Barca are being embarassed by PSG so far.

#prayforSaltire.
I had prepared for it earlier in the season as I knew the defense is even worse than Liverpool’s this term. Can't win it every year Stevie. :D

As good as PSG was tonight, I don't think I've ever seen them.

Fantastic result for them. Thought they needed 3 to hold on at Camp Nou, but with four they should do it.

And what a horrible night for Barca. They were completely toothless.

In fairness, we played better football against Angers over a year ago.

Playing for the elite club in the French league. For context.

So where does his top scorer come from in South American qualifiers then?

The french league is still one of the top leagues in the world, yeah not as good as the Italian, English, and Spanish leagues but its still a very good league.

Put your rod away. He misses chances but still has the numbers to back that up.

That was similar to Bayern's Destruction of Barca a few years ago (Pre Pep Era :D ). That's it for Barca this time, can't imagine that they can fix this at Camp Nou

Dortmund lost 0-1 at Benfica. Aubameyang alone had 3 Big Chances and blew all. And I fucking knew it before the penalty that he blew this one, too. But he did it in "big style", shooting a penalty like a 6 year old boy and I had to laugh out loud. One of those days where a team can play the whole day without netting one fucking goal (and they had enough chances to win this comfortably but in their momentarily situation....)

Spain, Italy, England, and possibly Germany.

That doesn't mean players can't be world class in it though.

...possibly Germany?

http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/country/

France is top5 in UEFA rankings. The Top 4 nations (1.Spain 2.Germany 3.England 4. Italy) have 4 Starting places in the CL from next season on:
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...xplained-what-it-means-for-the-premier-league

edit: Anyway. PSG with a fantastic match yesterday (one of those rare days in football when everything works fine) and they'll reach the Quarterfinal as usual. They've done it regularly (with Zlatan) in the last years and failed (similar Arsenal in the 1/8 finals year after year) . Let's see what they'll do in the next round. The French League has some very competitive clubs in the CL (PSG, Monaco) and the EL (St. Etienne for example) and they are for sure one of the better leagues in Europe (the #5 spot is proof of that, shows their competitiveness in a 5 years span)

So, today it's the "eternal CL match" again. Bayern vs Arsenal. Again and again. Boring as fuck to see these 2 teams always playing against. But I'll watch it nonetheless. In my previous post I predicted a narrow 1-0 or 2-1 for Bayern. Could be the opposite, too.

Germany's only good team is Bayern. I haven't seen French sides get battered as much as the Germans in the champions league.

You know nothing, Jon Snow.

Seriously, are you trolling here? That Germany's Bundesliga is on #2 for years now in the UEFA Rankings is only due to Bayern....yeah :10:

Dortmund were very good last night, they created enough chances to have won 5-0.

I know the UEFA rankings are credible, but...

Wolfsburg 0-4 Napoli
Leverkusen 0-5 Manchester United
Schalke 1-6 Real Madrid
Manchester City 4-0 Gladbach
Everton 4-1 Wolfsburg
Schalke 0-5 Chelsea

All in the last 3 years

I don't remember French sides get battered that often. Lets not forget that even Bayern themselves get battered whenever they reach the semi-finals. It doesn't leave a good impression on the Bundesliga really.

Maybe not 5-0 but 3-1 (Benfica had one chance too) but Aubameyang was a complete disaster yesterday (did you see his penalty? :fl:). Since coming from the Africa Cup he's a bit out of form. Anyway, a 0-1 isn't the end in the CL they can fix it in 2 weeks.

Of course there were some heavy defeats (but never against French sides), mostly in the group stages. No denial here. Gladbach is too inexperienced (played only 2 times in the new CL) . But even with these above mentioned defeats the Bundesliga clubs must have done enough to compensate these with enough points (wins draws) to get them on #2 (behind the unreachable La Liga)

Lets not forget that even Bayern themselves get battered whenever they reach the semi-finals. It doesn't leave a good impression on the Bundesliga really.

Only in the last 3 years and only against Spanish sides (La Liga is undoubtedly the best league (don't measure yesterdays result of Barca against PSG) and Bayern was only battered against Madrid and Barca (in one of the 2 legs) against Athletico they were the better team but lost nonetheless. Again, only against Spanish sides

Apropos Battering in the Semifinals:
Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid 4-1 0-2 (4-3 on aggregate)
Bayern vs Barcelona (4-0 3-0 (7-0 on aggregate. Before Spaniard Pep Guardiola took over at Bayern)

That French sides weren't battered in the later stages of the CL is simply because there are no French sides then. Only PSG in the Quarterfinals and that's it.

So, please. let it be. If you think that the Bundesliga is shite and Ligue 1 is better....fine. It's your opinion and I don't have to share it. Maybe you should intervene at the UEFA that they change their coefficients :D

And now please back to the actual matchday again.

I only said that I think that Ligue 1 is possibly better, as I said those heavy defeats are enough to leave a bad impression on the league.

I was harsh on Gladbach but the rest have no excuse.

OK, he can't let loose

I only said that I think that Ligue 1 is possibly better, as I said those heavy defeats are enough to leave a bad impression on the league.

Heavy defeats (from time to time in the group stages) and heavy wins, too (from time to time). What really counts is whether you reach the knockout rounds or not. And most German clubs do it (nowadays 3 of 4 in the CL, only Gladbach has now to play in the EL)

OK, it's your opinion. Not many here think likewise ( and maybe not even mistermagic ;) ) but for heavens sake, let's drop this fruitless discussion.
