First home game of the season in front of an optimistic crowd of more than 10k.

3-1 to the greens, 10,967 (312 away)

Bit worried about the blowy weather, it always affects the quality of play. However, really looking forward to it. The lady who served my fish and chips last night reckoned 2-0 us, I go for 2-2.

Argyle at evens might be a bit too tempting to resist

Not sure on Colchester although I notice they lost two of their best players over the summer. The wind will play it’s part I’m sure.

2-1 to PAFC (11,246) Mayor and Telford with the goals.

If it wasn't for injury to Ryan Jackson, nine of the ten outfield players last weekend would have been from last season with only Jevani Brown coming in as an addition to replace Szmodics. Statistically he was just as good, if not better than, Szmodics last season so there's plenty of hope for him this season when he settles. He struggled to make much of an impression last weekend but despite playing in the same position, he is the complete opposite type of player so I guess it may take a little while for everything to start to click going forward through him.

This is a tough test, but possibly a good time to face it. Typically away from home McGreal can be pretty negative, so against a well fancied side like on this occasion I wouldn't expect us to be too adventurous and probably settle for a draw.

Weather will most certainly take an effect looking outside! All the best to anybody travelling to Devon this weekend!

Hmmm. Not sure what to make of that. Both teams wanted to play, but it did not really work. Quite possible that the wind affected the quality of passing. Anything kicked in the air was a lottery as to where it would come down.

Felt that we just about deserved our win. Am pleased that our dodgy defence has kept another clean sheet. Best players for Colchester was Senior and Jackson when he came on. Brown flattered to deceive. Best players for us, Palmer, Wootton and Edwards, with honourable mention for Sarcevic who was absolutely delighted with his goal, one I doubt he would have scored last year.

We did not really play well, but ground out a win. Colchester are a side who will be there or there abouts.

10,500 crowd a bit subdued, but really good to see the joy from the manager and players at the end. A bond is building, especially with
Lowe.

Poor overall to be honest. Mayor gave the ball away countless times. As the gaffer said, trying to hard.

I think we’re a proper goalscorer away from a very good side. The defence are ok and will cope fine in L2. Palmer is fantastic.

Liked what Colchester were trying to do, Nouble was a threat, Norris up top looked hopeless to be honest, Lapslie did well. Not the best following although it is a long way.

It’s clearly still all coming together but we are winning games, which bodes well for when it does click.
