It's going to be interesting to see if 32 year Matt Green is gonna be deployed in the same way that vintage Matt Green was. One of the traits I always liked about him was his energy and work rate, I'm just wondering if Jolley might try and reign him in a bit and get some of our younger attackers to run the channels more.
He usually tired here around 70/75 minutes (in the second half of the season, tbf) and needed replacing or fresh legs around him so in that respect, Jolley will probably have to do just that, at least in the final quarter of games anyway.

He is also linked to Blackpool, Walsall and Wimbledon so I doubt we are favourites, but he would be pretty much guaranteed game time.
And us, Tranmere, Sunderland and Ipswich so his Agent is getting a good cross section of clubs in the paper there!

We’re getting a ‘wow’ signing later this week apparently - not Doyle.

There’s some daft names being bandied about on our forum.
Ajose? Ok, to many not a wow but he did really well for you before didn’t he?

Vintage Green was a bit like that sometimes as well.

There’s a poster who definitely knows who it is but was told in confidence - which is fair enough.

He just said a class signing.

I doubt its Ajose but I'd not be unhappy if we signed him. Did well at us but not other places so based on his form with us I could understand if he came back.

Don't think its Ajose though.

Signing centre half Mathieu Baudry. Good player but another who seems hampered by injury.

we've been linked with David Ball ex-Rotherham striker.
Make me laugh sometimes i swear it is just pure lazy journalism for the sake of it.
Firstly our manager is on holiday and let's face it if as reported Walsall, Bradford, Wimbledon and Fleetwood are in for him we might as well accept we have more hope of signing Bobby Ball

Paudie O'Connor confirmed 3 year deal. Terrific addition for us.
Most at this level won’t have heard of him, but imo this is our best signing by far. Kept Marquis in his back pocket with ease and for some daft reason only known to Hopkin he didn’t play far more.

Reminds me of a Reece Burke and John Egan. He’ll be worth a Bob or two this lad.

Probably be made captain as well.

Hasn't been fully fit since he helped get Doncaster up back in 2017, decent player though for this level. Would've happily had him back here.

Collins to Forest Green confirmed, I feel sick. Mandy and Collins gone, no mention of Bennett and Mingoia still under contract at Accy, we now need a new attack. The end of last season's bubble now officially burst.

We have just signed Ebou Adams, a box to box midfielder, from Ebbsfleet for a nominal fee.

We've got a Gambian international!!!
Was decent for us when we had him for the second half of the season in 2017/18.

We tried to sign him pernamently, but he chose moneybags Ebbsfleet over us - Apparently they offered him double what we did, our board decided that they didn't want a youngster earning the sort of money the more experienced pros did and signed Dale Gorman from Stevenage instead. Rumours that he was on £80k a year at Ebbfleet and we was only prepared to pay around half that.

I'd take him back though, box to box and takes no shit from anyone. Very prone to a yellow card though.

Delighted to have signed O’Connor, so much potential to an already really good player, as above he could well be captain and only 21 years old too.

On David Ball, I wouldn’t go for him again, he’d be one of the better L2 players but for so much of last year you forgot he was even playing.

Hope Hanson does well for Grimsby, injuries have done for him at a higher level but back down here he’ll do a job. He’s got a 50p head and gives away loads of free kicks but I reckon he’s good for double figure goals this season.

I know Twitter isn’t always the best way to assess fan opinion, but the Leeds lot are amazed Paudie O’connor has signed for us on a perm - they feel he could have been an asset to them next season; which just goes to show how big of a signing it is for a club with L2 status.

One of which that will go underneath the radar with other fans.

O'Connor isn't that good, he was gash for Blackpool. There is potential there and he'll probably do well at L2, but he was never gonna be Leeds level.

He was very highly rated at Leeds and with their fans, but not rated at a club he was on loan at - this sounds familiar.

Anyway, only time will tell.

Collins is a great addition for Forest Green. When we played Morecambe the game changed when he came on the pitch. Would have really liked us to have brought him in.

Cracking signing that. Matty only stayed on the pitch for 5 minutes before seeing red on his debut for MK and was really unlucky with injuries, but when fit is a class act. Swindon looking pretty solid at the back now.

Cheers. What sort of injuries were they? Any serious ones?

I'm pleased with the signing. Read plenty of comments over the seasons about how good he is. Comes across as a leader as well in his first interview. Said he's not finished and wants to prove he's one of the best centre halves in this division and the one above. Should be a good figure to have around the club even if he's not playing for spells.

I'm happy with that, good age for a Centre back and has pedigree at this level, including promotions on his CV.

Small concern about injuries hence the 1 year deal but if Conroy signs his deal, we're not a million miles away now at the back, with Reid and Fryers signing on as our fullbacks/wingbacks. Just need some work at the other end of the pitch.

According to someone in the know, we should have another impressive signing coming in before the end of the week.

Apparently Grimsby are in talks with John Obika.

He played nearly 100 games for us and I liked him, he seemed strong, powerful and a decent finisher.

Soiled himself by signing for Oxford and he had bad injuries last season I believe.

If he can get back to the form he showed for us when we were pushing for promotion to the Championship, you'll have a very good player (if he signs)

Come on huge strides this season I think and definitely deserves to be higher than League Two. In previous years I would have said his strongest attribute is his work ethic but that he was found wanting a little when it came to affecting games on the ball - he runs around non-stop and chases down lost causes for 90 minutes, full of energy. He would pop up with regular goals but have little influence elsewhere.

This year though he has been quality and looked a cut above for large periods of the season. Still working as hard as anyone and chasing everything with the same endeavour, but also looks much stronger technically. Seems more capable of beating a man and picks out the right ball more often, his selflessness has stood out quite regularly even if the player he's rolled in has gone on to miss.

Not sure if he would be ready for the Championship but it's difficult to tell how players will adjust to being in a better side.

Darren Ferguson has confirmed that Peterborough have had offers accepted for both Szmodics and Frankie Kent, with Kent holding talks today. Would be gutted to lose both, but it would be a decent move in all honesty - not sure they're quite ready for the Championship just yet, so an upward-looking League One side with ambition and a record for moving players on would probably suit them both.

Kent will without doubt play in the Championship at some point though, he's absolutely quality and I'd say the better of the pair. Anything less than between £1m - £1.5m for the pair though would be robbery.

Strange that it originated from the Hull end.

Hardly prolific in the Championship but I’d expect an upwardly mobile L1 club would be the kind of place he’d end up.
