Truro City have been taken over by unnamed new owners

The new owner has agreed a confidentiality agreement until the deal is ratified by the league.

This all just sounds a bit "dodgy". Truro seem to be flying by the seat of their pants, they'll probably stay up which means some other more stable club will go down, then maybe Truro goes pop later this year. It's just all wrong. Someone is clearly paying quite a lot of money to get a competitive Truro team on the pitch this season, but there's no real guarantee it can be sustained.

I'm surprised this can happen as I've been led to believe that the National League has quite strict regulations governing this sort of thing.

Yup, I remember a couple of years back hearing that Peter Masters was pumping in £25,000 a month to fund the club so unless this new owner/these new owners are prepared to invest (haha) similar sums into the club then they're only going one way and that's down the football pyramid. Masters selling also seems to indicate to me that Stadium4Cornwall isn't happening (any time soon).

Good for the TISA boys though, maybe they'll be allowed back at Treyew Road now.

1-1 draw at home to Billericay on Monday night, entertaining game for the neutral with both sides having chances to win it. Well worth watching their equaliser though if only for comedic value on our part.

Be such a shame to see Masters departing the scene (sic).

Don't bank on it though, Torquay fans are crapping themselves as whispers abound that Masters is about to switch his unwanted allegiance to Plainmoor.

New Netlix documentary Losers features Torquay in it's second episode "The Jaws of Victory" about our escape from relegation in the inaugural auto relegation season (the event that created the Brotherhood).

An enjoyable 25 minute trip down memory lane (Lincoln fans may not agree, although they seem to have done alright since ;)), we are a million times better off the field now even if we have sunk into the depths of non-league oblivion.

None of the top 7 won. I think squeaky bum time has come early in the NLS.

Actually none of the top eleven won. Highest placed winners were Slough in 12th, who beat lowest placed losers Hemel in 13th.

Amazingly the bottom three were playing the top three, and achieved two wins and a draw.

Dulwich got a vital win under the circumstances to avoid getting reeled in by the bottom three, 2-0 at home to 7th placed Dartford who looked very ordinary. It's my first season watching regularly in this division and there seems to be relatively little difference between most sides compared to the lower level.

Another absolute bore draw for us. Defensively we are unreal at the moment, that is our 6th clean sheet in our last 7 games but we've only managed to score 4 goals in those 7 and just 21 in the entire league season. It was also our fourth successive nil nil draw at Evesham!

But, still unbeaten under Cook! Also we had a nightmare before the game as somehow the registration forms for our on loan keeper Jo Jo Wollacott got rejected on Friday evening, so we went into the game without a keeper. We managed to get league dispensation to play Tom King, who is 38 and hadn't played for us since 1999, to play at about 10am on the day. Saturday's game was also the highest level of football he'd ever played.

Attack wise we are unbelievably poor. Joe Parker is being played more as a winger, due to his pace, but he does get himself in good positions but his finishing has been bad and ultimately thats the reason why he isn't at a league club anymore. Think he's only scored 4 or 5 in almost 40 games. Jackson is our top scorer this season, with just 4 goals, but has missed a fair bit of the season due to injury. Harry Williams certainly is, or was, good enough as previous seasons have testified but he's a permanent crock. Kotwica has't impressed since he's returned.

All the loanees we've had upfront have been not quite ready for this level or frankly appalling, the latest being Gifton Noel-Williams' lad who promptly got injured after 15 minutes after doing what seemed to be the perfect Andre Wright impression. Doesn't bode well.

Have seen posts on the Wealdstone forum about Saturday, imagine what its like for us. Honestly Evesham is a lovely little place, nice town center and plenty of decent boozers. But the football stadium is horrific. Far too open to the elements, the pitch is appalling and the entire place is completely soulless.

We were kind enough to let Jackson score twice against us back in November.

Agree about Evesham's ground though - in the middle of nowhere and not suitable for Conf South football. Only benefit is you can park right behind the ground and get away easily.

Are you still going to be there next season?

