Agree with your thoughts Swedes, we were poor, our normally reliable CB's were not at the races today, never seen Scott Leather bullied like that, your wide players were very good indeed. Can't be often a player scores a hat trick away from home and ends up on the losing side though. We go again Tuesday to put things right.
Dont worry. All you have to do on Saturday is turn up. The three points are yours.

In past seasons I would have been worried as we usually struggled against the supposed weaker sides but this squad has more steel and will battle for every point so there is always cause for optimism, nonetheless will not be over optimistic.

Good question mate. Leamington are pleased with taking the point due to everything that went on on the day. On paper, a game they felt they should be winning. Referee was a bit iffy (for both sides) so grabbing a draw late on isn't a bad return. Always feels a point gained when you grab an equaliser late on. Hereford didn't really look too threatening but composed themselves well at key times during the game, especially with going down to 10 and fighting against the relentless Brakes pressure. Entertaining game though!
I think you've got a good chance of finishing above us. We are in freefall.

Darlo fans how’s muggleton? You fed up at long throws yet.3 games for me.
Feel a bit sorry for him,he always tries 100% but not very good, but fans get fed up with the way the team plays when he is playing.

He was pretty decent in his debut at Blyth on Saturday and kept a decent Adam Wrightson quiet all afternoon. The throw in looks an absolute weapon. And tbh if we are going to be playing Ainge upfront again then it makes sense to get the ball in the box and force a mistake.

Not going to hate or love him after one game. But a decent start from him.

The circus at Nuneaton has reared its head again.

Chairman Nick Hawkins has stepped down amid rumours they have defaulted on HMRC payments and have to pay a bill of £31,000 by the end of this week

Very good performance tonight against a very good Brackley side, some excellent football played in a very entertaining game which Chorley controlled well to run out 2-0 winners after Brackley came close in the first half, denied by some excellent goalkeeping by Matt Urwin. The Newbys were once again outstanding with Alex taking the MOM for a terrific performance. On to Saturday now with a 6 point lead at the top of the table.

He had a decent debut on Saturday and definitely earned a good round of applause from us as he left the field, unfortunately he picked up an injury.

Whether the debut was a flash in the pan time will tell, i thought he was solid never put a foot wrong. His long throws got caught out in the strong wind once or twice but they were eye-catching.

As a fan the only time I'm fed up is if and when we introduce Jonny Burn? As luck would have it! Never.

to be honest would rather have muggleton any day than Burn,it’s when manager starts to get him to take every throw in ,when you start to worry.

Big game down at EP on Saturday as we entertain bogey team AFC Telford United (formerly AFC Telfwolves).

Our form has been nothing short of superb since November, but JG admitted tiredness appeared to set in last week with the draw away at Guiseley. Telford will prove to be very tough opposition but if where going to catch Chorley then these are the games we need to win!

Tomorrow its to Chorley at home.

We are rubbish at home quite frankly. Reece Styche is banned for three matches too.

I would expect us to be up for it being the league leaders. However I expect defeat and if we do lose if a funny way I wouldnt mind if we drop to 19 as that means Guiseley and Hereford will have beaten two of the bottom three

Would be nice! Although we seem like we'll be safe, still have job to do really. Still, felt certain to go down at times last season..

Two terrible teams separated by 2 world class goals from York and set piece for us. After last weeks highs, normal service has resumed.

Well... Next 4 now must wins to keep Stockport at bay. Funny team selection. Can't see why leather and Wilson were dropped. If they're available to be on the bench, then they must be fit, so start with your strongest possible lineup. I feel like that stockport game will be the decider.

A poor game made even worse by a shockingly bad referee, whose only good decision was to blow up for half-time rather than let the players carry on waiting around following what looked a terrible injury to Muggleton. The fact that both sets of fans were unhappy with the ref says it all. Very little quality on show from either side, a typical NLN mid-table niggly borefest unfortunately, and one to forget.

