Need to be winning these games, no disrespect to Udders. They're a good side but they'll be one of the teams around us in 8 months and we need points against these teams to stay up.

Should be interesting. I think Newcastle will be able to get at their defence, but probably won't be able to keep them out. I think maybe a 2-2, or maybe less or more goals, and maybe Huddersfield will win, or maybe Newcastle will.

That's my Tip Of The Week™.

Don't make me change it to a Newcastle win.

Well if we're not confident now when the hell are we gonna be?

A Newcastle side that aren't particularly buzzing at the moment and are without 3 players I believe from last weekend. Barring an Ashley turnaround, I expect them to be in the bottom 6 too, so it's a game we need to be looking at for points too.

The place is gonna be absolutely buzzing, we never thought we'd see these times.
I think we'll win. And I rarely end these posts with an actual prediction :shut:

Merino starts. No defenders on the bench. What could possibly go wrong?

This smells like a 0-0 to me.

Newcastle look like a side who are going to be relegated. Ritchie aside, they have nobody with any quality to get the ball into Gayle. Long season unless they make 1-2 signings who are a bit better than Joselu in the next week or so.

Good goal by Mooy. Newcastle look bereft of Premier League ability, but that's probably because they don't have many Premier League players.

Newcastle remind me a bit of Hull last season, severely undercooked for the PL. Hull waited until January to bring in the appropriate standard of players, Newcastle can't afford to do the same.

Fair play to Huddersfield though, they've kept the spirit that got them up and added some quality in the right areas. But getting Aaron Mooy back again was probably their best bit of business.

on the plus side we lost our opening 2 games last season and went on to win the title. one can only assume history will repeat itself.

Fantastic win, quite a scrappy game and a brilliant goal from Mooy. 2 games, 2 wins, conceded 0 scored 4. Best start to our premier league campaign we could have asked for.

What a dream start. We looked to have learnt well from the fixture back in March where Rafa's tactics worked perfectly. Certainly room for improvement and if we'd have conceded late on I'd have been gutted at a big opportunity missed, surely Newcastle will improve. 6 points already, a good start was always going to be crucial, think the fixture list has been kind to us. 30 points from remaining 36 games should do it..! Not that I'm counting already

Lot of talk about Newcastle's lack of spending. £34m from the title winning side should be fine... but when you see that list of what they've spent it on... there's your problem. We meanwhile look to have a ridiculously good record of our signings being successful. Genuine quality and depth that was needed has been added. Happy happy times. Even MOTD have fallen for us.
