We are willing to break our club record transfer fee but can't get one!

Slew ain't that bad either to be honest, you would of been better signing him than Palmer.

An absolutely snip at that. Business sense says buying a player for £50k and selling him for £250k less than a year later is good business, but he's worth more than what we're getting. I was initially unsure about paying £50k for a defender, but he's turned out to be an absolutely bargain, just like Norwich are getting. Just a shame there had to be a low clause in there, which was one of the conditions of him signing for us.

Wouldn't surprise me if we've settled for a lower fee but a larger sell-on clause or settled for a lower fee so that Norwich take care of a % of his wages while he's here until January. That'd be the cheaper way of doing it from our point of view.

This is the best deal for all parties. Norwich get a good player on the cheap, Sean can continue his development at a club he's thrived at and we don't need to worry about finding a replacement until January at the earliest whilst also picking up some money for him.

As expected Raggett signs for Norwich. 3 year deal for undisclosed fee and loaned back to us until January at least. Sounds like we got as good a deal as we could with still having him as a player with decent add ons should he leave Norwich (I think he will go on to bigger and better).

So many Lincoln fans said he was better than pinnock but we get 750k you get 250k hmmm and we only signed him for 20k!!

Chester only got 130k for Hughes, also this an initial fee we are likely to get more when he goes there in January.
He also scored a goal that beat Burnley earning us at least a million so I'm not that with how much we get for him, it's bonus cash imho.

According to Sky Sports Cambridge and Walsall are interested in Mansfield's Rhys Bennett. Apparently Mansfield want 100k.

I'd be shocked if we signed another player let alone one that costs 100k.

Bennett played every minute of league football last season and was fantastic but he's not played yet this season, which seems unfair on him.

I'd be unhappy if we let him go, he's a player I think could be comfortable in L1.

Lincoln put in a offer for him a few weeks back.

That was what got circulated but they 100% wanted Bennett.

Bennett and Pearce both better than Diamond and Mirfin would happily take either. Hopefully Evans' man management skills pushes them out like Green.

He's alright. Not really got a position though IMO. 'OK' left back, but positionally (word?) suspect. Not a left winger. Can play CM, but I'm not sure what role he does there because he's not a big tackler or overly attacking minded. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind him going, but we have no left backs now, so we're up schtuck there.

We've just got some lad from Wigan for the season. Flores. A midfielder, not sure if he's a winger or what

Rhys Bennett certainly fits the profile of the type of player we'd be looking at but I'm not sure we'd spend 100k on a player.

We do have the cash but whether we part with it is another matter.

Does he play right or left side?

Right side and can play right back. Only seen Mirfin and Diamond for a few games but Bennett in my eyes is our best centre back in todays market £100k is a bargain will be gutted if he goes.

I think your spot on. We still have need for a couple more, but that is now going to be a problem as the remaining players available will either be a stupid price or dog shit.

As you say our budget is not what it was, too many other plans on DVs radar both for Eco and the Club.

Not the ideal preparation...

Evans would be absolutely mental to sell Rhys Bennett for £100k. As good as any central defender at this level, with potential to comfortably play higher and just the sort which we should be developing and later selling on for several times more than a measly £100k - which is nowt in this current market.