Well you wont get charged £19 for a 'Category A' game in this league at least...

The main thing I've noticed about this league is the terrible standard of some pitches (including our recently) leading to endless hoofball.

Fraid so whatever divison we are in. Still being told we'll be back in Gloucester in January 2020 however. We haven't exactly got a good track record with those predictions mind...

Saturday's game at Gloucester may have been the most boring Stones game I've ever seen. Conditions with a swirling wind didn't help and the pitch was atrocious, bobbles everywhere but that didn't seem to stop some of our support base shouting to 'keep it on the deck', right how's that going to work out when a 5 yard pass is bobbling here there and everywhere...

Good save from the stand-in Gloucester keeper to stop a Connor Stevens header right at the end, I thought it was in. Other than that, I think we had one further shot on target and Gloucester one or two themselves.

Get yourselves back home ASAP Clem Fandango because there aren't many grounds in this league more soulless than at Evesham.

Thought i'd come and see what next season will be like...

Awful football but in some cases you'll be able to drink on the terraces so perhaps an even trade off? We'll take a few to Aldershot if you do come down.

Are WSM going to pull off their annual escape and cement their status as the 1980s and 90s Coventry City of the NLS?

They have consecutive home games against Wealdstone tonight then Hungerford on Saturday, followed by their remaining game in hand at St Albans next Tuesday. The bottom three have all shown signs of making a fight of it recently, while Eastbourne and Hampton have both failed to win since early January and are beginning to get reeled in.

I reckon something around 44 points will be needed to ensure safety.

Unbeaten run ended last night with a controversial 2-1 defeat to Concord. Both goals were adjudged to cross the line, however the ref and linesman were both miles away from the action. Would like to see the replays, if caught. The first one has more of a case I guess, as most Concord players appealed. The last one, in the 89th minute, is debatable to say the least especially as there wasn't much of an appeal from anyone. Bitter pill to swallow.

5-0 win at Weston on Tuesday night, our biggest ever away win in the Conny Sarf (previous best were by 3 goal margins) however anybody who was there would agree that the scoreline wasn't reflective of the match.

What I will say is we were direct and clinical which surprised me as the latter has been a hindrance of ours for as long as I can remember.

Weston play the ball around nicely and did so with relative ease in the first half breaking through our half-press time after time but took far too long in their build-up allowing us to get back and organised defensively into our 5-4-1 formation.

Great win for the goal differential and well worth the 6 hours of driving on Tuesday. Shame about Concord and Dartford getting late winners but hey ho.

Perhaps the Pirates owning both clubs makes it easier to deliver on Stadium4Cornwall?

Welling more or less ended our playoff hopes yesterday with an impressive 3-1 win at the Vale. I thought we played well for the first half hour and had we been more direct when on the break then it quite easily could have been 2 or 3-0 and a far tougher task for Welling to get something from the game, however we didn't and Welling from that point on were superb, largely kept us at bay and looked devastating every time they were on the break.

There's a stat going around whereby we haven't won at home since October and haven't lost on the road since November (once since August). I don't get why we struggle so much at home.

It isn’t a stat, but fact!

United's ticket allocation (1,393) for the Woking game sold out within 24 hours of going on sale. If it's still neck-and-neck on April 6 this could make for a very interesting fixture.

However, no chickens being counted on my part... we still have to play Dartford (h), Concord (a) and Wealdstone (h) before visiting Kingfield.... and, this is Torquay United after all, so don't expect the expected... we could be 9 points clear... we could be 9 points adrift.... we don't do things the easy way! ever!

Marc McGregor sacked at Weston Super Mare

One final desperate attempt to avoid the drop?

Weston have used up their 9 lives, they're gone.

Very impressive following again from Torquay, Bath away was something similar wasn't it? Whilst we like to play spoilers and I'm fairly confident we'll surpass Woking's 154 at Plainmoor, having only one fit centre half with no money to bring in a replacement is hardly ideal.

Yes Bath and Weston are of course near for us but Woking is still around 170 miles from us
