Last couple of games have seen us trying to walk the ball in when I'd prefer us to be far more direct around the 18 yard box. If Shomotun is going to start for us then we'd have to change formation for the first time all season and play 4-5-1 (maybe not such a bad thing away from home) with him playing in the '10' role.

Good setup at Tooting last Saturday, can't begrudge the result either as we were hanging on big time in the second half. After giving us far too much time in the first half Dulwich went really high in the second half and didn't allow our midfield to turn on the ball so they could expose the high line.

Tough test at home to Chelmsford this Saturday, we've not had much joy against Rod Stringer sides.

Gary Johnson is the new manager at Torquay. Cannot fault that appointment!

Great appointment on paper that, although I doubt much good can be done what with all going on behind the scenes. Hope Torquay rise again, good club and rankled at the time that we officially relegated a brother last season, although we were of course, deliberately awful, and did our best to try and let them win the game.

Going from Gary Owers to Gary Johnson is one hell of an upgrade. If Torquay fail, they won't be able to blame this appointment.

Buzzing with that! Finally got decent financial backing behind us, will also go a long way with trying to improve the fanbase's opinion on the owner.

Wealdstone 2-3 Chelmsford City (Att: 856)

Great game for the neutral yesterday, awful for supporters of both teams as it really had everything. 60 yard lob, open goals missed, a missed penalty, two headers cleared off the line and the post hit for good measure.

3-0 down after 50 minutes and yet I think most if not all Stones supporters will tell you that they're mystified how we didn't win that game 4-3. Chelmsford's goal lived one hell of a charmed life after we brought it back to 3-2.

I see the goal from the half way line was by Michael Spillane. Thought he would have a longer league career as he looked brilliant when we had him on loan all those years ago. Seems to have found a nice home at Chelmsford though.

We've just announced the loan signing of Fabien Robert. "Should" be class at this level given his experience and pedigree....Sure we'll do our best to ruin him though!

How long is that loan for? He hasn't been playing much recently so guess it will take him a few games to get close to match fitness.

----------------------------

On Billericay, fair play to Dean Brennan and Stuart Maynard for taking the offer especially when it's a 3 year deal. Best case scenario - they take the club up. Worst case scenario - both are let go but that will hardly blot their CV.

Spare me the pauper budget at Hemel however, I'd be inclined to believe that they're a top 7 spending side, it may well just be that the base pay is small with heavily incentivised bonuses.

How will it be protected from flooding if it's on the same site as the old one?

They're raising the land the stadium will sit upon.
Thanks. I saw an article about that after posting. Sounds like a huge operation to raise an area covering 2 or 3 acres by (presumably) several feet. Hope it's effective.

1-0 win at East Thurrock yesterday afternoon. Stefan Brown was given the start but pulled up with an injured hamstring after 10 minutes. Enter Jorome Slew who had been on loan at Northwood two divisions below. He was incredibly unlucky not to score when his shot was blocked on the line by our own centre half ffs (never seen that before), however his perseverance bared fortune late in the 2nd half when he reacted to a Godfrey Poku header and slotted at the 2nd time of asking.

I still don't think we're performing anywhere near to the levels that we were at the start of the season and our 3 main strikers are now injured but we're in the top 7.

Onto Hungerford or Wantage in the Cup next Saturday.

That bit is basically done already. Just the retaining walls to do next and then it will start to resemble a football stadium. The stands will be prefabricated so will basically be dropped into place. It'll probably be a little "Lego" like to begin with but we just need to get back rather than wait even longer for a dream stadium. 12 seasons in exile already is madness.

We drew 2-2 with Eastbourne with a goal from us in literally the last play of the game, frankly undeserved. But once again it was a pretty sub standard performance from us. Marc Richards appears to be heavily linked with Hereford (them again!) and a lot of people seem to be resigned to him going, to be honest I've seen little in our performances to suggest he's a tactical mastermind so if he does go I wouldn't be too despondent. In fact if it wasn't for Tim Harris being there I bet Richards name would be nowhere near it.

Little bit concerned about Saturday's FA cup game v Dorking now as we haven't looked that comfortable for a long time now and we seem to have 3 or 4 players that are continually injured.

And with that Richards has gone to Hereford! In all honesty the reaction is what I expected with the majority of our fans disappointed in the manner, I.E "Mr Gloucester City" AKA Tim Harris blatantly engineering this move and the others that have followed, but on the whole positive about the future given results were so so and the football played negative. I don't give either of them long at Hereford tbh. Tim appears to be in charge of transfers there and he basically throws enough shit at it until something sticks. Marc is so defensive it makes Italian 1990's football look like Kevin Keegan tactics.

I wish them luck though lol

Well after three wins and a draw, we've returned to our usual four losses in a row :( that and rumours of not enough £'s and I believe we are going to struggle to survive relegation this year.
