Would be a tough call for most fans I imagine. I am totally against this competition and haven't been to a game in it yet and won't do whilst the B Teams are around but if we got to Wembley it would be a huge moral dilemma to not go.
Especially if your club had never been before. I think I'd end up going regardless of how detestable the competition has become, as long as we weren't playing an U23 side.

A corker from Wembley has seen them forget about planned work at Shrewbsury's coach park area and by the time they had realised, we had already taken all the spaces so they've been given an area a mile away because that was the closest they could find for them. :ffs:

Copy and Paste job from LCB in case you don't get to see it.

Right ladies and gents, the club have asked me to tell you that they are looking to pay tribute to those Imps who are unfortunately no longer with us for this emotional trip to Wembley.

The EFL have agreed to a "Thank You" in the Wembley programme itself, so get emailing your forename, nicknames and / or surnames of loved ones to myimps@lincolncityfc.co.uk to see them immortalised in print. The deadline is Monday at 12pm

A great touch by the club.

26,000 tickets sold for this from our end.

26,000 people gleefully killing football. Utterly shameful, every one of them is absolutely responsible for the inevitable addition of Chelsea B to the Championship by the end of the decade imo.

The irony is that it's highly likely Lincoln will be at Wembley next month in a far more important match. Will the day trippers go again ?

I know I will. Given we have a number boycotting the Checkatrade I would hope we would take a similar number.

Don’t “cut your nose off to spite your face “.....
There’s no dilemma.....
Just enjoy the occasion and treat it if you must as just a jolly down to the smoke...
Take the grandchildren and children and experience something that true lower league fans seldom do in such numbers...
The game and result is inconsequential.....
The memories last forever

I know quite a few who are away as its the Easter holidays, maybe not as many but I would have thought 20k IF we get there.
Who knows what will happens in the next month?!

Me and the junior imp will be there in the family area, she's very much looking forward especially after we collected our match and coach tickets on Friday
Free hit on Sunday we're the underdogs in this but we like being the underdogs in cup games...

I think we'll lose a few. It's only the first time at Wembley once. There's people flying in from all over, hard to imagine the people I know doing that dropping everything two months later but maybe I'm wrong!

I remember in 2005 Southend brought barely anyone to Cardiff for the playoff final following a pretty good crowd at the LDV Vans final or whatever it was called.

Similar to us in 1998 we took over 30000 to the Auto Windscreens final in our first ever game at Wembley then a few weeks later for the play off final only took around 20000.

I thought it was 60,000 you took.

05/04/2009 #OnThisDay: Nine years ago the Hatters defeated Scunthorpe United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final. 42,000 Hatters made the trip to Wembley, what a day! #COYH

Well, congrats on winning the JPT, but back then it was still a half decent competition totally unlike the current format - an experiment to see if the idea of introducing B teams will work, and more importantly, a precursor to what is to come and what the fans can expect in the future*. If I'm not mistaken, the club you support is another one of those clubs that don't give a shit about the whole charade in it's present guise.

I've got nothing against Lincoln or their fans personally, and it doesn't really matter to me if they go up to L1 this season but I can only hope they get thrashed on Sunday. Sadly, I'm not holding my breath though as I reckon they'll win this farce of a competition.

*I don't give a flying one if all the chairmen of L1 and L2 clubs assure us that we've got nothing to worry about. I'm not so gullible as to believe what any FL club chairman has got to say.

I hear you buddy...
But I’m emphasising the big crowd that turned up to enjoy the day.
I remember the apathy that greeted this competition in the earlier rounds also....attendances were rubbish right up to the semifinals...
But soon it sunk in that at the end of the rainbow was a chance to support your team at the Home of England...no not Luton......Wembley!
I know we’re only a short hop away from there and don’t expect comparible followings but the day was a treasured memory for a good reason eventually....after plenty of bad ones.....
Just saying that those who choose to go shouldn’t be castigated by those who decide to stay away ...
From any background or following
The experience is something else

That season was the worst in our history for all the off the field events. Yet we somehow managed to get to Wembley and gave 42k Luton supporters a chance to let the FA know exactly how we felt about the disgraceful treatment of our club. There were a lot of very uncomforable sweaty old men in suits that day who were lucky to leave the stadium in one piece. The collective one finger salute made them realise they could never kill our club. That spirit lives on. Winning a trophy was just the icing on the cake.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Think Shrews are only taking about 12,000, looks like their fans have in part boycotted as i am sure they have taken much better before, but i could be wrong on that.

least it means crowd of 35-40,000 so should mean overall crowds down on last season, on top of that fewer B team English players this year got starts in the top flight and well....................the overall stats for year two will be worse than year one.........No doubt premiership Harvey will dress it up.

Didn’t realise Matt Rhead was a Stokie until yesterday when a mate mentioned it. Apparently he has a really strong accent, too.

You only need to take one look at the bloke and it's clear he's a Stokie :2thumb:
