If he grabbed him by the throat then why isn't it in the highlights? Adams chatting shit?

Saw the highlights and their penalty was a joke, nothing in it.

Posh beat Dale 4-1 today, but strangely enough there was very little between the teams apart from the finishing. In fact Dale could and should have been out of sight after the first 20 minutes.

However, it is a long time since we have looked as clinical as a strike force as Cummins and Godden today which is a good sign....For their part Dale play some very neat football and could well be top half this season...definitely a much better team than Bristol Rovers who we beat last week without getting out of 1st gear. They were a very poor team and must be one of the faves for relegation.

If Peterborough and Barnsley don't at least make the Play-Offs this year I will be very surprised, their squads are quality.

Just seen Walsall's penalty and no way was that a penalty, was a great tackle by Lund.

???

Zeli knocks the ball away from him and then goes down under the challenge, seems pretty stonewall to me.

Looks to me like Lund pokes the ball away, Zeli doesn't knock it away from him.

Not long back from an away day in Bristol. Glad to get our first points on the board and its now 7 wins in a row v the Gas according to some on the supporters coach.

Its been a busy week in the transfer market with a number of comings and goings after what had been a quiet summer for us but hopefully we'll settle down now and find some form.

I must say I thought it was a good game I felt both teams played some entertaining stuff.

Mansfield (A) in the cup followed by Charlton (H) coming up next for us.

From listening to the live commentary Oxford sounded poor with the fans quickly on their backs. For the Cods, the team has still not fully meshed but managed to grab the points. Dont understand why but Oxford seem incapable of beating the Cods.

Seems to be the case with a lot of sides.

The quality seems to be very high this season - I suppose with more money flooding the Championship, the quality of player is going to increase going down the pyramid. (I suppose it’s a lazy thing for me to say having just played 2 promotion favourites).

Does it seem higher this year than most? Getting out of this division seems exceptionally difficult for a club without substantial financial backing, far more so when we last did it in 2005.

All three relegated teams from the championship went straight back up last season; there's your answer.

As for the quality of the league it's probably about the same as last year. It was, however, a noticeable step up when we came back having won L2.

Without sounding arrogant Sunderland seemed to me the first team that we’ve played that were genuinely far better than us in terms of quality for a long time - I’m talking 10 years since we were last here. A bigger gap than when we finished outside top 5 in the Conference. We as a side worked our bollocks off yesterday whilst I sensed that Sunderland had a lot of reserves left in the tank. As a result we have no choice but to shuffle the deck v WBA on Tuesday, as they’ve put a lot into these first 2 games. That said, i suppose it takes time to adjust to the level.

A top 10 finish I’m happy with. Promotion is perhaps overly ambitious.

Think that’s quite a worrying statistic; I’d say at least 2/3 could do it this year. It’s proving that the distribution of funds down the leagues aren’t materialising.

Jonesy was moaning last season about teams talking about Luton’s budget - what was he doing yesterday? Doing the same to Sunderland by saying they can “blow every team out of the water by their huge budget”. It sounds like John Coleman et al last year.

I suppose in recent years you’re getting Championship clubs paying £3-5m for L1 players but only rare occurrences. There seemed to be several £5-10m players bought this summer in the Championship at least.

I have not seen the highlights, but live in front of me I thought the lino who gave it was wrong. That said a little later there was a cast iron penalty at a corner that was not given. So we got one we should not have, but we were denied one we should. All evens out in the end.

This league is too easy.

King McCann has got us playing exciting football once again, up the Rovers!

2 wins from 2 for Pompey, and conceded one goal (own goal).. I appreciate it's only 2 games in, but there is something to feel confident about.

Well we got tonked 3-0, time will tell whether this was just a bad day at the office or a darker sign of things to come.

But we should expect a few poor results at a higher level at least.
Missing Tyson,Cowan-Hall and Kashket up front didn't help our cause, that's a lot of pace and hopefully at least Tyson will be back soon.

You have 3 strikers in that squad with a combined age of 100 - and you worry about pace!?

Not really an appropriate thread to post this in so may as well post it here.

We're supposedly up for sale for £14M. Not sure who in their right mind is gonna pay that for us.

There's been rumours for a long time that our chairman wants to buy Blackpool, this could be the start of that happening.

I read that on our forum, but couldn't find an article or anything.

Swann's got quite a few businesses in Blackpool, I think. Good luck to him getting £14m for Scunny, mind. I'm assuming that's basically what he's put in over the last few years he wants back?

Yeah he has a few businesses in Blackpool, think he might live there too.

No clue what he's put in. He put in a lot the last few years but we wasted it under Graham Alexander. He also lost a lot buying into a council ran project which got cancelled so he's hoping to get that back.

Cowan-Hall and Kashket are early 20's mate not all of our strikers are claiming their pension just yet. i expect at least 1 winger/striker to come in on a seasons loan before the loan market closes at the end of this month.

Chris Powell up to his usual tricks, I see. Derek Adams is one of the nicest guys in football and must have been heavily provoked to get involved in a touchline altercation. It's just not his style. :animatedf:

We were really disappointing yesterday.
Very similar to the majority of last season in terms of a real negative style of football.
The free-flowing football of the final stages of the season/play offs seemed to have disappeared.

That said, Wimbledon were very good. Played some very decent football at times and we far more physical than us.

My 4th time in the Kingsmeadow away end and my God it is horrendous. One of the worst.

I did warn some of your fans before about the view.. anyway only for another season or so then new stadium. Thought your side were beat and tidy bit no real threat. Lower mid table on one glance. We looked decent again and I feel we are better than many on here expect for this season.

Yeah, looking forward to that.

Agree with the mid-table comment.

Have to laugh at Doncaster fans on 1FF that think because they beat Southend and Wycombe in their first 2 games they're going to win the league  There's nothing i like more than seeing boasting fans of any team telling us they'll win the league after a couple of games have a bad run and call for their manager to be sacked as they drop down League 1 :smug:

If your referring to HW you will learn he’s a wum so best ignored. Given the shite we’ve had to endure under our last two managers you should forgive us getting a bit excited I mean we are actually shooting at goal now. I doubt you will find any of us seriously thinking we will win the league or be auto promoted.

Easily the most entertaining 0-0 I've ever seen although frustrating at times. Pretty pleased with our performance.

I stewarded at the back of that terrace for a while and couldn't see a damn thing as I'm only 5'4". Thankfully I was asked to run the car park which means I only miss 10-15 minutes of the match.
