Glad to see Stopforth doing well. Always ran his socks off for for us. I thought he ran out of steam towards the end of his time with us and wasn't too disappointed to see him go, but it sounds like he's back to his best.

I think I miss his post-match interviews more than anything. Mad as a box of frogs.

Fellow National League Northers,

Who has been your stand out player so far this season?

For us i'd have to say Sam Walker. Signed from Salford last summer never seemed to fit into Gannon's plans and was eventually sent out on loan to Curzon Ashton.

This season has really knuckled down and worked on his fitness and it's reaping rewards for him personally and the team.

Agree with Walker. Finally looks like the player we thought we signed last season.

Nyal Bell has also looked good. Just needs to learn a bit of composure in front of goal and we could have a decent player on our hands.

I'd probably go with Luke Trotman for us he's having another solid season at right-back.
He's very highly rated and was once at Luton Town and believed to be monitored by a host of clubs before a broken leg halted his progress.

If I remember correctly, which I may not, we gave him a contract because he broke his leg during his scholarship so didn’t get a fair crack at it.

Odd that he’s moved is far away from where he started out, normally our ex youth players turn out for local non league sides like Hitchin etc but good to hear him doing well.

He's one of many player's that has a lot of travelling to do, we picked him up from Nuneaton Borough so i would imagine he lives somewhere in the Midlands area or maybe beyond?

Yes still only 21-year-old he's doing very well, he could definitely step up to the National League if given the opportunity at some stage of his career.

Not sure how long the shambles at Nuneaton has to tun. They have been placed under another transfer embargo

Tomorrow we entertain the Hereford Bulls at Edgeley Park. It's been a good while since we played Hereford (in their previous guise) so a bit of nostalgia for both clubs this weekend I suspect.

We had a bumpy patch earlier in the season but things do seem to be clicking better the past few weeks with 3 wins on the bounce including tricky away games at South Shields and Darlington.

Looking at the form book, Hereford have been struggling of late but form books were made to be thrown out of the window and with a new manager at the helm there is always an expectation of a bounce in results.

Two goals for Frank Mulhern against Corby will do his confidence the world of good. Unfortunately missing the game but I'll be willing County on to victory!

Matt Yates recalled by Derby yesterday

Matt Yates joins Hereford on loan today

Is Tim Harris banned from driving or something? Does his extensive scout network not get past Gloucester cathedral?! Anyway he's properly pissed on his chips at our club now with all this underhand nonsense. For the record Yates on the whole a good keeper and a loss, although he has made 2 howlers in his last 4 games leading to goals for the opposition.

Back to a full league program tomorrow.

AFC Telford v Chorley
Altrincham v Alfreton
Boston v Blyth
Bradford PA v Kidderminster
FC United v Darlington
Guiseley v Brackley
Leamington v Curzon
Southport v York
Spennymoor v Ashton United
Stockport v Hereford

Historically we have a very good record at Moss Lane. We need that to continue tomorrow and to get back on track in the league.

I read somewhere if Southport lose tomorrow it will be their worst run in 15 years. Ouch :surr:

Huge game for us tomorrow down in Manchester. We've surely gotta win this one looking at the league table as it stands, chance to kick start our season into gear.

Especially with FCUM missing three player's due to getting their marching orders against Witton Albion, also five of their player's are out injured. I mean what could go wrong?

Possibly the weather? Not looking good the forecast with overnight heavy rain and all day Saturday in Manchester. Luck as it not far to travel to watch the lads.

After the disappointment of last week don't think there's a worse game we could have to try and bounce back. Bradford PA away while a storm is hitting Britain. Probably going to lose today but I'll take a draw right now

After conceding an equaliser in the last minute, we are now only 5 clear, still unbeaten but could do with a win next game
