I can’t be bothered clicking on the match day thread to read people’s thoughts so here’s a thread for this game. There’s enough fans from both teams on this forum.

We’ve nothing to play for other than pride and player performance.

I don’t think we’ll make many changes, I’d like to see Lowery, Finney and Dale start but I doubt it will happen, is Ray still suspended?

Hope we do the same as did we last year and stick 4 past you. I’ve no idea where this ones going, it could be a standard top of the league win or another random Crewe upset.

I’ll be driving to this one :)

9:07 train tomorrow for me. Will be in The Swan for dinner, an excellent awayday pub if I do say so myself.

Last time I saw us win away was Mansfield last season so I'm hoping history repeats itself. But then there's a stat where David Flitcroft's sides have scored at least 3 goals against us in all but one game he's managed against us (a 0-0 draw vs Bury in 2016). And he's managed six times against us so that's concerning.

Therefore I'm going with a comprehensive 3-0 win for Mansfield as we struggle to win away yet again.

I can't remember exactly when but The Swan had a refurb recently so might be better than your last visit. Personally, I've never liked The Swan that much but not sure there is anywhere better to recommend. It's all a bit rubbish!

Have a safe journey.

I think Crewe could be a tricky one tomorrow.

Last seasons debacle had me in the bar at half time and didn’t come back out, it was a total farce.

The game earlier this season was odd, though we won 3-0 it was far from a canter and a generous result, a 1-0 tomorrow would do

Trying out ifollow tomorrow as out away on hols

Many kind regards. Always have a soft spot for you lot as you were the team that got Davis sacked which would eventually make me enjoy watching the Alex again so you'll always have my respect for that.

Still think you'll do us tomorrow though with relevant ease. I just can't get my head round why we're so poor away from home. I've not seen us win away all season and I must've been 9 away games this season, even though we were seconds from a win at Macclesfield. It's something we need to improve badly if we're to kick on and challenge for the playoffs next season because our home form is actually excellent in comparison.

Nothing about this suggests we can win. But, then we thought the same against MK Dons, so shocks can happen. Just hope now that we've hit 50 points, the players don't put their feet up. If we do, we'll get mauled.

3-1 defeat.

I'm feeling very pessimistic about today. The only comfort I've got is we don't tend to get get spanked anymore, because if this was a Steve Davis team I'd expect to lose by at least 3 or 4.

Mansfield 2-0 Crewe (Walker, AJose) 4,850 (277 railwaymen)

Having seen the line up any confidence I had has now gone out the window.

Don’t get why we’ve dropped Kirk. Hunt could struggle today. Weird line up. Convincing loss.

Said it would be tricky. We've been rubbish in these kinds of games since Christmas. If we were promoted to League One now we'd go straight back down.

Losing at home to sides like Crewe twice in similar situations at home is appalling.

Sides like Crewe?

Yes. You’ve won 3 away all season and have nothing to play for. You’re also far below us in the table.

Yet you were easily better than us. With the players on show and what was to play for the way we played was ridiculously inept - on paper it should have been a walkover, but that’s football.

Just hope you get us this time next season at our place, stick on some Wonga and you’ll be rich!

We're a funny old side, with some funny old players. That pretty much sums up this result. Ainley has the ability to be one of the best at this level, but so rarely does he have an end product. Today like vs Tranmere at home it looks as though he turned up.

I have often wondered why managers of Bury, Swindon etc hate df. I am beginning to understand.

It's going wrong. The first half of the season was great, we had one defeat for so much of the season but we've now had seven defeats. We have been nowhere near as good.

Callum Ainley is easily the most talented player we've got currently by a long distance. You just wonder if he'll ever put it together on a consistent basis, because if he does, he'll do well in the Championship for sure.

Again, Artell names a bizarre line up that really shouldn't have worked but somehow it did. Not sure if he's lucky or genius, or maybe a bit of both. We just need that little bit of extra quality in all aspects, from the defending to the midfield to the strikers and we could challenge next season.

4 straight strugglers next up, watch us fail to win all 4. Would be nice if we could finish March by matching last seasons points total.

Ainley is definitely not our most talented player JJ. Kirk is better for a start, Wintle, Jones, NG and Pickering will go on to have better careers too.

In terms of skill, technical ability and potential to play highest in the pyramid, I would Ainley is way ahead of all those mentioned. Now, if we are talking about who will actually achieve that, then yes, I can see those players achieving more than him. But that simply means they have a stronger mentality than him, because they've worked out what to do to make themselves consistent.

I'm interested to see what you think Kirk is better at.

I think the players are shot.

Losing white and bobby were 2 big losses, make no bones about it. But we’ve just not been the same since the turn of the year.

There was absolutely nothing today, it’s of like we’ve battered Crewe they got lucky, they were more than in a game and deserved it in the end.

What concerned me is we were outfought - it’s agaonst a mid table side with nothing to play for, we’ve everything to play for (apparently) and put in that show.
With MK and Tranmere on hot form were a busted flush

It could be a lot worse - look at that lot across the road or those at notts county, but that’s not a performance I’ve come to expect

Crewe frustrate me and I don't even support them.

There seems no in between with you lot - you're either good and win or poor and lose. Won 15, lost 16, scored 48, conceded 49!

Is it just a 'Crewe thing'?

Pretty much that. It's just a Crewe thing. But it's what you get with a team full of young academy graduate s with good potential, some weeks they are brilliant others they make mistakes and are poor. They're effectively learning on the job. It's very frustrating but the weeks it does all come together it's also very rewarding and there is a sense of pride in the club. Which is very important at the moment with everything that's going on off the field and on the court rooms and media.