I'm absolutely chuffed after today's performance. I thought we were in an alternative universe when we went in 2-0 up. Came out for second half and saw Asante withdrawn and feared the worse, but our 3rd goal steadied nerves. Old boy Ben Davies then struck a superb free-kick to make it 3-1 and we scored a 4th. Decent ref who saw a dive from the aptly named Rollin and booked him. Not so sure other refs in this league might have spotted that. Boston also struck the woodwork twice early doors, but we were good value for the win and Dudley's goal (2nd) was sublime. Can't understand why we've been so poor for the last 3 months when we can play like that.

Alfreton 2-1 Chorley.

My oh My. Where has that performance been all season?

Billy continues to frustrate the hell out of me. Despite a brilliant cameo on Tuesday in the County Cup. Danny O Brien was on the bench.

So we started with no recognized striker. Styche starts a 3 match ban, Peniket is injured. Bacon is out on loan however will be recalled tonight. Bateson has gone to Australia. Peniket is out injured too.

However it was a commendable effort in the first half. Thought we were a tad unlucky to come in at the break one down.

Luke Shiels picked up a knock just before half time. This forced Billy to go two up front and bring Danny O Brien on.

He made a huge difference and inspired a magnificent second half turnaround.

The desire and effort was fantastic but a special mention to Danny Clarke and Danny O Brien who both superb.

O`Brien winning goal was an absolute wonder goal from all of 40 yards! Nick Haughton eat your heart out haha.

Cant wait for the highlights. Could have made things more comfortable for the second consective home game we missed a penalty.

No matter this time we didnt let it deter us and kept going. Finally a home performance to be proud of. 10 points clear now of the drop with some winnable games upcoming. Suddenly things looks more positive.

Well DSL we were crap today, didn't turn up, and not helped by very strange team selection. How the hell McGurk fats a start I do not know and our best defender left on the bench. Unbelievable. Your second was a belter, bit like Haughtons against you a couple of seasons ago, though not quite in the same class. You obviously felt sorry for us by blazing the penalty over the bar. Thought Meppen Walter was a bit fortunate to get away with yellow for hauling down your man second half, felt he was the last man and could have gone. Oh well back at next week at home to Ashton Utd.

Chorley lose two in three against pretty average sides. Are they bottling it?

Bloody hell, game 'n a half at Edgeley Park today. I really didn't think much of Telford but they took their chances and nearly came away with a point. Their first came from overloading the six-yard box from a corner, second from a direct free kick when Hinchliffe left too much room on his right-hand side (clearly thought the wall had it covered, that was only the case if the other guy took it right-footed; instead someone else took it left-footed and sent it under the wall which should never have jumped), then nearly grabbed the point near the end but for Hinchliffe's outstretched foot.

County's first was when Bell coolly finished when one-on-one with the 'keeper (in all fairness I thought he did very little else all game, doesn't look at the right level yet), second was a pinpoint free kick from Warburton right in the far corner, third was that man Warburton again finishing from a tight angle. On overall play I thought we were certainly superior but nearly the authors of our own downfall. One helluva game for the neutrals though.

Edit - forgot to mention, Darren Stephenson MOTM by a country mile. Lots of others had great games, but he provided so much impetus for us going forward. This is what makes his bad days (like last week) feel even more frustrating.

Good to hear one ex-Rover making an impact at Stockport. Jake Kirby has dropped off the radar though?

No idea how Daz didn't get MOTM. Certainly don't know how Baines got it - gave away a silly free kick for one goal and arguably a needless corner for the other. If MOTM was given at the end of the game Hinchliffe probably should have got it for that save - celebrated like a goal.

Kirby was recalled from Warrington at the start of our great run and was playing well, but he picked up an injury and Stephenson came in for him and made himself undropable with his most consistent run of form since we've signed him.

Asante keeps up his record of scoring in every league game he's featured in. 7 goals in 5 appearances for him. Thought Dudley was class today, such an elegant footballer.

Couldn't agree with you more it was a shocking game of football for both sets of supporters, I think I've just witnessed the worst referee in charge of a game he was an absolute disgrace.
The match was screwed up by the referee.

One of the security guy's said Muggleton's broke his leg? when he talking to us, poor lad he's had no luck limped off against Blyth last week and stretchered off this week. I wish him well.

It was one of those game's where you just wanted to go home. I don't think either team could get out of first gear today. It was good to see a good few Port fan's in the ground.
