Sam Minihan signs new extended (2 year) deal. Made up with that. Easily one of the best player in this division.

Squad is coming together nicely with the signings of Sam Walker and Dan Cowan from Salford and Macclesfield respectively.

Just need another centre midfielder and a target man and I think we'll be pretty much good to go.

We had him on trial last summer and he didnt stand out in a poor squad. Did ok at Worcester though as you say but I dont think he is the type of player to get you out of this league.

Seems like he started well at Worcester, the squad were informed they would take voluntary relegation everyone seemed to switch off or jump ship.

Don't think we should be too dissatisfied with Keane, wont be the same class as ZFA, but hes young (20), and seemingly did OK statistically in a poor Worcester side. Couple of seasons of North football already and being part of the Vardy academy shows he has promise, and hopefully this is fulfilled with our FT set-up.

Sounds fairly promising to me. A few more signings to come i'm sure.

Wow. Interesting timing. I dont think the managment have been happy there for a long time. Think they will struggle again next year. They need a goalscorer.

Chairman has gone as well "BREAKING: Club Chairman Ian Dosser has resigned from his position with the football club this morning after 13 years with the club."

so that managerial change is due to a takeover than out else.

They had some issues financially if i remember and were in alot of trouble for business rates payments (or failure to pay) so tough time for them this season as it stood.....maybe this gives them a better chance..

Apparently, Chris Millington who was at Curzon last season has joined Alfreton as a first team coach

With York mental health hospital closing down think they need to build a big one quick.
1264 bought season tickets, more than last year?

Chris Millington who left Curzon Ashton is apparently joining Alfreton as part of the backroom staff.

Pretty big announcement according to Radio Shropshire.

Wolves heavilly invovled in the take over with rumours of Championship players joining on loan?!

Obviously this is a pretty major development for the club. We caught wind that something was happening after the first scheduled pre-season training session was cancelled on Tuesday.

"Then today I was told that Rob Smith and Larry Chambers have left the club. This is as a result of new investment coming in, which I'm told is an offer too good to turn down.

"I'm also told the club's chairman Ian Dosser is leaving and Andy Pryce will be interim. This isn't a takeover and nothing will change as regards the current share structure or the name of the club.

"But I think it's a game-changer. We're talking pretty major investment and the prospect of some Football League players joining on loan.

"Sources also tell me that Telford are to receive additional financial support from Wolves, on top of their current agreement, in which the Championship side pay to use Telford's Bucks Head home to stage their Under-23 games."

Terry Gornell joins Chorley from Accrington Stanley, hopefully will get a few goals at this level.

Our 2 main player from last season have re signed.Amari Morgan Smith & Danny Parslow.
Also signed Louis Almond from Tranmere and Theo Wharton from Cardiff.last one never heard of him.
Quiet looking forward to next season but certainly not looking forward to standard of refs (seen a few Harrogate games)

With all the clubs new signings, is any team - other than Kidderminster perhaps - weaker than last year? A number seem quite a lot stronger (but can be hard to tell as every club says it new signings are great). Nevertheless does last year's tough Conf North look like its getting much tougher still in 17/18?

Not the most prolific of strikers but a steady performer who's come on from his Rovers days. Quite surprised he's dropped to NLN given had another year on his Accrington contract but a good signing for Chorley.

Curzon are weaker than last may, but stronger than last summer......but we did lose our goalscorer and most dangerous player in Warburton and hall.

our back line is much stronger, our midfield is also stronger.

we need more attack options, but I feel we may try youth way first. I didn't know it, but Curzon have 350-400 players among various youth teams from 7s upward.....their u18 and u17 teams won everything last year and think they may get a chance.

All our money at moment is going into replacing our 3g pitches outside which I guess make club a lot of money

Mentioned us above, but there is still a few sides need a lot of work, I think conf North again is certainly a league where you can split into groups. I could look at Alfreton, Gainsborough, Boston and Telford who have all really not done enough this summer to improve on squads which struggled. North Ferriby and Southport have been completely ripped apart and neither have much yet as a team, let alone a squad. You then have Curzon, Nuneaton and FCUM who have lost some key players from their solid midtable teams and need to replace them positions or could also struggle.

At present i'd have league split into these groups......but of course much can easily change.

Top 7 challengers:
Brackley
Blyth
Chorley
Darlington
Salford
Stockport
Spennymoor
York

Could challenge but unsure:
Kidderminster
BPA
Harrogate

Could go either way:
Tamworth
Southport
Leamington

Either solid midtable or relegation battler depending on their losses/replacements:
Curzon
Nuneaton

Relegation battlers:
Alfreton
Boston
FCUM
Gainsborough
Telford
North Ferriby

That is what i currently think, its hard to tell, but i think that group right at bottom simply have not done enough so far to their teams, the ones at top have either kept strong teams or added well, the others are a mix-match that could do anything yet.

Jack Byrne Solihill Moor's - player's player of the year has signed for Brackley.

Another quality MF ... although perhaps we need ST instead? We have a lot of ex-Solihull players these days... but crucially players seem happy being at the club unlike 2 years ago under the previous manager.

However Solihull appear to have lost their fans player of the year Liam Daly to Kiddie & player's player of year now to us despite both being offered terms... things looking bleak at Solihull?

How can you support 2 teams in the same league?

Born and bred in Telford - grew up watching them. After moving around the country and abroad, settled in Brackley and started watching them 12 years ago...Never reckoned they'd end up in the same division - Telford were non-league aristocracy of Conf Nat compared to the bumpkins of Southern League Mid Div where Brackley were

An interesting read Dave, but from Boston United's point of view I'm not sure I would agree yet that they haven't done enough this summer to improve last seasons struggling squad. 11 out and 9 in so far would suggest manager Adam Murray has been working hard to improve on last seasons disappointing campaign. Of course, you may well have compared other clubs signings to those made by Boston - which I admit I haven't - and you could end up having made an accurate prediction about us. Naturally, we're hoping for better things!!

its probably more-so all pot luck guessing as i don't know masses about this division, but did have a look around when people bought. You have had a good turn-around which you needed as you looked shocking in that last game of season, but of your mass of signings was only a couple for me stood out, McGuire and Mwanyogo certainly look good additions.........others like most of rest of league's signings are in the could be good, could be bad......I think the fact you have signed pretty much an entire new back line for me is a surprise as you scored so few goals and have not drastically added anything to the forward line.

I whacked you down there as you've got an entire new defence, if that clicks you'll be fine, if it doesn't you could be in trouble as you have not added much going forward, but you are pretty much mostly in the same group as Curzon.....should be solid, lacks an attack to do much more than midtable.

Hope it goes well as your management team come from one of my fave Carlisle teams in Murray and Hawley so i wish them well, but don't go off any of my predictions, usually shocking!
