Seem to be blaming the match ref but appears they took the covers off last night and now the pitch is waterlogged.

Exactly. If I were the FA I'd find a neutral venue and play the game tomorrow. Not very likely though!

Stockport have equalised at Brackley then. A couple of our supporters who live in MK are at the game as is manager Bobby Wilkinson.

Brackley back up against County.

Gateshead got a third as well.

Brackley it is, whom as they did with Stockport also knocked us out of the Trophy last year. We were awful that day and the players who are still here wanted Brackley to win tonight to avenge that performance.

Bring it on.

Absolutely disgraceful from Spennymoor. There should be repercussions for this.

I guess they'll be responsible for Bromley's travel expenses?

They borrowed our pitch covers for this game, the match should have gone ahead after the early morning pitch inspection, the pitch was deemed playable.

We had no rain on Tuesday up in Spenny/Darlo. Strange decision from the match referee who felt parts of the pitch were unplayable? After a very late pitch inspection.

Spennymoor should be fined.

When I saw our starting XI last night, I knew we’d lose - only one natural CM and only 4 subs.

Gateshead in both of our games have punished us for poor game management. First 25mins last night we were lathargic and slow to every ball. In truth the half time score should’ve been 4-1.

Second half a few things were changed, Gateshead sat deep and invited pressure, to our players credit they deservedly pulled it back to 2-2 and we had the ascendency.

But on loan youngster Lamar Reynolds failed to put a ball out under pressure and Johnson and Penkit punished us, it was Gatesheads only real second half chance at that point.

We will always look to blowing a 3 goal lead in the first game though.

JE has made us a much better side, the improvement is clear, but one or two players do need to be moved on.

Good Luck to Gateshead in the SF, showed a lot of resilience over both games.

Agreed, disgusting and insult to the fans and players who travelled up.

IMO replays in this should be scrapped.

Agreed on this - seems a bit pointless given the crowds are low enough for the trophy anyway.

Although the teams can agree to decide it on the day which seems to be becoming more popular.

To be fair to Spennymoor, a referee had already declared the pitch playable earlier in the day?

The issue is they had 2 more inspections after that one the last one being the one that called the game off. They failed to inform any fans these inspections were taking place. They also apparently spent the day throwing sand on the pitch to try and dry it and make it playable.

There was obviously serious issues with the pitch throughout the day and they don't inform the fans that have a 10 hour round trip.

Also with another trophy game to fit in next week as well as multiple postponment's that are waiting to be rearranged in the league already Spennymoor's pitch is only going to get worse with all the fixture congestion. The league need to step in now.

Even if Bromley beat them they still have another home game to fit in after Brackley beat Stockport.

Completely agree. Spennymoor still haven't apologised, the communication is shocking. We could actually appeal to the FA at this stage if we wished to do so.

Proud of the way our boys bottled it twice. They have truly learned what it means to wear the Orient shirt.

Has there ever been a more tinpot semi-final line-up?

They will probably hope Wealdstone get there then at least a few local Watford/Luton etc fans might go as I know some go and watch them.

Did all the top Conference sides just play weaken teams in the first round and go out?

Asking Non League sides to stay overnight if the game is called off on the Tuesday? Then what Happens wednesday if its still not playable?

It just backs up the option of scrapping replays, the fixture list down here gets busy enough as it is.
It really is appalling, no consideration for the fans or staff from Bromley. If it gets delayed until Wednesday and we win, we'll have no time to prepare for the semi first leg against Gateshead at home and we also now have two postponed league games to rearrange.

This debacle is the perfect advert for both scrapping replays and 3G pitches.

They can be at the minute albeit both sides have to agree (vaguely recall Gateshead rejected that idea when you put that to them?). That said, I'd agree with scrapping them full stop if that's what you're saying.

Nor should any replays/postponements take precedence over league games.

Have Spennymoor managed to get a home game on this year?

They're like a Braintree, Newport, Gateshead of years gone by.
