Had a chicken ceasar wrap thing from Sainsburys today. It was shite.

The wrap was soggy and stuck to the cardboard packaging. And it tasted like some sort of cleaning product.

Still munched it though. I missed breakfast and felt weak as fuck by dinner time, so I had to, or I probably would've starved to death.
I usually get a chicken and sweetcorn butty from Sainsbury's at lunchtime. 6/10. Messi?

Yeah, I usually avoid supermarkets if I'm starving and looking for something filling whilst at work; but there wasn't a chippy or butty shop in sight.

I wish I'd have actually had a look round though, instead of heading straight for the fridges at the front of the store.

I was sat there, picking bits of cardboard out of soggy dough, when out comes my mate with half a cooked chicken, and a 10" cooked ham & pineapple pizza.

Bastard.

Morrisons Sandwiches are gorgeous. Chicken Caeser from Morrisons is excellent as long as they actually remember to put chicken inside them, which they've forgotten to a couple times.

Done me one tonight that would make Gino D'Acampo shit himself with culinary mediocrity just looking at it.

Went and bought some great fuck off wholemeal teacakes from local baker. Spread me a generous layer of proper butter (lurpak spreadable). Commenced to add a layer of florette crispy salad, thinly sliced extra mature cheddar, thick cuts of fresh red onion and fresh peppers. Diced me a whole fresh tomato and lumped on plenty of sliced pickled gherkins all topped off with a massive dollop of mayonaise.

Who needs steaks?

Morrisons are the standout lunchtime providers imo. Only recently have I experienced the small convenience shops but their fresh range is pretty good. So long as you don't go when it's been left out too long, their salad bar is really good and then you've got hot sandwiches and pasties etc.

Back on topic, had a cracking tikka chicken, cucumber and mayo brown baguette earlier. Always a winner.

Mayonaise and fruit? Don't think so.

Marmite is indeed grim. Someone should make a cliché about it imo.

My trademark sandwich known as "Sándwich especial de Steven mark 2.0 turbo deluxe premium model gti" is put together thusly...

Two slices of bread, both buttered - toasted if preferred
Two slices of pastrami
Two slices of Bavarian ham
Two slices of Mozzarella
Four slices of tomato
Gherkins
Deli style mustard

..she's some sandwich.

Had a fantastic egg and cheese sarnie on a baguette today.

Get a dinner plate, crack a fresh egg, surround with copious amounts of sliced cheese (Red Leicester in this instance but feel free to experiment) and let bake in the oven until the egg is properly cooked, butter yourself a baguette and generously stack the contents of aforementioned plate into it. Sauce (be it brown or ketchup) optional.

Caved in on my veggie diet a couple of weeks back. Went to my sisters for my nieces birthday this afternoon. Not usually impressed when I have to forfeit one of my mums Sunday dinners for party food but sis came up trumps with roast pork and roast chicken sarnies with stuffing, fucking fabulous.

Also worth mentioning that at York races last month my uncle had a steak pie sarnie, basically bought a chip butty and steak pie and when the chips had gone slammed the steak pie into the teacake (barm, bap, roll or whatever). Needless to say we all just stood and looked on in awe.

Back on the sarnies for lunch at work recently. Stuck with an old favourite this week. Salami, slice of edam cheese, peppers, onions (usually use red but only had white this week), lettuce, pickled gherkins and mayo on a wholemeal sub roll. Glorious.

Personally I like my pickled gherkins more vinegary than sweet so I was recently disappointed with this purchase.

Believe it or not I'd never heard of Mrs Elswood's range before purchasing these so I wasn't aware they're actually pickled cucumbers falsely advertised as gherkins. They're edible and they'll get eaten but they're way too sweet for my personal liking so will not be going back to Mrs Elswood in future.
