Match Day Villa vs Forest

Bit harsh on Forest this result I think, judging by the second-half. Forest played quite well, Kieran Dowell ran the show, Daryl Murphy got into some good positions (should've scored more than one though), Traore was very dangerous down that left flank and Bridcutt, Osborn and Boucha-however-the-fuck-you-spell-his-name alll looked solid. However, Brerton, McKay and Clough were all very quiet while Carayol looked absolutely dire. Had Forest had some proper quality down the flanks they probably would've won the game.

Villa on the other hand were way too casual in defence: time and time again James Chester and Glenn Whelan were way too casual in bringing the ball out of defence, and lost the ball within 10 seconds. Saying that, Villa were dangerous in an attacking sense with Kodjia looking very dangerous until he was taken off, and Hourihane also looking promising. Still, Villa didn't exactly look like a side whose aim is to challenge for promotion.

I think we just about deserved the win, but it was far from convincing. 6 unbeaten in the league with 2 wins on the bounce, and 2 points off the play offs. Got Burton and Bolton next which I expect us to win, which should put us in the play off spots. A tough run of games after that, so we shall see. Kodjia, although obviously not match fit is a big plus for us. Stick to 4-4-2 Bruce and we might just be ok.

Decent first half performance, just about deserved the win IMO. Need to get 4/6 points from the next 2 games before the international break. If we do we are right in the mix. Great to see Kodjia getting back to his best, great assist for the first goal and a great solo run to get the free kick for Hourihanes goal, Adomah is looking very good at the moment too. Still don't get why he wasn't playing at the start of the season though?. A very tough October with Blues and Wolves away so need to get a few more points on the board before then.

Forest are shite at the back again and I think they'll fight relegation again this year.

I think they'll be comfortable in mid-table.

While they may be dodgy at the back, they are very good attacking wise with Kieran Dowell running the show in the second-half, Daryl Murphy looked promsing and Ben Osborn looked solid. They are much, much worse teams than Forest in the league this year.

He came on and looked solid, the man he replaced (bouchlakis or something along those lines lol) also looked solid. They, at the very least, matched Villa for the whole second-half.
