phew, our best defender Danny Shaw has turned down Stockport today.

One of them 'vital for survival' players. To be fair am unsure if he's what Stockport need, while very very good, he's come off a bad injury last season and can still be injury prone here and there, maybe in the summer might be right move away.

Due to a conflict of Interest apparently as one of them still works at Martin Gray`s academy.

That's right one had to go, while the other one could have stayed with a contract until the end of the season. I don't understand the logic in that the opportunity of becoming a manager, obviously they could end up at York?

David Ferguson has officially signed for York for an undisclosed fee - absolutely mint player.

Mark Beck is also signing for York but it has not been announced yet - rumours of medical problems but we'll see. Not too bothered if he goes, although it leaves us short up top. He's been a shadow of last season's player.

Adam Bartlett was approached by York but has turned them down, this was officially mentioned. Well happy with this because Bartlett is easily one of the best keepers in the league, if not the best.

Rumours that York were sniffing around Josh Gillies and Tom Portas as well, and that they've supposedly turned York down. Gillies on his day is superb, hopefully we'll get more consistency out of him now.

Interesting, as Gray has said today he has not approached Bartlett.

Says clearly at the bottom of the article on our official site about Ferguson leaving - that Darlo have rejected an approach from York because Bartlett wants to stay with the club.

York won't just have randomly approached us without Gray.

Boost ahead of tomorrow with Bradley Wood`s Red card against Stourbridge is rescinded.
We have signed centre back Steve Williams while Ricky German has gone back to Chesterfield.

Alfreton 0-2 Chorley

Incredible goal from Nick Houghton for Chorley who was the best man on the park in the only side interested in playing football.
The scoreline flattered us immensely. Should have been at least 5.

Chorley were very good and throughly deserved the win.

As for us? I am absolutely furious. Best home attendance of the season and we put in that performance? Absolutely shocking.

Things are going downhill rather quickly at the moment. Just looked like a bunch of individuals today with no team spirit at all. Nothing at all in open play, heavy reliance on set pieces and a alarming lack of effort.

Very concerning. Not sure John has the full support of the dressing room on todays evidence either. Fortunately a week off means hopefully they can iron any issues out in training. I hope.

Interesting. Our chairman has tweeted his discontempt at todays performance. Very unusual.

No argument from me today. Changes need to be made and indeed will be. Credit to the visitors who I thought did well. Best wishes to them.

We're not 23rd out of 24th in the form guide currently.... Drifting... And the circus of Billericay
Town in the FA Cup next week for which I'm not sure who is favourite.

blast we were so so close today.

didn't see their winner as went to Toilet so suppose i can class it as a 1-1. We played well today, better than we did Vs Salford and Brackley who dominated play but in the end didn't get wins. Today i felt much more open and more even, helped.....or hindered by some grubby weather and a very strong wind.

Harrogate scored early and i expected a long long game because without Cummins we are light going forward, but the gate defence didn't dominate and we were able to attack a few times, pretty much end to end, but with neither side drastically getting many chances from spells of the ball.....then we thumped in a shot from outside box for 1-1 and game went quite even until half time.

they came out dominant early in second half as you'd expect, but again did not create much for their play and slowly we held firm against thier possession and got more and more into it, so their winner was a shock to me since we had ridden game out and were very comfortable as it headed towards the end.

and that goal made for a pretty bad day with shock wins for Leamington and Gainsborough and Telford FCUM and NFU all grabbing something.....it is going to be a very very close fought relegation dog fight.

Two bits of quality from the big lad Parkin won us the points but we certainly weren't convincing. Team set up not too concede in the first 442 I've seen for a while. Gray sprang a couple of surprises with a lot of talent in the stands. 16 year old centre forward on the bench ahead of Almond! Great first half. As with the rest of the season, Outplayed in the second by a decent Brackley team but Parkin's free kick won it at the death. gray bemoaning the fitness so Mills pie and pint diet not going down too well. Step in right direction but long long way to go!

