Jesus Christ York what are you doing?

The sooner you give Mills the push the better. He's making all the same mistakes he's done for the last few seasons. He's finished as a manager.

Also Jason Oswell's second hat trick of the season in the league today against NFU. His other one was against Leamington in August.

What about Simon Weaver he's worked wonders at Harrogate. 'I think the club's supporters have been tempted to regard him as a messiah rather than a manager'

Poor game at Brackley, lit up with 4 quality goals.
Curzon were aggressive, somewhat physical and whinged their way through the game, and their assistant manager was a bit of an embarrassment even being told by one of their own players to "shut up and stop talking s**t" at one point. But fair play to them, they stopped Brackley playing their normal game, hung in there, took their goals beautifully, and have a level of fight in them that means I'd be astounded if they were near the relegation zone this season. Didn't enjoy watching them at all, but they look well set up to be effective in this division. Referee and linesman didn't impress.
Brackley now picked up only 4 points in the last 5 games and next up away to York. Our excellent start is going a bit flat, and still think our 'real position' will be more like around 5th. Excellent on our day, but not ruthless enough and don't score enough especially when you consider 5 of the season's goals came in one game vs. NF. Jimmy Armson getting back from his injury would help.
Lowest crowd in the division... but we're a small town & our support has nearly doubled over the last 2 years, so the team is starting to have a bit of an impact on the town at last. 451 for a game vs Curzon is really really good given our crowds historically. Mind you, it was a warm day...

Great game against York for town all round. Managed to play well in front of a big crowd and the club managed a big crowd well, two things we have struggled with in the past.
In the first half York had one good chance which we managed to turn in to a penalty at there end. They put some pressure on in the last 20mins of the 2nd half, after we had scored the 2nd but Belshaw pulled of some quality saves to deny them a goal. The other 70 mins of the game, town controlled.
There seems to be no weak link in the team and its hard to say who got man of the match.
I dont want to jinx it but i think we can steel the title from Salford, seen as we currently have 3 strikers injured, including our top scorer and we are still winning games. They are all back by early November so we just have to keep it going until then. Its Salfords to loose.
Still cant believe Weaver has put this team together!

Our home defeat to Southport back in August is looking like a poor result. 5 consecutive heavy defeats. Really beginning to struggle now.

Dunno if the quoted bit is sarcasm. If not, Harrogate fans have short and / or selective memories.

Great first half, alright second half. Game changed after the pen and red, but we played well enough, roll on Ashton in the FA cup!

Nope! None whatsoever, just giving him a bit of credit where it's due. Based on the achievements of the season so far in turning the club around with some promising results week in and week out.

Have you considered the "transformation" you imply is rather more an indication of the huge amount of money he's been given than a sudden revelation of the dope's hitherto unsuspected "genius"? Stick to serving those cream teas your town has decided are what it does best. :£:£:£

Based on the players in/out this season, our wage budget isn't much bigger then last year. I bet there are at least 2 teams with bigger budgets then us . .
Anyway you should be someone who want's investment in your club. You'll never be a football league club without it. Not sustained.

Jason Oswell only got 2 on Saturday not 3.

Still he's on 11 goals already with no penalties either :)

yeah, you probably need to win these games to have a chance of top. Probably will have to concentrate on nabbing a solid play-off position. Two good finishes for us, but I think from looks of it our defence did ok saturday from the highlights. Many Brackley chances, but not many clear cut ones and both goals really should be stopped by our goalkeeper (he needs to really improve yet). Still it was a good point with 10 men and unexpected, need to start winning games i'd rather lose one week and win the next than get numerous draws as the points total rises quicker.

you were unlucky though that strike for equilizer is one of them 'hits in once in a hundred go's' otherwise you'd probs won it.

Or right, I got that one wrong then :shut: Vanarama NLN website has him down for two hat tricks and currently on 12 goals in total.

According to Weaver in an article in the Daily Mail, Harrogate wage budget is actually smaller then last year, with an average wage of only £350 per week. That would put the wage budget at about £7,000 if true. Less then I expected.
People always point to money to Towns success but based on that we are more sustainable then most would imagine.

Erm......... what success? You've won FUCK ALL, despite the money thrown at it every year. Make more sense to spend all that cash on a proper manager :£

Except there isn't a load of money thrown at them every year. Just a bit of investment. I don't think now would be the time to switch managers, seen as we have the best team we have ever had at the club.

You were superior to us in every area of the pitch on Saturday.

A really stark demonstration of just what a shockingly incompetent job McGill/McNamara/Mills have done with far greater resources.

Weaver is young, hungry, tactically astute, professional, capable of getting his players playing as a team and in tune with the way football at this level is in 2017. Basically the complete opposite of Gary Mills.

He has got it right this year. It's taken him a few to get there though. I imagine that the weekly budget is probably closer to £9,000 then £7,000.
Do you have an Idea of York's budget?

Far more than any of them deserve.

Saturday was awful. We just simply couldn't be arsed. Thirlwell's pen claim was a dive, and a poor one at that, but he had the legs on Bencharif every single time so it was going to happen at some point, if not then.

Felix simply ran into Kennedy every single time he got the ball. Kennedy was exceptional, and won everything in the air, which is surprise for an average height stocky lad.

Even after we made some subs, it didn't change the feeling of the game. It's like we were so unsure of ourselves on the 3G pitch that we were frightened to have a go. The second goal was a wicked deflection, but the scoreline was the correct one. We didn't deserve to win, Harrogate did.

Harrogate worked well as a team. It was entertaining to watch. So much so, that I'm going again on Sat to their FA Cup game, instead of travelling up to South Shields to see my team barely shuffle around the pitch and declare that we were second best again.

I'm with B2TF here, for once.

Harrogate's finishing position in their 9 previous seasons under Simon Weaver (latest first):
11th
4th
15th
9th
6th
15th
12th
21st
11th

Not saying this to be snarky, I have nothing against Harrogate, but that's 7 seasons of mediocrity with 2 very low-level highlights thrown in. Weaver may be improving as a manager - you'd be surprised if he didn't - but there's no way anyone else would get such a run at it.

To be fair at the time we had a confident side and injuries hadn't taken hold by that point. Our old crocks have shown themselves to be exactly that since. The drop-off in our performances since than has been pretty shocking.

I never said he's been great in the past. The only reason he is our manager this season and hasn't' been sacked is because his dad is the owner, but we are at the top of the table because it has finally clicked with him. He's brougt together a group of up and coming hard grafters. He's not splashed out a load of cash on non league stars to buy the title. Towns budget is good playoff money, not Salford/York budgets.

That's quite alright. I suspect it is only a matter of time........ :D

He was a shrewd signing in the summer for you guys, seems to be scoring for fun.
Any chance of borrowing him, just until the end of the season like :ohy:

Speaking of hard grafters, how's the midfield terrier Josh Falkingham performing for you guys.
I liked Josh he was a decent player for us last season. Hard as nails never one to shy away from a hard tackle.

He's been quality. Really good work rate, good link up play, plus hes also our u21 coach. He fits right in to the new look squad.
