I’d prefer another 5-0.

Jorge Grant is too good for league two from what Ive heard. Shame he's only on loan, is it for the full season?

Actually cant wait for next week, It would be better if It was a closer game than recent times.... battering you 5-0 was good but Id prefer a proper derby day battle.

To be fair, last year was hardly a thrashing, it was 1-1 in injury time..

Making no predictions about it anyway other than that there is no way both teams are finishing with eleven men. Our big problem against Mansfield the last couple of years has been being bullied and just not being up for it. We won't have that problem this time.

And yup, both Grant and Ryan Yates (our other Forest loanee who should really be playing higher) are here for the season.

For far too long we get bullied by the Stags!
For far too long we have tasted defeat to little Mansfield.
Far too many times we've been given a pasting by our North Notts neighbours in the last decade or so.
Yet thankfully it's been forever since Mansfield Town FC operated in a higher division to the Worlds Oldest Professional Football Club. Before I was born , so say the history books lol

I accept and fully expect a defeat as per usual at Field Mill , against the L2 galaticos even with Super Kev in charge, great loan players, real physicality and a great level of form and confidence.

If it happens, it happens , won't define a season, never does

We have played well about twice all season, we will need this to be the third time to get a result.

I dunno, that 5-0 defeat a couple of seasons again and the 3-1 defeat last season summed up the season really as being shite.

Can make a genuine argument that's as many times as we've played well tbh.

Both season long but, as with all season long loans, Forest could recall them in January if they wanted.

Anyone that thinks that was a red card should go follow a different sport because you're a big part of the problem. A lot of you have clearly never laced up a pair of boots, embarrssing. How long until we make it a non-contact sport?! That's the way it's going with you muppets on here claiming that's a red and all these pundits saying 'he's giving the referee a decision to make' nonsense all the time.

The lad has dipped his head to waist height, ridiculous. Ref ruined what was turning into an interesting match up. We were the better side until that decision. County offered nothing. Then they pummelled us 2nd half knocked it about well scored some cracking goals.

Well done ref clueless c***!

“IF” we were to go up I wouldn’t think a cheeky bid for Grant and/or Yates would be too laughable.

What is happening here ????!! There is a very good chance the home side would of won anyway without a sending off.

We will never know of course because Knott recklessly threw himself into a challenge. That's three sides already that have come to marvellous meadow lane this season and seemingly set out to 'give the ref a decision to make' and been reduced to 10 men.

Tbh the majority of fans went home happy so there is your silver lining Impish. Jeez , loosen up a little lad

U ok hun?

Your view on it sums you up. "I believe it could have been a yellow or a red" haha why don't you flip a coin? You say his foot isn't that high and the player ducks into it...then finish off with Lincoln can't have any complaints. Pffft just words for the sake of writing something, no meaning to them.

With your side's red card record this season you'd have thought you'd grasped it by now, hun.
Just watched it and I believe it could have been a yellow or a red. His foot isn't that high and the player does duck into the challenge but Knott has both feet off the floor, studs up and flies in. Don't think Lincoln can have too many complaints, especially after Mane the other week.

Yeah I probably should've thought about what I was writing. His foot isn't that high the player ducks into it but it's a terrible challenge. He's apologised after the game too- so much for those 'experts' eh? Nice to see you lose your rag though.

And fwiw, only 1 of our red cards was a straight red :hypo:.

All of these lincoln fans spitting their dummies out because they didn't get their own way on their big day out. Don't kick people in the head and no one gets sent off simple.

If your feel harshly done by as you clearly do, then surely live by the common football notion that 'luck evens itself out over a season'. No idea why you are getting so wound up about it, Notts wouldn't of probably won anyway vs 11

All? Isn't that generalising a little. I haven't even posted about the game because I wasn't there and haven't seen the incident.

The red would've been been much less controversial if Knott had planted his studs into Yates' knee rather than his face, weirdly.

None of it matters !!! 4-1. 3 points to the home side, 0 for the away side but it's only 1 of 46. Maybe the Imps will get revenge in the return fixture and secure 3 points in the cauldron that is Sincil Bank

Like I say if you've played the game or know the game well then it's no red card, not even a yellow. Unfortunately a lot of referees don't fall into this category and see everything as black or white. There's far too many people getting sent off these days. Sending someone from the field of play should be a last resort. It's no wonder players surround the refs so much they know how card happy they are.

Anyway disappointing none of us got to see a true match up. Moral of the story is don't try and clear the ball when someone is trying to do a diving header from your blind side.

Impish I know you're a troll and I do find you mildly amusing from time to time, especially when you're winding up the Grimsby fans, but you're talking tripe here. I've played the game for a good 20 years, five of those for Lincoln's academy (#HumbleBrag), and I can confidently say I'd be livid if an opposing player booted me in the face with his studs showing. The law surrounding serious foul play is pretty black and white, if you endanger an opponent the referee has no option but to send you off.

Or alternative moral of the story , take one of your chances when clearly on top.

You have to score during your good periods

Lincoln didn't , Notts did , more than once

P.S. I'm not too disappointed that it was ultimately one sided ;)

I'd say if you dip your head down that low you're endangering yourself and can expect a clonk to the face as reward for your bravery. Ref blows, free kick fair play, game goes on. It's happend to me more times than I can remember. Ever heard of the phrase put your head where it hurts? Man's game (was). If we lose that side of it it'll be a crying shame.
