not sure Pope would have scored those goals, and having a forward who can run made a difference.

It was gifted down to the high press forcing mistakes as we did last week. It’s working a treat but have only been able to do it due to the lack of fitness Aspin left us with.

We quickly figured out your back three are not particularly mobile and pressed them.

I don’t think man for man our squad is that bad, it’s certainly better on paper than last year but it’s had two months of dire form coupled with poor tactics, injuries and some bad luck in fairness. It should be doing much better than it has been, it wasn’t even considered relegation a problem up until early January but we’ve hopefully come out of the other side.

If we press with high energy we will cause problems. Defensively we are sound (8th best overall, best away from home) we’ve just lacked goals and support from the strikers to be honest.

Hopefully today’s two goals and countless chances against a high flying side give us confidence to push on. The last two performances if repeated until May will see us well clear of danger...

Our defence is the best in the division, and other than Turner who came on it’s very mobile for a defence.

Wasn’t today, they were like cart horses. Had it on iPlayer and within five minutes the commentary team picked up on how static it was and how they were a weak link. Every ball on the deck they seemed to panic.

Pope missing may have been a blessing in disguise as we’d have aerially bombarded it which would probably have suited you more.

Turner is a complete shambles. Would rather have no defender than him on the pitch.

As has been covered, we don't have the quality of a top side, hence our position in the league, but today was about us being better than Mansfield, rather than being gifted the win or getting lucky, and I'll take that after the season we had. You don't have over 20 shots on goal by being gifted every time.

I don’t think we were gifted anything, we played well, scored 2 good goals, could’ve had at least 1 more, and Mansfield created very little.
We are a poor side, with little quality, granted, but, when they all play well, we’re a mid table , at least side.
The 4th division is shit, to get relegated you’ve got to be catastrophically shit.
I don’t think we’re quite there yet, give our chairman a year and we will be.

You could tell why vale were down there, nof much quality at all, players low on confidence

Easily the better side today, and the win was thoroughly deserved, Mansfield made them look world beaters. The confidence grew throughout the game. Mansfield have a great knack of losing to sides on terrible runs

As I thought, Miller was obv going to score. Mansfield were shit. No point going over what we all saw

The best of luck to vale in their battles against relegation and the owner.
