I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months of Twitter bullshit being told a player has ‘already signed but won’t be announced until Monday’ which then turns out to be complete bollocks.

And then when we do sign a player our fans on Twitter will tell him ‘all we ask from you is hard work and you’ll be loved’ before the player does indeed work hard but turns out to be shit at football, and then gets slagged off to fuck on Twitter by those same fans.

Can’t fucking wait.

Anyone that thinks they'll be able to sign him need to think again, it won't be Zambezi, and any deal won't be done in a Harare.
two-week ban for diabolical puns.

Seriously dude, that is shocking, if no ban then at least go and sit by yourself in a darkened room and think about what you've done.

Stanley offered him a new deal, but he declined to come here. Not sure what to think of that, really. Seems to have decent pedigree. Helped them with promotion the other season from this league - and their fans are gutted to see him leave, which always reads well.
So already we know he lacks intelligence, just have to hope he's as no-nonsense and uncomplicated as they say he is.

By all accounts Edmondson is on his way, they have put a price tag of 500 grand on his head, and you would imagine there will be a hefty sell on Clause there as well.

Will be a big loss especially with Clarke being released as well but when the likes of rangers, stoke, Sunderland, Leeds and about 6 other clubs are after you, you wouldn't stay at latics.

Fave bit of last summer was that knobhead banging on about insurance after Whitehead got injured.

We've conceded that while contract talks are ongoing, we're probably going to lose the out of contract players we wanted to keep.

This means, Stefan Scougall, Jamie Devitt, Tom Parkes and Mike Jones are pretty much up for grabs now. Without naming names, Pressley has said that interest has come in from other clubs and we can't really compete with what others are offering. Scougall is the only one we'll be able to claim compensation for, and not much since I think it's based on how long he's been at the club and we only signed him in January. He's promising and given his career is only just taking off after appearing to be a bit stop-start I'd hoped he might stay. Devitt, Parkes and Jones speak for themselves are experienced players and will be highly sought after by clubs at this level, the SPL and in Devitt's case one or two from League One maybe.

Also according to Pressley, while we have made enquiries about Nadesan it has been made clear that if he does leave Fleetwood it will be to go back down south, which may be the sticking point as to why he hasn't signed a new contract with them yet. Crawley still looking the most likely destination if he does leave Fleetwood.

We've enquired to Rotherham about Jerry Yates, but they haven't decided what they're doing with him yet. He's in contract there but apparently they have too many wingers/wing forwards, have already said they'll look to offload fringe players and haven't made their minds up yet as to which they'll keep. He was a fringe player after they recalled him, but I'd imagine that going into L1, a homegrown lad who has done well in L2 would be a decent one to start out with, we'll see.

Nothing mentioned on Nathan Thomas, the other loanee from last season we've made our interest clear in. Sheffield United have transfer listed him, we've said we want him, he's said he'd be happy to return on a permanent contract, it just depends on what Sheff U want for him. He's had a mixed bag of loan spells in his time there and if they and other clubs ignore the Notts County one then it may be that it'll take a decent offer to get him here.

So we started the transfer window positively with three signings already, but things not looking positive at the moment. If we lose four out of contract players and fail to bring in three of our main targets (admittedly there will be other targets, the club are just open about wanting these players because they did well for us on loan so it will be no surprise that we want them) then it would be a case of one step forward, three steps back. The further into the transfer window we get then I imagine the more our financial situation will cause problems for us, as transfer targets are courted by more clubs, Salford become increasingly bullish and there's still several clubs yet to enter the market either because they haven't got a manager or they don't know what division they'll be in next season.

Why would we get compo for Scougall? He’s not under 24, unless there’s another reason we’d be entitled to it.

So does Curle. Although we'd obviously lose out to L1. Plus he was at Grimsby/Hull right? so increases Lincolns chances.

Has had quite a few around here. As you say, Hull and Grimsby but also Rotherham, Bradford, Chesterfield, too.

Four signings already. Some teams have only just released their retained list.

What’s he like? Remember him being a right pest and scoring against us
Good in the air and a handful for defenders but can't finish to save his life and can get quite wound up when things aren't going his way.

But that's not to say he's a bad player. If you play to his strengths he will do well for you.

We will 100% be in for Nelson and Kieron Morris. Both fit our ethos perfectly and Nelson in particular has room to improve.

Well he must have changed his view, because he didn’t seem to be his biggest fan here. Spent a lot of games on the bench under curle.

There’s no way Devitt will play for curle again. Played far better and looked more settled once curle left.

Devitt was brilliant for us in his first spell here, then he came back here again and was dogturd.

Feel devitt is a player suited to certain systems. For example if you play 4-4-2 I wouldn’t sign Devitt. He can play out wide but you don’t get anywhere near the best of him and he’s not suited in a central midfield 2.

4-3-3 where he’s the more advanced of the 3 in midfield, or 3-5-2.

Also if you play direct lump it forward football then there’s no point. Think that’s why we saw a better version of him once curle left.