Great all round performance today and a tremendous effort from the lads, I was quite concerned with the game today with all the shenanigans that's happened this week. Shame really I thought we had a couple of decent chances to put the game to bed, unfortunately wasn't to be and shit happens.

I suppose overall a draw was probably a fair result, we soaked up a lot of pressure towards the end of the match, and once again Bartlett pulled a rabbit out of the hat with another magnificent save.

I couldn't understand why segregation wasn't in place today, that was quite baffling.
Saying that Stockport's away following today wasn't what I expected, a lot less than I anticipated.

But I'd have took that point before we even kicked off, onwards to Nuneaton I can't wait.

that was a big last 5 minutes in that title race as its looking almost a cert to be a two horse race between Harrogate and Salford.....just do not now see both them sides dropping the points needed for others to catch up, one might, but doubtful both of them.

87 mins Leamington grab lead and at about same minute Harrogate take lead.......making a 4 point gap.

relegation battle.........who bloody knows that was some superb wins there for Leamington and Gainsborough in very tough away games. Southport are dropping like a rock, Boston manager cannot in my view have too much time left.........gonna be a right scrap.

only positive i have with curzon is once next week is out of the way we've got rid of all the top sides first time around apart from York, so some easier games Vs Boston, Southport, Gainsborough, Nuneaton etc, etc to come up.......have to get points from these games to keep our heads above water.

Interesting, as Gray has said today he has not approached Bartlett.

I see Mark Beck's move to York looks to be in some doubt after failing a medical. I seen him on Saturday getting out of a car at BM in a Darlo tracksuit, he must have been listening to 'should i stay, or should i go'

Seriously, on his day he's a very good player he proved that last season with a goals tally of 19.
But this season he's not the same lad, obviously Gray was playing him when he shouldn't have been, especially with no plan b. And now I can see him being out for a good few weeks with his injury problems.

That may be a good thing for both teams?
Not so sure City need another big man up front. There's a young lad of that type in the background and with Parkin and Rankine we're a bit top heavy!

Come on Darlo, get your shit together, have you got your ground sorted yet, we're waiting for you. We Shaymen see in Darlington a club that suffered every bit as much as we ever did over the years, at the foot of the Football League. We have a special bond.

We're getting there. Foundations are in seating deck is paid for. Now just need the final £50K for the roof to go over it. Rid of Gray and his hoofball after he 'dragged us through the divisions' with very healthy budgets completely funded from fans pockets. Interviews for the new managers position are taking place today and tomorrow. Despite what has happened I'd say I feel an air of positivity around the club. In the grand scheme of things we aren't far away from the playoffs after a fairly appalling September and with playoff places down to 7th it will really go down to the wire. Get into those playoffs and 1). It's fantastic extra revenue for the club and 2). Anything can happen. Certainly not writing off this season yet.

As for Fax got to say I've been impressed/surprised by your start. Look very solid in that division and consolidating in mid table would be a good year for you. Hopefully we'll both be playing in the national within a couple of seasons.

We certainly do go a fair way back over the years with some great matches over our Football League heydays.
I wasn't gonna miss last season's encounter being back at the Shay on new years day, brilliant ground with a superb atmosphere. Shame we didn't win like :)

Good to see you guys are having a decent season just outside the playoffs, I take it Billy Heath's noose around his neck has been removed and the stool hasn't been kicked.
I'm really pleased for the guy that he's silenced all the doubters, you've gotta give him credit like he's had a shed load of grief, especially last season. He's doing a great job this season.

Yep!!! Keep that special bond on hold for the time being. We'll be back

Well with Martin Gray, Brian Atkinson, Sean Gregan and several members of staff now off of the wage bill - Hopefully we can stick some of that "spare" cash into the stadium fund and get that roof added.

Soon as that's on, then it's all systems go hopefully & we can have a decent charge at promotion.
