Apparently to take control of the club, but now their fans are proper panicking that the money could of been spent for nothing.

Presumably the takeover never went through if Varghese reappointed himself director yesterday?

That's a bigger points deduction than the GB Eurovision song

More club involved in financial jiggery pokery than trouble, should've fined the crooks more, Gateshead is dead.

Feel sorry that bloke who pumped £25k in to save them for half a day.

Really? Are we still doing this? If they were a horse they'd put a bullet through its head. It's the kindest option.:£

Less than we got in 2007/08, when we avoided relegation before getting booted out anyway. I expect them to be treated with the same heartless dispassion that we were.

Rest assured that all deadlines to the National League and the FA will be met, to ensure compliance and, to hopefully overturn the sanctions which were rightly imposed on the club. It is imperative that we safeguard our 10-year affinity at the top of the Non-League pyramid for at least the 2019/20 season.

Not sure how everyone else read the National League's statement, but I interpreted it that time had run out and the punishments were handed out due to retrospective breaches, in which case the change in ownership changes nothing.

What deadlines? The ones that have already passed?
I honestly think they're just clutching at straws & praying the National League take pity on them and let them stay in this league.

I guess the absolute point of no return is the league AGM on Saturday week, but the penalties the National League were dishing out last week suggested they were trying to turn off the life support system so everything was done and dusted before then.

The NL have kicked them out entirely, so unless they go back on their decision it's step 3 if the takeover goes through, and step 7 if not.

So glad this is nearly finally over with, everything’s signed and just needs to be ratified by the relevant authorities

We are hoping to stay in the National League however I don’t think any Gateshead fan would be horrified if we ended up in Conf North or Evo Stick, it’s a lot better than the Wearside League which was a very real possibility if these idiots didn’t leave

The National League is classed at NL, NLN and NLS so staying in the National League doesn't necessarily staying where you are.

Well I hope Gateshead stay in the National. The team were good enough to compete last season and hopefully again this season. Aldershot fans you went down for a reason -- Get over it . You will be back. Probably next season.

Whatever league they're in, this season's Gateshead team will bear little resemblance to last season's, so it doesn't matter how well they did.
Also, I think Aldershot fans are over it! They don't really seem desperate to get a reprieve at all.

Correct, just want to know, so we can get on and prepare for the season ahead.....whichever league we are in.

Gateshead have appealed against the National League not giving them a licence for next season, just hoping the appeal is heard by Friday

The FA isn't renowned for showing urgency in these situations when it's "only non-league". Four years ago the Isthmian Premier play-offs were delayed for 3 weeks when Enfield appealed against a points deduction belatedly imposed for fielding an ineligible player in January. Needless to say the appeal was fruitless and merely shafted the three sides that finished above them.

So if the appeal decision is still pending when the AGM happens on Saturday presumably the divisions are finalised with Gateshead in the National and Aldershot in the South, then if Gateshead are unsuccessful they have to seek a place at Northern League level or below and the National Division runs with 23 clubs?
