  • We have heard that the multi storey is being opened on Saturday so I think we will use that to be honest. Might try out the Three Pigeons though as quite a few of our fans have posted they are heading there.

Thanks for the help. It`s very much appreciated. Enjoy the game Saturday but not too much. Our need is much greater than yours
coming by car saturday and hoping you could help me out about parking. Is it Ok at the swimming pool or can you recommend somewhere else near the ground (got 9 yo on trip who doesn`t not like long walks). Advise on a child/away fan friendly pub wuould also help. Thanks in advance

Hi, there is a club car park at the ground, but there is a charge. I'd advise you to call the club to check if you can reserve a place. Other than that there is free street parking across the road from the huge East Stand, if you can get there before about 1pm.

As for pubs, it's pretty civilised down at the Shears Inn, which is about 1/4 mile from Shay, down past the big mill buildings in the valley bottom by the river. Google it and be prepared to have to really scout for it, but it's a gem.

The Three Pigeons, half way between the Shay and the railway station is famous all over England as a great pub for home and away fans to mix but I don't know how child friendly it is.
Will only engage with supporters of our brother Great & Historic Football League clubs
